J.T. Money got his start in the Miami based hip-hop group Poison Clan which was discovered by Uncle Luke in the early 90s.
Poison Clan had a few mildly successful regional hits, like “Don’t Sleep On A Hizzo,” but it wasn’t until JT Money went solo and released his single “Who Dat,” that he had a bonafide hit on his hands.
“Who Dat” went straight to #1 on Billboard’s Rap chart, and #5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The single also went gold.
JT’s album, Pimpin’ On Wax didn’t sell as expected, and all of his follow up singles couldn’t match the chart and sales success of “Who Dat.”
