I love it, that is how I feel. My daughters mother has been in and out of school since 1997, She does not have a bachelors degree yet and the court takes my salary and her lack of salary and come up with this silly ass number. I have no problem with taking care of mine but like he say in the song, I end up back in court anytime she think she deserves more. A good example though is when 50 was paying 35K a year and that chick wanted a raise and the Judge knocked it down to 5K. That broad was living in his house then.

I agree she should get a career and not depend on child support or a man to support her and her kids. Both parents are financially, physically and mentally responsible for a child. However, that is not the case 95% of the time.

Wow, I am going through some baby mama drama myself about child support. I was paying $100/wk for my youngest son and his mom just sat on her ass. I left my job after 15 years in September 2008. I had saved up some money to pay support through 2008. I was making $18/hr, I landed 2 p/t jobs in March and April, of course I wasn’t making the money that I use to make but I call the child support office and asked how do I go about getting my child support lowered. I had to fill out some paperwork and was told that it takes 3 months to modify. In the meantime, one of my job’s gets a letter saying that I have to pay $122/wk. So it takes 3 months to modify my support but a snap of the finger to send my job a letter BULLS**T! I’m not running from the system but I can’t afford that. In the end, I lost my house and left my 2 jobs to because of this. My wife and 2 kids moved in with her parents 5 hours away and tried to get back on our feet financially. I found a job and guess who’s job received a letter about child support. And let me also mention that the child support office claim that they don’t have my paperwork on file but has the mother’s. All this s**t while the mother sits on her ass and collect money. Word of advice for the fellas, L.A.W stands for Women Are Loved. The system will f**k you any way they can. I am not a deadbeat and I want to pay support but the system has f**k me and now it’s time to f**k back.

Whenever I hear stories like this it really makes me angry. Now, I don’t personally know this woman nor do I even know the whole story so I can’t judge her either there are always two sides to a story. I do know that a woman should not depend on child support because child support isn’t just for a woman and her expenses it is for the child and whatever he or she may need. That is where many women get caught up. It isn’t your check it is the child’s check and stop being lazy and get up and work. Regardless, of whether or not the father may have money to be able to provide for the child it is the mother’s responsibility as well. If you can’t support your child or children please make better decisions such as taking precautions against having children. A man and his money is not and should not be your provider or life line. Yes, I am a single mother and I take care of my daughter. There are times when I struggle but that is apart of life and all it does it make me a stronger woman.

I am a single father of two girls and I don’t ask my ex-wife for any child support. Child suppoort is a ball and chain (for some, not all) for those who really can’t afford it. People make mistakes all the time, but my point is it should be “support”, not to support the lifestyle of an individual. She (TI’s ex)gets way more money a month then I make in a month and if I can support my girls by myself then she should be able to do better then I me. And trust me, my daughter’s standard of living is good. So, his baby mama is no better then a thief seeking an opportunity to steal whenever she can, but the day the money stops coming in, she is going to wish she had asserted herself an got an education and had a career started, I bet you my bottom dollar.

I’ve read the comments on this page only not sure if any woman chimed in as yet but I’m a woman collecting child support from my x-husband.for our 3 children and let’s get it straight, I don’t want him. Just want him 2 help me with the kids initially I told him I never wanted 2 put him in the system but sometimes men give women no choice. In the beginning all I asked of my then separated x was 2 help me with day care, he refused! Then I told him simply 2 b a father 2 his 3 children, he refused. Told him its free 2 take them 2 the park or play video games with them. He wouldn’t . Then when I was working 2 jobs and going 2 nursing school he worked a block away from their school and lived 2 blocks from the school he wouldn’t even get the kids from school 4 me. Now he has 6 kids from 4 woman I got teen agers who’s needs r endless he gives me 33 dollars per week per child and still expects me 2 do everything else 4 them the $192 every 2 weeks can’t feed my oldest son who’s 6’2 180lbs @ age 14!not every woman who collect child support is trifling some of us struggle and catch our ass 2 get where we r and child support was put in place 2 pervent dead beat dads! I know some chics take advantage of the system so they make it look bad 4 all of us! The system is broke. It’s designed to go after dead beat dad’s but does nothing against dead beat moms. In fact they act like the later doesn’t exist in this world but trust me it does. I see it quite often or worst some supposed to be mom looking out for her kids is using child support to get back at her x. I’m not saying any dead beat should get away with anything. IM not a father…not yet hehehe, nobody claiming preggy or nothing but I believe child support should be EQUAL responsibility. we need a national rate. ie Determine monetary needs- on average scale- “School supplies, band or boy scout, football, volleyball social activity cost clothes,average food (not daily steak n S’KRIMps or SHicken) a portion of living expenses allowence, decent average of toys play things etc.
the cost of all that should be divided 50-50 , Father should foot that bill either by choice or by force.

