LeBron On Women In The NBA: “10 Years Is Pushing It”

From ESPN
CLEVELAND — NBA commissioner David Stern said in an interview with Sports Illustrated he believes a woman could be playing in the league at some point in the next decade.
Cavaliers forward LeBron James isn’t so sure. The reigning NBA MVP was asked about Stern’s comments prior to the Bulls-Cavaliers game on Friday night.
“Ten years?” James asked. “That’s, like, right around the corner. [In] 10 years, I’ll be 34. I’ll still be in the NBA. I think 10 years is pushing it, honestly.”
“I love all sports,” he continued. “I love watching the girls, especially in the Olympics. They’re wonderful in the WNBA. They’re great. It’s a lot of great players. But 10 years, that’s pushing it. I think that’s pushing it.”
Cavaliers forward Anthony Parker, whose sister, Candace, is perhaps the top women’s player in the world, agreed with James.
“First of all, I don’t see why, other than to say a woman can do it,” he said. “But for long term? No way. My sister is a good player and has great skill, but as far as making an NBA roster? No. She’s 6-4, which is the average height of a shooting guard. I’m never going to say never.
“I just hope I live to see it.”

Women alway’s scream equal rights and what not.I agree they should have equal right’s.I’d want my Mother,Sister,Neices to get their equal share. They’ve got the WBNA,for a reason. The ridiculous Idea of women playing in the N.F.L.,has actually been entertained before. That’s like something that’s a good idea on paper, that should stay just that a “IDEA” nuff said.
To be honest, that is why they is the WNBA. That is the league for women. I don’t want to see a womanin the NBA getting manhandled. If she gets flagrantly fouled then that is going to be another Ike and Tina or you know who and you know who uproar. Save the drama please. Leave the WNBA up and running because that is the place where women can shine and be allowed to achieve greatness. They won’t be able to do that in a male-dominated league.

I THINK THAT STERNS IS CRAZZY, IF WOMEN PLAYED IN THE NBA IT WOULD CHANGE THE GAME, THE FOULS WOULD BE CALLED DIFFERENT! IF A MAN FOULS A WOMEN HARD, WOULD SHE TRY TO PUNCH HIM AND VICE A VERSA!I LIKE WATCHING WOMEN IN THE OLYMPICS, TENNIS, VOLLEYBALL, SOFTBALL, TRACK AND FIELD ECT, STOP TRYING TO MAKE MAN AND WOMEN EQUAL TO EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY SPORTS, YOU GONNA PUT A WOMEN THE RING, WITH FLOYD MAYWEATHER???????
Sorry ladies but I’m totally unconvinced… gotta agree with LeBron on this one.
Women… In the NBA??? LOL Why? So they can get dunked on??? LOL Anyway… All jokes aside. Men have trouble with the physicalities of an 82 game season, so how could a woman be able to withstand the punishment? Imagine Shaq fouling a woman! Or a chick trying to take a charge from LeBron! This almost ain’t even worth joking about…
just another way to make money by saving money
So when is a man going to play in the WNBA? What is the point? Only white people come up with all this crazy stupid sh*t. David Stern doesn’t even need to be the commissioner anymore with comments like these. What’s next? Women playing football in the NFL? How about baseball? Men and women are not physically the same. Why are people steady trying to make men and women equal on every level? We are the yin to each others yang. Balance. When everybody becomes a f**k*n’ man who’s going to balance the scale.
Stern only said this sh*t because everybody knows the WNBA will more than likely be done in 10 years. Nobody watches it. Watching women is just not the same. The league is losing money big time. I sure as f*ck don’t want to watch women in the NBA. H*ll, most people I know (male or female) don’t want to see it either.
