Some people seem rather argumentive about certain artists making the list, but technically, “hits” are determined by numbers and/or statistics. Just because some of their other songs have been “hot” or “live on the mixtape scene” does not qualify it as a hit.

As far as I’m concerned, hip-hop is all about working and creating a fan-base through the underground scene. Mainstream success is not all thats its cranked up to be. Quite a few underground artists are eating better than a lot of mainstream artists.

The way I see it. everyone has their own opinion. But this article is more so based on the fact that these artist were trying tu reach a status that they couldnt keep. At one point they had mainstream attention, and then lost it. Sure they are probably making money in other venues, but they still dont have the attention the used tu.
