With the new MTV channel going to kick things off by running Eminem’s comeback video all day, The Urban Daily figured that it would showcase the Top 10 Dr. Dre Beats.

Check out these videos below and share your thoughts in the comments section!

10. Snoop Doggy Dogg, “What’s My Name”:

- Very close to one of my favorites that also makes it on the list, but this touched a different realm of production.

9. Dr. Dre, “What’s The Difference”:

- When I had a car, this was thrown on repeat as I whipped around the streets!

8. Dr. Dre, “Keep Their Heads Ringin’”:

- I didn’t really like this song that much and most Dre fans were hoping for a Dre/Cube collabo album, but throw this on at a party and people will boogie to it.

7. D.O.C, “It’s Funky Enough”:

- Is it funky enough? Yes. Still a banger!

6. The Firm, “Phone Tap”:

- Dre showed that he could pimp out the East, just like he did with the West. Nas still probably owes Mr. Young a check for this one.

5. N.W.A., “Real Niggaz Don’t Die”:

- Dre must love dirty, dark bass guitars and with N.W.A. at their most aggressive on this track, it’s a shame that the group went out the way it did.

4. Lady of Rage, “Afro Puffs”:

- Rage owed her career to this track, but Dre should’ve learned how to nurture the femme fatale MC’s skills. She’s one of the hardest to rock a mic.

3. Dr. Dre, “Xxplosive”:

- Not everyone caught the Isaac sample, but with Nate and Kurupt delivering their best performances at the time, Dre was in a whole ‘nother league.

2. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, “Ain’t Nothing But A G Thang”:

- This IS Dr. Dre and he made the West sound like it should. A next-to-perfect track.

1. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, “Deep Cover”:

- In any and every hood, this song gets love and with anything that came from the good Doctor, Snoop had to make sure it came off right for the G’s and the hustlers. An all-mighty and powerful beat from Dr. Dre!

Str8 up… most of these “DRE” beats posted here came from Parliment samples and G thang is George Dukes “dookie stick”

Dr. Dre has made some very original and bangin production but c’mon with givin people credit for other peoples music… that is musical blasphemy!

This list aint worth a damn, and deep cover was a nice track but I damn sure wouldnt put that at his best beat, “keep their heads ringin” and “real niggaz dont die” r my 2 favorite on this particular list…

they should do a top ten list for Premier…

TOTALLY INCORRECT FROM 1 TO 10.WHERE’S DRE’S BEST KNOWN HIT’S ,”GIN AND JUICE”,”STILL DRE “,”THE NEXT EPISODE”,”LET ME RIDE” AND ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE’S ,”DRE DAY”.SOME OF THESE HIT’S SHOULDN’T HAVE MADE THA LIST IN MY OPINION.

Maaan, I disagree homeboye…I might give props on three of the 10 as being the best from Dre but, you’ve forgot about some real Karrrazzzaayy tracks that he layed for the D.O.C. like “The Formula” and “No One Can Do It Better”. Even those tracks are heavy loops, those tracks are far more impressive than the “Silvers” loop. As for the joints he made for N.W.A., “Gangsta, Gangsta” stood out to be one of his rawest beats on the first album. Oh, let me not forget “A B***h is A B***h”, “Dopeman”, “Eightball” and of course “Straight Outta Compton”. Either one of those could’ve been in THIS top ten. Probably the best track he had during his N.W.A. days was on the “Niggas 4 Life” album “Always Into Something” was a HELL OF A BANGER. On Eazy-E’s solo joint “Eazier Said Than Dunn” was another sick one from the Doc. You also forgot about “Tha Dogg Pound’s” “What Would You Do”. Maaan, if you go back to check out all of his bangers, you’d have a waaay different list than you have now. From his days with World Class Wreckin’ Crew to the days with N.W.A. from his time on Death Row to now with the Aftermath joints. Most of those are his biggest hits but not his tightest joints. You put this list together without songs from Eminem, 50 Cent, Tha DPG Gang, Tupac or Sam Sneed? Like Sam once said “Think You Better Recognize”. By the way…to my man Stan Vinyl… The song “G-Thang” is looped from Leon Haywood’s “I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You”. Check it out.

would be a horrible list if Dr Dre actually made all of those beats- a few i’m not sure about but i kno for a fact Dre didnt make at least 4 of those-
what you think he had daz, mel man and sam sneed for?– the list should read BEATS DRE TOOK CREDIT FOR

How come that 50 cent “in da club” beat is not on here? that has to be one of the best as soon as you hear it you cant help but move your head and i agree with the majority about dre stealing beats he might put his signature on them but a lot are not his from start to finish

This list is some s**t man. Whoever put this list together needs to be hung up by their thumbs!

A very dissapointing list for someone who has done so much more. Its 2009 already, can we start giving props to more recent material which is now classic. We know the classics are classics but that doesnt make them the best. This is disrespectful to the artform that people are comming into just because you want to be safe knowing nobody want to downtalk older s**t. Da 2001 album is a classic RIGHT NOW!!
The whole list should have been about that. DRE DAY WAS PERFECTION. Do your reserch folks.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/JECJAYMES/ JECJAYMES

Oh yeah an 2 pacs California(both beats) gotta be on there

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/MikeHaynes1/ MikeHaynes1

Dre didnt make the truth hurts beat….DJ Quik did. Dre didnt make a lot of those beats (like Prince didnt make a lot of those beats). But the song “I Like feat. Yero” on Knocturnal’s (horrible rappin azz) album is an unknown classic.

Stranded on Deathrow has to be one of the greatest beats ever created.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/phillysoul34/ phillysoul34

We can’t forget Stranded on Deathrow. Thats one of the illest beats of all time.

I wasnt really impressed with this list…Dre is no more of a beat maker than Diddy or Timbaland. These guys are snakes because they take beats by other less known beatmakers (or popular songs) and claim them as their own. They are great producers no doubt and they are great hit makers but thats where the line stops. lets be real Dre isnt the best beat maker of all time. But he has made some classic songs. O and I think:
“keep their heads ringing” and “what’s my name” should have been much closer to the top of the list…and where is “let me ride” at on this list?
