Usher Regrets Missing BET Awards

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –One of Michael Jackson’s biggest fans, Usher, was unable to attend the BET Awards on Sunday night in LA, but the singer told Access Hollywood he is planning to honor the King of Pop when he returns stateside.
“It is with regret that I [was] unable to participate in the BET Awards Tribute to Michael Jackson on June 28,” Usher said in a statement released to Access.
“When the BET Awards producers and organizers reached out to me to participate in the tribute, I was extremely flattered and humbled by the opportunity to pay tribute to the world’s greatest musical icon,” the statement continued. “Unfortunately, I am currently overseas and would not make it back in time to the Awards show.”
Though Usher was not able to celebrate Jackson on Sunday, the singer revealed he has a tribute honoring the late singer in the works.
“I look forward to seeing the show and I plan to work on a tribute to Michael Jackson when I return,” Usher said.

Can anyone tell me when a BET award show has not sucked? They could have postponed it for a year and it still would have been second-rate, second-class, and mind-numbing crap.
I to felt that it probably should have been put back a week, to really do what they needed. And damn who thinksd differently. We appreciate what they did try and do, because EVERYBODY loved MJ. and to whoever said R Kelly need to sit down, *itch please, R kelly had it going on, hes very talented and musical. Your ass probably was buying all his CDS and playing his music, so SHUT THE *UCK UP.

lol@ the dumb azz who said push the show back. obviously you dont know anything about planning an event this huge. they did the best they could do in a short time. keep in mind everybody had to rehearse as well as come up with this material. Mike just died a few days ago. so move on and do your own damn tribute and postt it on youtube!!
Neo Soul and R&B are 2 different genre’s… chris brown, lloyd, robin thicke, and r.kelly are all in their own category.. the rest are mostly Neo Soul… cus personally, I haven’t heard the rest of those artist do a dance song… lol
The awards sucked….they rushed it to add micheal jackson..but they should have pushed it back so they could do it right..the performers sucked…bey,ciara,keisha&monica..they shouldn’t even came out on stage. MARY MARY was good and OJAYS and TREY SONGS,JOHNNY,TYRESSE..AND MAXWELL DID GREAT.
