9thMatic-Go

Producer/DJ /lecturer 9th Wonder recently joined a long list of hip-hop producers who have picked up the microphone.

On his recent collaboration album with MURs, Fornever, he drops a verse on the song “Asian Girl” and on his artist Big Remo’s “Go” the Grammy winning producer spits, “coming through on the humble/ 9th Wonder beats make it thump like Rumble/I’m in the Soundwave, ask the Megatron Don…

While on a recent visit to New York for an EA Sports “NBA Elite 2011″ event (9th scored the music for the latest installment of the basketball franchise)   spoke with “9thmatic” and he explained the inspirations for the “Go” video and what made him decide to start rapping.

    this dude only getting attention because of a Jay-Z track that doesn’t get play on the radio. Yeah, he’s a grammy winner, but not because of his music. His music for the most part sucks. He’s an imitation of the real deal: J-Dilla. Now he’s getting big-headed and rappin’, LOL. He should stick to his University Professor job.

    Actually the dude got his Grammy because he’s nice with the beats. If you pick up some Underground soul classics, he’s probably one of the producers. From Little Brother to Strange Fruit Project to Jay-Z , 9th didn’t just got attention…he earned it. Now HE’S NO J-DILLA….that’s for sure and he knows that (I hope), but he’s up there. Him rappin ain’t him…especially when you have someone else writing your lyrics! Let’s see where it goes..
