In his cover story for the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Lil Wayne tells an RS writer that he’s looking forward to going to jail.“This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that’s like,” he says. “I just say I’m looking forward to it.”
Weezy begins a one year jail sentence on February 9th for gun possession stemming from a 2007 arrest.

The comments about kids looking up to him… are you serious? Have you heard his lyrics? If that’s what they really look up to, then they have more serious problems then their parents will ever know. I can understand. I am going to jail on the 20th of this month. the judge was kind enough to postpone it until after graduation. I am in graduate school for my Master’s, have been working a ton and more sh*t to do on a daily basis than anyone I know. I am looking forward to having nothing to do and 0 responsibilities for a stint. I know it sounds crazy, but when you have tons of responsibilities and little sleep for years, jail time is looking like a much needed rest. At least, like me, he knows when he’s going and when he will get out; makes it easier to handle.

The question is whether he frontin for the fans or fooling himself. I myself could never look foward to jail, I may want to get it over but I’m not looking forward to it. If he’s trying to fool himself once he gets there he’ll see what it is about. And if he’s trying to fool the fans then that is just sad. I mean that kind of talk is what has the young misguided. What if he had said “I hate the thought of going to jail and dont wish it on nobody”, would it had been so bad. But then again Wayne an’t surpposed to be a role model just himself and if he wants to go to jail or looks foward to it let him go.

I’m going to reserve all thought about him…and what I think he represents to the community…because it is only an opinion…but who really wants to go to jail? and the sad thing is…many kids that look up to him don’t realize that in his twisted world…even if he goes to jail and comes out he will still have his millions (minus all the baby mamas of course) and not worry about how in the hell he’s going to get a job with a background…anyways…my point is kids that look up to him and think it’s okay to go to jail…and sadly end up there are not thinking about how this is going to affect me in the future…via job, education, etc etc…

@earlwinfrey What happened to Mike was a few yrs of looking at yourself in the mirror without being surrounded by your own hype and public ego and the mirror being a form of anger management.
Mike WAS a beast.
He also never got training how to deal with women which was his downfall.
He was the most well versed, youngest, most explosive heavyweight in history.
After starting out at the top where else is there to go?
I agree Wayne will be a cchanged man from the experience because it will give him a YEAR alone with his thoughts – which is something most people never get.
Many people wrote their best books while in jail or prison because they werent interrupted.
Tupac cranked out insane amounts of material.
Maybe thats what Wayne is thinking he can use the time for.
I think MANY rappers need to spend a year in jail just because they obviously haven’t spent much time seriously thinking by themselves and learning who they REALLY are as a person separate from what they were told to think by the games of the streets or record companies.
A LOT of that anger dissolves when you spend time looking in the mirror without your ego being stroked 24/7.
