UPDATE: Rihanna Calls Brown Plea “Fair & Just Resolution”

By The Urban Daily June 22, 2009 5:13 pm

<br />

Rihanna’s lawyer issued a statement on behalf of the R&B star after Chris Brown entered a guilty plea:

“Rihanna was told about the plea deal at 12noon and had no objection. Rihanna believes that this is a fair and just resolution of this case. She would like to thank from the bottom of her heart the district attorney’s office and LAPD that showed her only courtesy and compassion….Its inappropriate suffice it to say that now there is a stay away order in effect, I’m sure Chris will abide by that order.

Looks like Chris Brown won’t have to “Run It” for anybody in the bing anytime soon.

According to TMZ Chris Brown Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case and will not do jail time. He’s also been ordered to completely stay clear from Rihanna.

He’ll spend 180 days doing hard labor in Virginia, his legal residence, and will serve 5 years probation for FELONY assault (which he pled guilty to). He must also enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.

If Brown violates probation, he could get up to 4 years in prison.

These artists were not so lucky. Does the system treat rappers differently?

Indeed! MsHorne692003. I was just saying that women can easily drive a man “stock raven mad”. Who do you think brought the infamous “Rome” to it’s knees? An African woman named Cleopatra that’s who. And for you so called bible scholars, who allegedly got the first black family kicked out of “eden”? I rest my case.

I’m grateful the young Master (CB) did not get thrust into the perverse environment of the unjust criminal system, and he deserves fogiveness. I know, through first hand experience that many young women are vipers, looking to trap any man who they believe is able bodied, and will be good providers. Of course, in that case both parties were young and rich to boot. They had no business playing couple in the first place. that goes double for “African American” males…. They are openly attacked by everyone including thier own mothers, fathers, sisters, and even brothers. Look how many people quickly tried to condemn the young master to death, not having a clue as to what caused the man to loose his cool. I still think she must have bragged to him about her starting line up of “ballers”. Be careful Brothers. It is going to get worst from here on in.

The comment of MJ being a child molester was just low, talk about kicking a man when he’s down. I think charges dismissed due to lack of evidence means they never had s**t on the man from the start. that was jsut a dirty ass statement I guess its like they always said crabs in a f**kin bucket will all die because the haters at the bottom will snatch you down when they see you climbing to the top. Somebody please bless us with some intelligent staement. Its like the man say for those who feel he deserved to get the felon X on his back is bulls**t. Do you have any idea how damn hard it is out here for a black man after being convicted of a felon. S**t oyu damn near mights as well crawl undre a rock and die like a punk. You can’t get work, you can barley rent a place to live due to the fact that some places now require a background check to be pulled before they rent you a spot. these day Mc Donalds won’t harely hire you if you’re a convicted felon. See some of you folks talk bout stuff and never lived it seen it or done it. Kinda remind me of some of these flaw ass rappers out here in the music industry. I’m not tellin you something I heard,I’m tellin you something I live everyday. Until 2003 I was proud to ssay I’ve never been convicted a felony. Until then i never knew just how much it meant as a black man trying to live the right way,now I know by experience that. Once you get the X on your back you are pretty much screwed as a black man, lord forbid you go to prison. S**t you don’t even have any rights as a citizen when you come out. you think I ‘m just rapping? take a second to do some homework and see for yourself. I been outta work for a year and a half and looking for work goes this way for me….”Hello,Mr.Seldom,you would like to apply for a job today?” “Yes I would.” “Alright,I have a couple of questions for you?” “Alright,no problem.” “Are you over the age of 18?” “Why yes i am,as a matter of fact I’m 33.” “Have you ever been convicted of a felony?” “Well, yes I have back in 2003;however,I have not been charged with any other crime outside of a minor traffic violation since then.”(with my chest poking out thinking, yeah I’ve been doing pretty good)”Well Mr. Seldom, I’m sorry to say that you do not qualify for employment with our company, sorry.” “Well, wait a minute ,you don’t want to know the nature of the charge, the circ**stances, the outcome, I haven’t been in anymore trouble since then Mr. Employer.” “Well I’m sorry Mr.Seldom, that is company policy, theres nothing I can do about that.” “What really, are you serious, but this is Burger King,I don’t even need any special skills to work here.” I’m jsut glad he already got a lil money so he don’t gotta go through the same s**t I go through on a daily basis. CB jsut stay the hell away from Flipper and you’ll be alright, and make some damn music cause them court fees is bout to hammer your ass.

Look, many things happened & many things were done. Let’s not find ourselves just looking @ the one thing. When people are frustrated they do irrational things(MEN & Women alike). Let the judges judge. Chris has plenty of money to keep him out of any real trouble. Rhianna is very slick and smart. She’s close enough to him to know how to push what button. So the best thing is that SHE stays away from him also. Women get verdicts in their favor all the time for VERBAL abuse. Men just have to Shut up and take it. Emotional abuse is a level playing field, yet brothas still get the short end of the stick. i’m not saying We should get off the physical abuse charges, just saying it really seams a lil-bit uneven all together. Remember this Ladies the next time you say there aren’t any good brothas out there: Crazy women can really make all women look bad, and its worse when other women get behind the crazy one and go on a Man bashing spree while she’s going on with her CRAZY Life. Let’s All sit and think.

