We have no idea how new this is, but it’s still new to us!

It sounds like an unfinished demo (in the true sense of the term, not as how someone like oh…. Dr Dre would use it) but it also sounds like a snapshot of a great song that’s in the middle of the creative process.

    Open Letter to Lauryn Hill:

    L-Boogie, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD COME BACK! We need your music again to revive Hip Hop and give the young black youth hope for the future in this time of turmoil. Young black girls need your influence Lauryn because they are now wearing pink wigs and dying their real hair green because they idolize a clown by the name of Nicki Minaj. Young black girls are walking around thinking it’s cool to be homosexual/bi-sexual because male rappers such as T.I. said “MY GIRL GOT A GIRLFRIEND”. These young black kids are loss and it’s sad for me to say, but today’s rap music is their only influence because they lack foundation in the home. If you put your influence back in Hip Hop (Real Hip Hop) maybe, just maybe today’s youth can be saved. The music industry is polluted with wanna-be thugs, Drake, who disrespect black women by saying he WILL F**K THE SH*T OUT OF THEM. Lauryn Hill, PLEASE BRING YOUR SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE BACK TO MUSIC!

    @Jordan_Mom Interesting discussion. But we can’t fault the rappers. People like Wyclef and Common got on when the getting was good. But they also have other ventures to make money off of besides the rapping career. I gurantee you their record sales aint touching Kanye, 50, TI, Jay-Z Jehovah, Nas, or Lil Wayne. But Common and Wyclef have other avenues an ways of making money in the music buisness and beyond. They are not just rappers. But other posistive rappers have faded out. What happen back in the day we were flooded with posistive political rap. But today can young people even relate to that. Sure people thirty and over may want to hear it. But what about 12 to 15 year old cousin. Would he want to listen to common. Is that something he would be like yo check this out partna this that new joint. I dont think so.

    People Like Ti and 50 make music for one reason. To make money. Its about the money not spreading messages. If spreading messages made record sales surely more blacks would do so. But the Market is what we must appeal to. You can put out posistive music. But the question is who will be listening to it. Not the youth. They would just keep searching for the next interesting thing. Now when you watch movies. Do you watch a bunch of posistive movies like Bill Cosby show or do you watch movies that are horror, sexual content and violence? I personally look at alot of sex and violence. I mean true the good message is great. But i wanna be entertained or excited.

    First of all you got men and women trying to get posistive rap out there. But unfortunately the white jews ain’t going to promote or back that kinda of music. They could careless if your trying to help your people. They are the ones responsible for whats put out. So rap today is controlled by the Jews. If you want to get music out…They will only put out what they see as acceptable for your people. Frankly some music is just extreme for them to back, fund or promote. They wouldnt feel comfortable with those sorta of messages…So the problem aint so much the rappers its the whites who control the money. An its the market who pays for certain types of music. There is alot of posistive rap out there. But people just dont buy it here. Our minds is on something else. I am sure everyone in here can name ten rappers who are all about the community and building in their lyrics. But can your children name them? Do your children listen to them and talk about them in school. No whats played on the radio, telelvision, in the clubs and so forth is what is mandated by the white powers that be. So again the solutions is to remove the problem. Then rappers can freely choose what they want to do.

    Bu another problem too is desire, experience and passion. Each rapper has something in him that he brings to his talent. Not everyone can be wyclef or common or dead prez. Some people don’t have that in them. Now someone like TI might be able to switch. But 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and Birdman. Do you really think they got it in them to produce something other than what they doing. Everyone got their niche some are good at coming up with rhymes that are posistive. But others are better at darkness. It depends on whats on the inside of you!

    The song is great, it doesn’t need to be overproduced, it’s got a simple flavor and I think it’s intentional, if not, I’d like more music like this.

    I absolutely love the song and the Sister who is singing it! I really hope she spits some nice rhymes on her new cd. Hip Hop and R&B will be invigorated by Lauryn Hill’s prescence. I’m defintely looking forward to her performance at this summer’s Rock The Bells concert.

    When you came to Toronto, Canada with just your guitar, a stool & short hair I payed to watch you do your thing. I shook your hand and thanked you for reminding me of what a truly gifted artist can really do no matter what the circ**stances. I would do it all again, if I had the chance.
