Tone Loc Collapses During Concert

Rapper Tone Loc, best known for late-’80s hits “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina,” collapsed early Friday morning during a concert at Capt’n Fun Beach Club on Pensacola Beach.

The performer, who was born Anthony Terrell Smith, was taken away in an ambulance, and did not appear to be fully conscious.

It was unclear what caused the rapper’s collapse. During his performance, which was cut short after about six songs, Tone Loc remarked several times about the heat and humidity.

The open-air club on the Portofino Boardwalk is subject to weather conditions, which included temperatures in the low 80s and humidity of about 87 percent, according to weather reports – not unusual for this time of year. Based on a visual estimate, the club was filled to about two-thirds of its capacity at the time of the performance.

    I seeing a lot of t’all idiots talking about how Tone Loc is fat and all that. Do you remember Notorious B.I.G.? He was as big as a house! and then somew, yet, if someone were to say that s**t, it’d be a crime. It just ain’t right how fickle you people are. One minute you like someone(When they’re hot) The next, you’re dissing them like crazy(When they’re not). It’s a damn shame y’all can’t think for yourselves.

    Haters are everywhere, at least he is still doing his thing, as old as he is!!!! Everybody knows his songs and i would probably go check him out if he came to my area. So hopefully this little incident doesnt stop him.
