They say there are 8 million stories in the naked city and Hip-Hop renaissance man D-Nice is dedicated to bringing them to you all one compelling video at a time. The Bronx-born DJ/Photographer/MC and member of Boogie Down Productions has created a series on his website (www.D-Nice.com) called True Hip-Hop Stories where he gets some Hip-Hop veterans to share their most intimate experiences both within and outside of the music industry.

Below I’ve assembled just a few of my favorites featuring Monie Love, Sadat X, Kwame, and Masta Ace, but there are many more at his site that you should check out. Old School, New School need to learn though…

In this clip Monie Love discusses the inspiration for her classic recording “Monie In The Middle” and how one legendary MC tried to show his sensitive side while on tour.

In this clip Bran Nubians Sadat X discusses the making of the classic Brand Nubian recording “Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down” and how his stint on Rikers Island changed his life.
