Here’s the deal, SEPARATED still means you’re married! Bottom line! The very nature of SEPARATION as it relates to being married is to have enough time apart to THINK about whether or not the relationship can be restored or if it should be dissolved. It doesn’t mean you have a free ticket to start ANOTHER relationship before you figure out what YOUR part was in the breakdown of the one that’s not working! It’s NEVER only one person’s fault that a relationship is not working So if Swizz no longer wanted to be married, and felt it was over, he should have taken the next mature step and divorced! Real simple! Mashonda is not exempt from behaving foolishly either. Of course, there’s the initial shock of facing the fact that you’ll now be part of the BLACK stats of single parent mother households, and the fact that she’ll probably have to be passed around the drooling wolves a bit before she finds someone to take her and the kids (look at Eddy Murphy’s ex!)

Alicia Keys has also proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she has NO respect for herself as a woman, or OTHER woman when she allows Swizz to blatantly interact with her publicly and not insist that he divorce before he gets with her! Further more, she is allowing herself to be used by this man as a mere excuse to shift his inability to maturely address his personal issues and clear them up before moving everyone involved (including his children)into a public display of another BLACK MALE that has not have the discipline or the training to “handle his business!” Making many of the images our youth are witnessing today from their so called role models, a guaranteed recipe for the continued and collective extinction of our people maturing beyond this all to common scenario. Just remember, choices that DO NOT include or require ANY standards for visualizing the end result , will almost always momentarily help us escape from facing anything that may mean we have to actually put some effort into deciding the outcome of our choices before we make them! It’s good to “live in the moment”, but if we don’t begin to develop ourselves beyond behavior that complicates our exchanges with one another, and development that part of our brain that allows us to THINK beyond how we ESCAPE what we created in the first place, and become THINKERS of the END result of our choices, we’re doomed! Alicia is displaying her own insecurity as a woman by even allowing Swizz to get her all caught up in his mess (he must have some good…!) before it’s resolved. I agree that this is their business but when you put your life on public display you ask for criticism. Swizz can say what he wants on TV that doesn’t make it true. The only people who know the real deal are the people involved. All I can say is you reap what you sow and karma does come back on you 10 fold. So the people involved need to think about that.
