BREAKING: T.I.’s Artist Was A Federal Informant!
Uh-oh. Goon status may have been revoked!
Billed as the protégé of rapper/gun enthusiast T.I. [click here to read], Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars is a convicted felon whose songs brag about his status as an “original gangster” and contain de rigeur references to police tape, automatic weapons, and murder.
Zellars, who records for T.I.’s Grand Hustle Entertainment, is a hulking 6′ 4″, calls himself “The Grand Hustle Muscle,” and proclaims, “I’m a real hood.” What he does not mention, though, is his prior work as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant who snitched out criminal cohorts and testified as a government witness at the trial of an Atlanta heroin trafficker [click here to read].
Court records show that Zellars began working with law enforcement officials after he was sentenced in September 1995 to 110 months in a federal gun case (Zellars, who had a prior felony robbery conviction, was collared for selling weapons to an undercover federal agent). Zellars “agreed to cooperate with authorities and was debriefed” about the criminal activity of several individuals. “In particular he was debriefed concerning the drug trafficking activities of a Mr. Ali Baaqar,” according to a government court filing, a copy of which you’ll find below.
During his cooperation against Baaqar, Zellars met with a DEA agent and a federal prosecutor, and subsequently testified at trial. “Ali Baaqar was convicted of conspiracy to distribute heroin based upon the trial testimony of [Zellars] and others.” In return for his snitching, Zellars had 18 months shaved off his prison term when he was resentenced in July 1997 by Judge J. Owen Forrester. A court order signed by Forrester came after federal prosecutors petitioned the jurist to reduce Zellars’s sentence in light of his “substantial assistance to the Government.”
The disclosure of Zellars’s informant past will likely not sit well with rap fans and performers alike, many of whom promote hip-hop’s “Stop Snitching” doctrine. Additionally, since T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) is soon headed to prison due to the work of a government informant, Zellars’s time as a government asset could be a cause for tension around the Grand Hustle offices.

There’s always a said/unsaid rule in any game, be it “in the office,”, “in the church” and/or “in the streets”. So anyone who knows a someone in which they may wonder, in whatever the case, about the life & the style of that someone, indirectly becomes “part of the rule”. And like he said, truth is truth–so, with regards & sympathy to mothers who have lost their children, (implying that they were “in the game”), subconciously, these mothers were “part of the rule of the game” b/c of their awareness. The game don’t change, just the faces and therefore, it is implied that of ALL the repercutions reciprocated when that someone “breaks the rule(s)” automatically go right into effect. Ignorance is no excuse for “the law (the rules)”!
The lesson to be learned in each penalty of the game is to learn the game before you enter. Once you enter, it’s a lifelong committed contract—u either s**t like a rat or fly high in the sky like a bald eagle. I was taught “you walk thru the fire in hell with no drawers on”, and that’s that. And this allegience has no gender, no nationality, no race and no victims. You choose to – You locked in 4LiFe. From what I see, many just don’t have the mental stanima to even be “in the game”!

If you are not in that dimension aka “the streets” then law enforcement may serve you some good; but if you’re on the other side of the fence wheeling and dealing then they will always create more problems than solutions. And even the mothers who lose a child to the No Snitching rule understand that their child 9 times out of 10 was playing a game, and broke these rules. (not saying the mothers like it; but they do understand. b/c we all live on the same planet and live thru the same things. parents know what is asked of a person in “street life”, thats why they dont want u to participate in it. the consequences are great) and if some of those rules are broken the penalty is death. Much like the rules/laws that govern this “great” country of USA (i.e. capital punishment). Wellars knew the play, he knew what was being asked of him, and he most certainly knows the consequences as does T.I. Thus letting him go, b/c if not, Wellars becomes an extra liability.
Living in the “streets” isnt hard to do: (1) mind YOUR business (2) Dont snitch [but if u follow rule 1 then rule 2 is extra easy; b/c you have nothing to snitch about but yourself] (3) hold your own
Anybody who knows anybody can tell you that the hardest of the hard fell victim to the plea bargain. Why? Thats something you would have to ask them. I couldnt answer that because I have not nor will I tell on somebody else especially my friends/dogs/homebois/brothers. “Real” nigguhs dont tell (i.e. Meech). a “real” nigguh will suffer his own consequences as well as his partners in order to maintain the integrity of his organization. Even the federal government does it. This is a practice that has occurred since the beginning of time. didnt ur mother/grandmother used to tell you not to tattle tell? and they as “Real” as it gets. The underlying message here is if you wish to live that lifestyle then there are rules to follow; and unlike many cases these rules are not meant to be broken nor bent. Because if they are then ur gambling with ur life and the well being of ur family. Im not sure what the rap audience will think of Alfa or what ATL thinks of Alfa but I know where im from, we do not break bread nor sip tea with the enemy. And if your working to jam somebody, then ur the enemy. Even if you think b/c the dude is Arab thats “its okay, he’s not black” WRONG. if ur not white; ur black. WE all get treated the same. Im not sure of the complete situation only whats been publicized but I do know if Alfa at any point in time co-operated with a law enforcement agancy to catch a man minding his own business, then he has broken an essential rule on he block. Now if Alfa put the boys on a wild goose chase, then that explains a lot. (y he only got 18 months knocked off a 110 month sentence; the “man” doesnt like being made a fool of) but again until ALL the details come forward I would reserve judging him (thats God’s job). Alfa knows what went down, his hood know what went down, T.I. knows what went down, DEA knows what went down. And if Ali Baqaar exists; he knows what went down. I was always taught that behind every rumor lies the truth. with that said I truly believe Alfa was talkin somewhere to somebody at some point in time.
