He took part in VH1’s Hip Hop Honors Dirty South tribute in June and would have performed at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash 15 that same month if his probation officer hadn’t prohibited him from doing so.
Mystikal was in Atlanta recently and dropped by the Hot 107.9 studios to give us some insight on what he’s working on. He said that while he has yet to sign a record deal with anyone, several companies are interested.
He also gave his take on today’s crop of MCs like Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Mystikal’s album, expected to drop by early next year, will feature collaborations with Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, former No Limit rapper Fiend and New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty. Producers include Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven and KLC (formerly of No Limit’s Beats By The Pound).
