VIDEO: Hip-Hop For Thought, Curtain’s “Black Folks”
I love director Gabriel Hart’s work, particularly when he does hip-hop videos because he always manages to dig deep and come up with the most thought provoking images. His new video for Curtains “Black Folks” is no different. The video premiered yesterday on MTV, but I haven’t heard much talk about it.
I know some people believe that with Obama in the White House race has become less of an issue, but is there ever a time to stop questioning the status quo. Curtains touches on some very real issues, but is anybody listening? Watch the video below:
“Black Folks” will be rotating during two different MTV shows: MTV JAMS & THE FRESHMEN. Curtains second mixtape “The Great Adventures of Dope Boy C: DoPE for President” will drop the week of June 16th.

I NEVER REALLY COMMENT ON ANYTHING, BUT THIS SONG IS “NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH” I HAD FAMILY MEMBERS FROM PAST THAT LIVED THAT SAME LIFE SO I GREW UP UNDERSTANDING IT. WE HAVE 2 TEACH OUR CHILDREN…IT STARTS WITH US!!!
I wonder how the white folks would feel if things were the opposite way. Whites were the ones being slaved, whites were the one gettin beat on by police all the time and arrested or framed. Have it being difficult for a white people to find equal opportunity employment. I wonder how they would feel if the shoe was on the other foot. But alot of people dont have the mental capacity to think that sort of way. We are supposed to be the united states but yet we are so divided.
