I totally agree with greengrass. Many of us do not understand how we on a daily bases speak death and curses over our selves and love ones. Truthfully say what u mean and mean what u say. I am a victim and embarrased to say i out of anger at times still do it. And please becareful with what you speak about ur kids. If they are acting up dont say the i word or the d word. OK if u actually listen to the sone & the interview u will here her say that she doesn’t just want to be a baby mama she wants to be a wife. I was a wife then after the divorce i became a baby mama & my ex does not refer to me in that term bec we both see it as degrading. I’m the mother of his children not his baby mama why degrade urself by saying that. We as a race need to stop doing that to ourselves. Its hard enough dealing with others but to put yourself down is making it harder. Be more than just a “baby Mama/daddy” be a parent to the child & friend to the other parent.

Alright, I listened to this stupid song! Look she can run around saying this was supposed to be saying so much more than lay up and have babies status but, unfortunately, young women who don’t know any better aren’t going to see it that way. The truth is that being a “baby mama” is the focus of the song other wise she wouldn’t have titled as such. If the song was supposed to be about getting married why not call it “wife me” or something of that nature? I say grow up! We as women need to realize that men treat us the way we allow them to in most cases. Stop being a “Baby Mama” and become a wife and mentor PLEASE!

I have a son and I’m not with his father. I would never want to be called “Baby Mama”, when anyone hear baby mama to most intellegent people that mean some one that is a pain in the A–. I get along with his father because I want my son to grow up with both his parents in his life. We both go to parent teacher conferences, and every so often we will take him out together. Don’t get me wrong there are times when his father upsets me, but my son should not be used as a pawn or a way top get back at him. Our male children need positive male role model in their lives. I try not to speak ill of his father in front of him. I would rather allow my son to have as stress free time in his young life. With peer pressure and gangs snatching up our youth we as parents have the responsibility to teach our children both male and female that life can be better if you become respectful and responsible young adults, and you get respect if you give it.

So long as blackplanet, bet, urban magazines and us the community, keep giving spotlight to this foolishness. We shouldnt at all be suprised by it. Anytime we encounter a blackwoman, naming herself jackie-o, we should already be leary of her and her level of wisdom. There for we’re too blaim, for allowing our educational system to rape the minds of little children, thus making them grow up to want to name themselves after a dead white woman known for dressing good and turning a blind eye to a cheating husband.

Really it’s a shame. I agree Doin_what_i_wann_dew. It is time for us to stop making our whole culture look bad. The song is catchy and plays to the mindset of today’s teens and urban music messages. Jackie shouldn’t be penalized for trying to get paid. Whether or not it is her true feelings only she knows.