Why shouldn’t his kids have the same lifestyle comforts that he has. I don’t see any problems with rich dads/moms paying a lot for their kids. Does it make sense that he would live in a mansion and his kids live a small apartment sharing rooms. So many people who aren’t with their kids everyday don’t know all the costs it takes to raise them. Kids are expensive. And to the guy who complained and the mother spending the child support on the rent, you need to be slapped. Ok now first of all, as a single parent getting child support my self i kinda feel where she is coming from. T.I. should be paying more than what he pays her for child support. Its crazy to me all that money he makes and he only has to pay her $5,000 for two kids. Like almond eyes said look at all the money that nas is paying kelis for jus one child. The courts went easy on T.I. bout the money situation. But one thing that people dont realize is that not only does he have to pay child support but he also pays for thier education and medical expenses so i guess it kinda evens out. The only issue that i see with her is that SHE DONT WORK. Now come on now child support is not to pay ur bills its to support the child. I work every day and get child support and still barely make it. Yes i use some of the money to help pay the bills. And their is nothing wrong with that. But first and foremost my son is taken care of.

If he was to take full custody of their children she wouldn’t have it and if she was to order to pay chid support she will wonder why? it doesn’t take more than 60,000 a year to take care of 2 children especially when anything they want all they have to do is ask, and he covers schooling, and clothes. she wants her life financed. thats just like the rest of the women getting ridiculous amounts of child support.

There’s nothing wrong with getting $5,000 a month in child support for two kids. That’s $60,000 a year. More than what the average single mom makes with a job and child support. And if she’s living in a small apartment with the kids sharing rooms, then something is wrong with that picture because obviously she is doing something else with that money. I don’t believe that the children have to live the exact same lifestyle as their father unless he provides it for them himself. I know that there are plenty of “baby mamas” who look forward to getting child support to support themselves. I am not a baby mama and I am my son’s mother and the mother of my ex’s son. I use the $370 a month to pay rent, bills, buy my son clothes and other things, along with my income. It’s a damn shame that women like that make it harder for women like me who struggle even with child support. Checks being late or the father loses or quits his job. I never asked my son’s father for a lot but just to help out. And it’s sad that he barely wanted to do that in fear that I was spending the money on myself and he wanted to control what I did with it.

Albeit, it’s none of his business what I do with the money, but best believe, there are times I go without in order to get what my son needs. But it’s women like this who get greedy cause their lazy asses don’t wanna work and be like Real BabyMamas of ATL.

Child support is just what the name defines: support for the child. This support is not limited to, clothes, food and toys. There are so many other aspects of supporting a child. How about mentally, emotionally, verbally, economically, spiritually, to name a few? When there is an absent parent, they have to play their part and the part of the other parent. Stress is money. When a parent has to continue to counsel a destructive child or help a depressed or suicidal kid, that causes stress, which in turn causes a person to take medicine which equals shelling out money.

I do agree that the amounts of money that these celebrities are having to pay is astronomical. It really does not take $55,000 per month to care for a 3-week old child or any aged child for that matter. The courts decide by percentage and they take that percentage out of the parent with the greater income. To me, I feel that they may be imposing punitive damages on these absent parents.

Many women do take advantage of this privilege by choosing to not work or using the money on things not related to their child. But ALL women are not that way, one commentator below said the same thing that I do…use the money to pay bills, get food, etc. The money should be COUPLED with the income of the custodial parent to provide 100% for the child. Child support is not, and should not be, the childs ONLY support.

Black people really need to do a better job controlling their anger and taking ownership for their contributions to their lives. T.I. and Tiny would be the first ones to yell that he is a good father, but what type of example are you setting by speaking negatively about the mother of your child. You may dislike or even hate her but you have to remember that her d.n.a is running through your child; for that reason alone you should give her respect. I work full-time, but even with the child support money, there is still a struggle. But I don’t place blame on my daughter’s father. We communicate with each other and are honest about job and lifestyle changes, so that the correct amount of support can be assessed for our chid. Although we are no longer together, it is imperative (an a form of emotional support) to get along for the sake of the child.

Life is a struggle plain and simple and people can not expect to be compensated everytime there is an adversity that shows up in their life.

