Ja Rule Explains Rock Vs. Hip-Hop Music

In a recent video interview with Ja Rule [click here to read], the former 50 Cent [click here to read] punching bag had some pretty interesting things to say about the music industry. Check out what the Murder Inc. frontman had to say:

“We fighting against other genres,” explained Ja. “We fightin’ against motherfuckin’ rock. We fightin’ against pop. We fightin’ against these other genres of music. We need to be together as a whole and not separating ourselves between West and East and South. I think New York is making a strong comeback right now. I think we doin’ our thing, we got Maino, we got Red Cafe. I think New York is making a surgence [sic]. I got my acts outta New York, I’m coming with a crazy album right now. But you know as a whole, it’s not about New York…it’s about Hip Hop. We all in this together. So when I think about it, that’s really my feelings on the situation.”

Rule also spoke on his oft-delayed album, The Mirror. “I’m putting together The Mirror: Reloaded. The Mirror got leaked…so I’m putting together all new tracks.”

In the meanwhile, Ja says he’s busy listening to new albums by Jadakiss [click here to read], Drake [click here to read] and Chester French.

    hip hop is gonna be ok,its evolving.its 2009 do we wear clothes from 1980?Do we wear hair styles from 80s?Do we still disco?Do we have do-wop groups?HELL NO HELL NO HELL NO so why would hip hop be the same style from when kurtis blow or big Daddy Kane or Kool Moe D were rapping,i dont want to here no ja rule from 2000.Thats why why started f**king with 50 because we want ja gonne

    I personally miss his music. I had a tape I made with a lot of his music and I was jammin’. people are so brainwashed, they let the mess with him and 50 convince them that he’s no good. I personally don’t care if the person has actually lived their music or not. If it’s good music then it’s good music. period!

    Ja Rule was good for 1 and a half CD’s His first one, and the Murderer’s Album, after that, it was just straight jams for the women, which is cool when you’re LL Cool J, but that’s what turned a lot of cats off to Ja Rule. They left him alone and let the ladies have him.

    BiznessCall.. u said u don’t want to hear JaRule from 2000 but didn’t corny ass 50 came out when? Not too long after that if not the same year. And 50 is not all that neither. Ja is my baby and I will always support him just like I will with Jeezy. But I do agree with the first half of your statement. We don’t have the same dances and styles like we did in the 8o’s. But like we don’t need Ja from 10 years ago,we don’t need whack ass 50 neither. He sucks azzz. Even if Ja did leave because of beef with 50, at least he did stop making music for a while. 50 keeps puttin out more and more whack and worthless music.

    I’m glad to hear that Ja is coming back into the spotlight. I’ll be ready for him when he does. And I totally feel him on the hip-hop thing. They should really stop trying to seperate s**t. I’ve NEVER heard of a POP star hollerin bout North, South, East or West…it’s silly to me.