180 days doing hard labor in Virginia, his legal residence, and will serve 5 years probation for FELONY assault (which he pled guilty to). He must also enroll in a domestic violence counseling program…and people are saying he got away with something. Are you kidding me? All of this… over that? I think he got too much. I can see the counseling and the hard time, but a FELONY. I don’t think that was right at all. They could have given him some sort of misdemeanor. I don’t condone hitting women, but I will say this to men and women “Keep your hands to yourself.” I hate how people always talk about never hit a woman, because that somehow seems to tell women “IT IS OK TO HIT A MAN.” NOT! It’s not OK to hit neither one…PERIOD. Why not tell everybody not to hit each other period. If you hit somebody…anybody you just might get hit back. If you don’t get hit back you just might have been lucky that day. Everyone should just follow the “Golden Rule” I won’t quote it, because you know it. It’s universal.

  • 6-24-2009 11:26 pm

Not always true that a man is stronger than a woman starrwalker. There are women out there that abuse men as well. Its just that we don’t hear about it as much. I recently went to court with a friend for a domestic violence case and she was the one being charged. I don’t condone domestic violence of any type be it against a man, woman or child. But don’t always think that jail time is an appropriate sentence for this crime. Counseling is sometimes the answer and that is what Chris Brown is getting. Stop being so judgemental.

  • 6-24-2009 10:10 pm

CB may be getting punished, but you best believe that Rihanna is getting hers just as bad. Because of CB’s punishment, she’s being punished. Thats why the judged told her to stay away from him as well. B/c once she goes around him, the same can of shxt is going to be opened up once again, and then LA is going to say ” See she did it again !”
My brothas and sistas w/ sense will feel me on this one.

You no what I agree with Gmayne187 and to all you sleep so called brothers and sisters that think Chris should have felony are as dumb as the white man want you to be. Regardless of what happened theres a plan to keepm our black youth in bondage with X’s on his backs and to the responders that speak on “what if that was your daughter” Well if that was my daughter i would have delt with chris myself, but in the same token i would have told my daughter don’t let the white man brand him but if ya’ll can’t get along leave him. all you’s that say he got what he deserved if that was your son yuo would be singing a different tune about how they are trying to hurt my baby and that rhiana aint no good!

  • 6-24-2009 6:29 pm

you know, people have this misconception that it is alright to hit a woman and its not. Now it is obivous that Chris and Rihanna had some issues that needed working on and we as the public got involved because of what happened, but it is still there business and it should stay that way. I think both of them just want to get on with their lives and try to get their careers back on track. Now I did not agree with them just bashing Chris by removing his music and commercials because you judged him withour hearing the facts. Like I have stated so many times before, R Kelly(child molestor)we knew about his past, but we still supported him and crowded arenas to hear him, James Brown(abuser)even though the King, we loved his music and him even though he beat his wife, Eniemn(abuser) who we love to hear his music and bob heads too, but Abused his wife and talked about his mother, Michael Jackson(child molestor), who still sells out arenas whose music we can’t get enough of, and the list goes on and on, Chris Brown made a mistake who I am sure will think twice about doing again, we are human and we learn from them. All I am saying is We can’t judge someone without being judged ourselves.

    DEAR MS LOVE2TRICK05

Please don’t act like the bald headed wig wearing scallywag you appear to be in your profile pic.. The only hater in here is you for responding.. I have no respect for women that have no respect for men. I wasnt speaking to you but since you wanna put ya butter flavored teeth in my mix, then let it be.. The so-called “power” you speak of was GIVEN to you BY MEN, and it can easily be taken away by men, all it takes is the right person to retain a position in goverment and you will be back to duckin right hooks in no time. Now, I dont wanna take up your time because judging from your dress you’ve got a lot a cars to flag down tonite, remember to adjust your prices to $20 a job.. remember you’re in a recession.. Now keep coming back, I can do this all day…

  • 6-24-2009 5:46 pm

Wow! I was reading some of these posts and am amazed that so many people think it’s okay to beat up a woman. A man is numerous times stronger than a woman, so it’s not ok for any reason. I hope you people don’t have childern you’re teaching your beliefs to. Even if she did give him an std, he’s a grown man who took a chance…you should all know better than to be out there bare backing with ANYONE…famous or not. Aside from that rumors get started all the time, so unless you have her medical records, who are you to judge? It’s obvious which of ya’ll are prone to putting your hands on a woman for any reason. Have a little self control and walk away. What kinda “man” needs to hit a woman? No man, that’s what boys with no respect for women and no upbringing do. He got what he deserved, and so did the rest of the rappers on the slideshow, teaching our young to tote guns and kill your own people. We hold our own race down with behavior like that.
