Since the early days of rock and roll, through the evolution of R&B and hip-hop, and up to the present day, white musicians have had a long history of shooting to super-stardom in traditionally Black genres. While some have been more welcomed by Black America than others, their work has never failed to attract plenty of attention.

From the famous to the infamous, the classic to the controversial, here are ten of the most recognizable white faces in Black music, and some of their greatest hits.

    Nice try homie, but I don’t think, you’re “in the know” to be putting together lists. White acts accepted by blacks didn’t just start in the 90s and putting Elvis there was off the topic. Elvis was a re-recorder of black hit records. James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, etc. get a clue

    Peter Frampton, he made some hot black-soulful songs. he was one of the first people to use the voice synthesizer and also influenced Roger Troutman