I am feelin this cut from T.I cause I have gone through the same thing Let’s face it the child support laws are biased they go with WHATEVER THE WOMAN SAYS! I hae NEVER had a problem psying my childsupport or wanting to be in my childs life, which no matter how much you pay, it’s still up to that woman if you can see your child or children. It’s way more important for a Father to be in his childrens life than paying the mother, who most mothers 9 times out of 10 don’t even use the money for the children. Now I do know that TI and Lashon were living together and at one point engaged it didn’t work out but he has continued to be an excellent father I know this because I know them both He even put her in a house and bought her a car, but she keeps asking for more. Now to me that is wrong sounds like she is jealous of what Tiny is getting, and To FoxyBrown and other ladies who keep calling tiny ugly guess what to TI she is the most Goregeous woman in the World and thats all that matters she has been down with and for him like 4 flat tires No matter what! That right there means more to a guy than what others thinks she looks like, Her heart makes her fine as hell. Tiny is a good woman, just because a woman is pretty doesn’t mean she is a good one. His sons mother needs to get up off her sorry ass and get a job and quit looking for hand outs period!

I am going tru the whole “friend of the court,” situation myself and it’s crap. For one, they forced me to pay child support to my legally married wife who was living with me at the time with our kids. She didn’t file a case, but medicaid payed for the delivery for my youngest because I got laid off because of 9/11 and lost my health insurance. We had to go together several days and take off of work to have the magistrate and prosecuter tell us to beat it and they’re taking the money anyway. I am going to say this again, she didn’t file on me and we went together and explained to the magistrate that she did not wish for this to happen and that we were married and living together for years before they decided to do this. Also, the bill was a couple of years old. The magistrate basically told me I was a piece of crap and I could go wash cars or something and pay up. I eventually got another job an put my face to the grindstone to take care of my family. Of course I was still trying to get this nonsense dismissed the whole time. Of course they started taking money and keeping a good portion of it even though my wife found a job that had benifits and we were not on state aid. When the checks came I just cashed them and payed the same bills that were alloted to that money anyway but it was on principle. It took over two years to get the case shelved. I’m gonna say it again, we were married and living together the whole time. It was just a hot mess. Me and my wife split up a while back. No animosity, no hatred, no problem with us working together. Guess what, they re-opened the case when she lost her health insurance and I lost mine. We had to get medicaid for our kids again. No other state aid and nothing for the adults. Never mind she didn’t file this time either because I was going above and beyond and we didn’t have a problem with the arrangement. I got hit by a drunk driver on the way from work one day and shortly was let go when I couldn’t work. Appered in front of the judge with my police report and medical records and explained the situation looking for some type of understanding considering neither one of us re-opened the case. Basically I was told to beat it and it doesn’t matter what i’m going thru just pay up. They’re so terrible with it, they don’t even give her all of the money, they keep like 40%. They won’t even give her any help nor do they pay on time even though I do. I feel lucky in a way because the woman on the other side of my situation actually gives a damn about what happens to me and she’s not trying to destroy me. I know people who can’t see their children even after the court orders visitation but they still go to jail if they don’t pay like the court says to pay. I have homeboys who are paying but the children lives with them. Everybody’s trying to go thru the system but the system is so slanted toward males it doesn’t really matter what is going on with us. I feel T.I.’s frustration. To adress the hateful women who are with this type of thing I have several points to make. Number one, you chose that man who fathered that child so it’s just as much if not more your fault. Unless he took it, you let him get in it. Either you used bad judgement and chose somebody who wasn’t any good in the first place or you chose someone who is a good guy but you ran him off. You should bear just as much of the responsibility to take care of the kid(s). Comments about 24/7 daycare is bulls**T because there is no wage for taking care of your responsibility that you help create. It seems to me, based on the situations I happen to have personal knowledge about, these situations are rarely about the kids. The man is being punished because you and he are not together reguardless of whose choice it was to not be together. Therefore, you feel justified for trying to keep that man on his back because you won’t accept him shining without him. If some of you wouldn’t have two or three kids with three of four baby daddies you wouldn’t be on your knuckles. If you wouldn’t have had a child with someone who already had kids he couldn’t take care of you wouldn’t be in the judges face with your hand out. If you didn’t have that baby to keep that man you may have actually kept that man. Or better yet, you would’ve realized that you shouldn’t be trying to keep that man and moved on with no ties. What man who is doing something with their life would deal with you and your baggage? That’s right nobody! Your hateful a$$ disposition and irresponsible ways will guarantee that you will never have anybody worth having nor will you be worth having. It’s always about you and not the kids. You don’t give a damn about the kids. You just want to be taken care of with someone elses hard work. You’re trash!!! Get your own you b***h. Now, I do take into the account the women who are out here making it do whatever it is it’s gonna do. I not knocking you if you were doing your part and dude was doing his and it just wasn’t working. Life is like that sometimes. I know a lot of women just like you and they seem to eventually find a signifigant other and live the good life as a couple. Keep your head up, just don’t turn into a bitter b***h in the process. I don’t have baby mama’s and side kids out here because I made choices to avoid that. My four children are by the same woman who I did marry. I’m fortunate because I don’t have to fight to see my children. I don’t have another man doing my job and I don’t have another woman doing hers. I am blessed to not have other reproductions of me out there with different women with different issues. I’m extra fortunate that my kids are healthy and I am getting ready to make sure I can’t have any more. Sorry if i’m rambling.

