Jay-Z has been making his rounds to speak on the demise of Auto-Tune, from his point of view. KRS has been doing the same. With alleged come-back tracks on the way from other artists, Jay had to recently explain what originally made him take a closer look at how Auto-Tune was changing the way people viewed the culture.

I just think in Hip Hop, when a trend becomes a gimmick, it’s time to move on,” Jigga told Chicago radio station WGCI earlier this week, echoing statements we reported on yesterday. “I saw a Wendy’s commercial and they’re using Auto-Tune. They’re joking on it. It’s like, OK, enough of that. … It was a trend. It was cool in the beginning. Some people made great music with it. Now it’s time to move on.”

Marco Alpert, VP-marketing for Antares Audio Technologies spoke on his product, telling SongsforSoap.com that their will always be a need for his product in music. He also said that their company had no problem with what is being said about its product or how it is used in the Wendy’s ad.

We’re thrilled to have our brand out in the general world of pop culture. When it’s made it into Wendy’s commercials, we know that we’ve definitely moved beyond the rather rarified boundaries of the professional audio-technology world. Controversy is good for the Auto-Tune brand, and kind of fun to boot.”

if hip hop is an art. that means there is no blueprint or manual on how it’s supposed to be done. Art is someone’s own interpretation. If you don’t like it, you either ignore it or don’t buy it.

    That’s art.

HIP-HOP IS SUPPOSED TO BE, THAT MEANS BE CREATIVE WITH IT, BUT I DO SAY THAT EVERYONE IS BEING EXCESSIVE WITH AUTOTUNE, BUT T-PAIN IS TALENTED REGARDLESS WHETHER HE USED IT OR NOT

most of yall are totally misunderstanding what he is saying… he is saying that auto-tune is being overly used. He has no problem with t-pain using auto-tune and a few others but for every one to just start using it is just crazy and i agree with him. Its sad. It just shows that people are very limited in talent and cant be original any more. Let tpain have the auto tune and every one else just needs to be them self. is this hip hop / rap or are we making space music?

it is our fault as the consumer people are making music that sound alike trying to get a quick buck, because nobody buys c.d.’s anymore, so they have to get there money any way they can, if your a actual musician, you know in order to get the best tracks and the best sound, you have to pay top dollars, and if your paying top dollar, and nobodys buying, you the artist are f**ked, producer fees, studio fees, record company, managers, and so on and so on have to get there cut, which by the time the artist gets his, he either has very little or nothing left because nobodys buying anything, so i think some artist are forced to go with the quick hit aka ring tone money, cause at least people buy them, so i think everybody complaining, if you want better music, then support the artist

There is nothin wrong with auto tune… Until its abuse like it has been for the past few year… T-pain was and is still doin his thing wit it… it helps creat his specific sound. Then comes along the borrower(Kanye and Wayne) then an pandemic of new as well as ol’ cats(Ron Brown) tryna get on and stay on with it. Thisis nothing in music like life were taught by society to chase money…by any means. Sell ya soul and ya art.
