Jermaine Dupri won one for the kids when the rapper/producer won $50,000 during the “T-Mobile myFaves Shot of a Lifetime” charity contest on Friday (Feb. 13) at the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.

The contest, which took place during a red carpet event and was hosted by NBA player Dwayne Wade, had Dupri as one of the five players shooting up to five basketball shots with a chance to win anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 for a charity of his choice.

After wining the contest, Dupri said, “I’ve learned a lot as a young man coming up in the ranks of the music business and saw many examples of what celebrity really means – using your blessings to bless somebody else. Not for fanfare or fame, but to be able to hopefully help someone else in need. I’m so glad to be able to use my on-the-court skills to support the Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta.”

The event also included a performance by Grammy-nominated artist Katy Perry. Dupri also served as a DJ for the party following the contest. $170,000 was given to charity by the end of the night.