I think SOME people take full advantage of the child support system, My theory is this, “you get more without a support order”, IF you have that stand up person that takes care of resonsibility. My son pays $25 a wk in support, all because his b.m. thought she was gonna hit jackpot f**king with my money, WRONG. My son is still in school and that is all his is ordered to pay. Before she asked for support my son and my family made dam sure my grandson did not want for nothing, then the order came down and the courts said that’s all he had to pay, nothing more, nothing less. My point is this NOONE in a black robe can tell me how much money to spend on my child and when I can and can’t see them. that is just bull!!!!!!! Secondly to greedy ass women out there grow up and get a clue, you do know that if you are on welfare, they take all of your support for the month except for $50.00, so how is that helping your child. Think about it you are oreder to get $300.00 a month supportm but if you get welfare all you will see is 50 because welfare took the other $250. to replace the money your ass took in the first place.

purchases food
purchases diapers
pays daycare tuition
buys schools supplies and school uniforms

Come on ladies. I am so tired of hearing about these baby mommas asking for more and more child support. Child support is supposed to be to supplement the mothers income so that she can raise the child without struggling. It’s not doing a real good job of keeping dudes from popping out kid after kid, but it is at least helping the moms to raise them. It doesn’t matter how much a celeb makes, there needs to be a damn cut off point. She ain’t doing nothing but sitting on her ass tryna make money from TI. It has nothing to do with the kid because any reasonable person can see that raising a child is expensive but if people can do it with minimal incomes, I’m pretty sure these baby mommas can do it with the Gs they get monthly from these celebs. And I think him putting her on blast is a good thing. too many of these chicks want a raise as soon as their baby daddy makes some money but I bet if he WAS doing her she would be quiet. I disagree. TI fertilized that woman’s eggs…on multiple occasions. As a result, he has SONS. He made them…they are TI’s sons. He is the father of his sons. (I’m not sure if everyone is understanding this.) After the relationship with the mother ends, he is still a father…she is a mother. If the mother has sole custody of TI’s children, he is still a father and is financially responsible for “taking care of” his children, hence “child support,” especially since he does not actively raise his own children and has left that 24-hour/365-day a year JOB (and personal responsibility) to the mother while he is off doing whatever the hell he feels like…moving on and and making other children with another woman. You say $60,000 is enough to take care of his sons…that’s coming from the perspective of people who think $60,000 is a lot of money. If his sons are growing up in a ghetto rented townhouse while TI’s other children are going to private school, have a nanny, an in-house chef, multiple residences, and generally a life of privilege far removed from his SONS with the first woman, then that’s not fair. His work allows for his family to live a certain lifestyle that he has the means to maintain for all of his children equally…but it is inherently separate and unequal for his SONS with the first mother. So yes…as a mother of TI’s children, watching him spend, in one day, on his other family, more than he spends in five years on your children…and your children are already inherently emotionally and mentally disadvantaged (as compared to the children that he actively raises, loves, and lives with)…that would be an issue for most people in that situation. My point: $60,000 is not criminally negligent, but it is not overly generous either…it should depend on how much he makes. That being said, the money itself is not and should not be the issue. I think TI is more upset about the entire situation and resentment towards the first mother’s unambitious lifestyle…with her being the mother of his children and the main one raising them, she has a lot of influence on their values. But to call her a B**** on the sole issue of money when their father is clearly and openly living a very expensive lifestyle with his second family…that is not rational to me. On the gender aspect, this would also apply to an ordinary man who married/fathered a child with a multi-millionaire FEMALE celebrity if he chose to raise the children…she needs to pay up and not some sad $60,000 a year if she can afford it….but this rarely happens…men want to “take the easy way out”/have the woman raise the kids, but don’t want to pay the price.

T.I should file for joint custody and keep his kids half the year,during that time,the mother should pay HIM child support.As for the other 6 months,she should get a reasonable amount,but not enough to allow her to not have to work.She should not be given a free pass in life just because her childrens father is wealthy.

As a baby mom and a wife of a man who has a baby mom i agree and disagree… I dont get support for my child but her dad makes plenty money… does he send any nope… and my husband pays cs and the chick still got her hand out… so to everyone who has nasty comments…are you going through it…what if it was you or yours?

well the way i see it is who ever don’t have the kid full time could help with child support but that kinda of pay t.i. is having to pay is crazy just cause he a singer and i think now days that the judge could start making the parent that has the kids with no jobs getting this child support make them get a job if they make all these people pay for kids then they could make these no jobs people get jobs i know that there is help with child care these days so don’t give a excuse of that the way i see things is if a person spreads them legs and keeps it then they are saying that they can take care of this child
