Engineer, Producer, DJ and A&R Young Guru took a moment to discuss the importance of Mos Def’s song “N*ggas In Poorest”, an answer  to The Throne’s “N*iggas In Paris.”  Young Guru is essentially Jay-Z’s right-hand man in the studio having engineered damn near every song Hov has breathed on, but he thinks Mos’ song has merit.

“I really don’t think that the point of Mos is to diss Jay and Ye,” Guru says in a RapRadar exclusive. “I think Mos is giving his perspective and using that song as he normally does to create social commentary. Which I love. I absolutely love the song. Mos is one of my favorite MCs of all time…if you listen to what he’s saying it’s not a diss.”

In 2008 Mos jacked the beat to Jay-Z’s “Takeover” (produced by Kanye West) to do a song called “The Rape Over” which criticized the record business. So this isn’t exactly a first for Mos.
