Even if you don’t partake in smoking marijuana, you’ve probably sung along to this song at some point in your life. Oakland’s The Luniz, aka Yukmouth and Numskull, scored a major hit in 1995 with their ode to the dimebag, “I Got 5 On It.”

Built around a sample of Club Nouveau’s “Why You Treat Me So Bad,” the song raced up the charts, landing at number 8 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and number 4 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The song’s remix featured a host of Bay Area hip-hop legends including E-40, Dru Down, Spice 1, Shock G and Richie Rich.  The remix was also a nationwide smash.

The group released several more albums and singles, but in true one-hit wonder fashion, none of their albums and singles could match the success of “I Got 5 On It.”
