This is what happens when you make jokes and people take you seriously.

When news of the impending snow storm in the North East began to spread I joked on Twitter that we would dedicate a day to posting Cocaine rap by hip-hop’s “snow” men. I was totally joking but folks are hitting me on email asking “where’s the playlist?” Damn, it’s like that?

It’s not that I am completely against rap songs about drugs. Hip-hop is about reality and like it or not drugs get used and sold in this country on a daily basis. But the context and execution of the various songs is lacking sometimes.

But without further adieu, this is your brain on drugs…

Rick Ross F/Avery Storm “Rich Off Cocaine”

Love this beat. Hate the topic.

OJ Da Juiceman F/ Gucci Maine “Make The Trap Say Aye”

Jay-Z “Blue Magic” (yeah, this is about heroine but ask me if I care)

Clipse “Keys Open Doors”

Young Jeezy, “White Girl”

Raekwon, “Ice Water” (you really could put all of Cuban Linx on here but whatever)

Ice Cube, “A Bird In The Hand” (actually one of my favorite Ice Cube songs)

50 Cent, “Cocaine”

Master P, “Getto D” (I hope Rakim got a check for this)

Nas, Nature, AZ & Foxy Brown “Affirmative Action” (Foxy’s verse could have gotten her Fed time)

Lil Wayne & Juelz Santana “I Can’t Feel My Face”

UGK, “Pocket Full Of Stones”

T.I. “Rubberband Man” (would have gone right here but Youtube is hatin, and I’m really not motivated enough to steal the FLV file…next)

Busta Rhymes F/ Raekwon “Goldmine”

Boogie Down Productions, “Illegal Business”
(Had to end it like this…)

Ross is tha muthaf**kin’ Boss. Say what you must about this nigga, but if you inspect the flow …you’ll understand that he just may be the closest thing to carry on a B.I.G. delivery. Homey content is super slick, and for any nigga that’s been in the game, they can tell that dude really know bout this s**t. It’s some real niggaz out here that have worked in corrections, …I know, cuz’ I’m one. To be honest, most of these street niggaz are out here broke, and in the way. O

Rap is real, some rappers are Abstact like Picasso, Some are direct like Michaelangelo…What is your point? I bet when that Crack Cocaine music comes on You r the first one Jumpin’!

Rick Ross is a pig! A cop can’t convince me about how hard life is when he has sold his soul to the man and flaunts his rentals and crap all over the tube! People need to wake the f*@! up.

yeah after watching many families get ripped apart by family drug users, growing up, I’m appalled that more blacks don’t reject this glorification of the heavy drugs. Stupid people, man.

Peace,I don’t listen to sell out crap or buy it. It’s crazy how black
people like to be abused and then complain. Stop using drugs, stop selling
the BS. These days negrows who sell and promote crack and any other drugs
are suckers and pawns for the racist, nazis who are happy to see black
people destroyed. All these rappers who have made money off the blood
and misery of this genodcide are in bed with these racist crooks.
So I can say, they never had any of my money in their dirty pockets.
All you dumb, slave minded negrows go read the book
Dark Alliance and then you might stop serving death to your people
and maybe stop busting caps on black men in the hood.

I don’t buy none of them cds since they all are buffoons for promoting drugs. There is nothing glamorous about it all you see around you is death and broken families. One hundred years from now the new generation be looking at rappers of today as a bunch of ignorant fools who promoted drugs on the street and rapping about it in their music making more money. Most of them would not look very good in the music history book a legacy they will leave for their future ancestors. Idiots.
