Before all of the assault drama with Chris Brown, Rihanna had been working to publicize the plight of 6-year-old leukemia patient Jasmina Anema, who is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.

The singer took Anema’s search for a suitable donor to People magazine, “Access Hollywood” and other media outlets, hoping to increase the amount of African Americans in the donor pool.

On April 2, Rihanna made time for a surprise visit to Jasmina’s room at NYU Medical Center, where the two ended up spending three hours together talking, playing and even indulging in a slumber party-like pillow fight, reports People.com.

“She’s really here!” Jasmina exclaimed when Rihanna came in, shoeless, to prevent the spread of germs. “You are such a beautiful little girl,” the singer told Jasmina.
