Today is the first day of Kwanzaa and in the spirit of the holiday I’ve compiled a gallery of hip-hop artists to  celebrate the first principal, “Umoja” which means Unity.

Many of the images I gathered are of hip-hop groups, but some of them are no longer together for a variety of reasons. Other shots are of moments of unity, some that didn’t last. I included these images in with the more lasting examples as a reminder to us of what we can accomplish if we make the effort.
