It is truly so sad the way some speak on this topic as if they were actually in the car with the couple… Surely, it’s wrong for any man to strike any woman in an abusive manner…we all know or should know that as adults, however, we do not know the circ**stances or how regretful this young man is that he was out of control, influenced or otherwise provoked to allow things to escalate to this level. I believe in foregiveness where it is warranted, but this is not about whether any of us foregives him or not since he didn’t do anything to us. Ok, maybe I missed something…but has there been full disclosure from either party on what happened on the night in question? As a parent, my instinct would be to want to hurt whomever hurts my child, but I would logically know that doing so would not solve anything. We need to approach these matters with maturity and dignity, and make sure that the law handles it responsibly. If the laws for abusers (spousal, child, pet alike) are not tough enough, we need to get with out legislature about that. Either way abuse is abuse. I know women may lash out at me for saying this but we do not know if Rihanna did anything to provoke him. A few years ago, my oldest son was put in a situation like this. When “She” was around the family and friends, she was the perfect girlfriend. However, behind closed doors, she was psycho. In the beginning, my son wouldn’t tell me what was going on, but after she went too far, he called me and I told him to leave immediately. As he tried to leave, she attacked him and he reacted and it almost caused him his freedom. Thank God, he didn’t. Unfortunately (or fortunately for my son) for her, she ended up having a child with a older man who beat her because he refused to put up with her mess. She still stalks him online to this day, even though he refuses to acknowledge her existence.

Just like the radio stations and other people who pulled out of various endorsements with Chris Brown, I think people are starting to finally a strong stand against violence against women. My 14 yr old daughter is/was a huge Chris Brown fan and I had to break the news to her about this (she took it in stride).I was asked (as part of a homework assignment) to make up a premarital counselling curriculum and mine involved domestic violence and anger management (how to avoid entering the point of no return). I know it sounds corny, but, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I think it’s time to teach the time honored solution of walking away and cooling off when things get too heated and learning that when a spouse/partner needs that space to cool off to give it to them.

Well when I heard how Rihanna said this isn the first time he has hit her and now she is taking him back, the first thing I did think of was OJ and Nicole. They kept getting back together and he still ended up beating her. Hearing that Chris Brown threatened to kill was alarming too. If they continue to be together and it keeps happening over and over again as time grows it will be harder for him to let go of her and he can hit a boiling point.

A victim of abuse is not in her right mind. You could be the most beautiful, intelligent, talented person on earth. I thought that was well said. I’m not a fan of Chris Brown, and being a fan should not matter. What matters is the principle behind the whole thing. I did find his apology to be pathetic, and Rosanne was right. He sounded no different from any other dude who goes to court for being up his lady. Fan or not, there is no reason for a lady to have her face beaten in like that. I don’t care who started it first, but something tells me that this won’t be the last time we see these two have a fall out. Just because it’s Hollywood does not make anyone immune from domestic violence. What Roseanna said seems very correct to me. While there is no excuse to beating a woman the way that C.B did to Rihanna i strongly feel that she was in the wrong also. As a father of two daughters and someone who see’s domestic violence and abuse everyday in my job i know first hand that there is far too much of it in the world. I truly agree that though Chris as a man should be able to control emotions enough that he does not strike, in anger multiple times the woman he says he loves. But…. Well I’ve been trying to wait until the dust settles a bit before I added my 2 cents… I’ve been there had a couple of girlfriends that would start fights by hitting first and that behavior didn’t stop until they knew for a fact they would be getting hit back!!!! I think if we as society stop putting celebs on the “TOP SHELF” so to speak that their egos and actions would calm down. This situation isn’t out of the ordinary. It happens everyday. What because they make big loot they can’thave problems and get into altercations. Money doesn’t do anything but make your problems look bigger. Men and Women are being beat by there significant other everyday but it isn’t nationalized and carried on for weeks and weeks. This is a waste of time and space. I personally don’t care because it’s not gonna stop them from being together. And as for saying things about cutting off hiss moolah baby!!! Y? If he was an average everyday joe you wouldn’t take his $$$$ b/c he beat his gurl. So let’s move on with our lives and say fu@k their. Shyt let them do them. It’s notour choice. Let’s focus on the million’s and billon’s that sleep on the street every night. All the money that has been put into this could have possibly brought another shelter and saved sum of them. Or what about all the people losing their jobs. The MOOLAH spent on this probably could of brought a few jobs for people who really need them. COME ON AMERICA GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT!!!!

I agree with you “num1sexymae26″.Since whe is domestic violence headline news???Nobody knows the full truth about what exactly happened in that car or even throughout the whole relationship but them.This isn’t worth wasting weeks of precious time,trying to keep up with their court dates and what-nots. Leave them alone,they are both very young & will have success after this.
People should be ashamed of theirselves,a person can do so much & it heightens their career,but Chris Brown makes one mistake & all of a sudden,his career is on the rocks.Come on!!Rihanna is not the first woman to get beat & she won’t be the last,stop playing victim when she has her own faults.Let her own up to what she’s also done.If it was an everyday person,you wouldnt see it in the papers the next day,plastered all over the news for a month after the incident.Lets concentrate on what really needs to be fixed like our economy,people losing their homes & jobs.

I’ll continue to support them because they are very talented.Nobody takes away a powerful CEO’s company when they do wrong…so why try & take his money??That shouldn’t even be a factor in this case.
