Lenny Kravitz Went Four Years Without Sex!
Lenny Kravitz has been the unmentionable especially for a rock star…been celibate for the last four years. In times where sex is just as free as in the 1970s (though with much more consequences now). Here’s a tad of his candid interview from my girl Alicia over at zimbio.com:
He was first public about his celibacy last year; now, he’s explained his decision to abstain from sex to the UK’s Telegraph. Kravitz is a Christian; he has been for a very long time. But it was only in the past several years that he challenged himself to act like one:
“It took years to get it right. To actually do it, and really try to walk the walk and not just talk it. It’s not like it’s not important – I think sex and intimacy and all that is very important. It’s just that I’m going to do it with my wife. [laughs] And not everybody else.’
I was doing my normal thing and I was with somebody, and I remember waking up in the morning thinking, “What am I doing?” It’s not that I was all over the place. It’s not, like, groupies or somebody you’d pick up on the street. I didn’t carry on like that. It was somebody that I know. But it was still, “What am I doing? And why?” And that morning I was just talking to God, as I do, and I said, “You got to help me to stop this. I just really want to stop this.” And that was the day that it changed.
But there’s more to it than that. Lenny was candid with the interviewer about his father’s constant philandering, saying that he considered himself cursed when his father claimed Lenny would do the same, eventually:
If you go and look at his history, his dad did it, he hated his dad for doing it. And then he passed the buck to me. He kind of handed that to me. And I had to wrestle with that.”

« Previous 1 2Self-imposed celibacy is a choice and so one finds the coping mechanism and realizes that sexual desire doesn’t have to control one’s life. Forced celibacy on the other hand is never a good thing because sexual desire grows stronger and eventually the individual just loses control and “goes for broke” with a casual encounter or grows so cold and bitter inside that they don’t even recognize themselves any longer and others distance themselves as well such that it becomes even harder to find a decent partner.
Toys and manual manipulation may take the edge off but it’s not the same thing and “flesh to flesh combat”. Sadly many a woman has had to go more than a year without a man but they don’t go public about it.
Interesting how Lenny decided to embrace his religious side now when he used to act like he had no religious background at all. Wonder what epiphany caused that sudden change of ways.
i know lenny was choking that chicken for a good while aint no way… u going with out the cookie with out using that hand..
some times that can be dangerous…. if you build up alot and alot of fluids in them balls turn blue or end up getting a girl pregnate before you every shoot and nut lol

this is very refreshing, especially to hear it coming from a man. we as people confuse sex with love and they are two totally different things. i applaud him and i hope more people will jump on the bandwagon. there are too many diseases out here and people are still having unprotected sex thinking it cant happen to them because they only hook up with the opposite sex…. not true. i can go on and on about this subject but i will make it short and say you must love yourself before you can love someone else and once you love yourself you will see yourself as the beautiful treasure GOD made you to be. take care and much love.

I was celibate myself for a year and a few months. I wish I would had the will power to stay that way. I’m not the type to sleep around its to much stuff out there. I’m doing the celibate thing again you get tired of the BS from men. The same ole lame BS its gets old! Some of my friends were calling me GAY. And couldn’t beleive I went without sex for so long. I really didn’t give a damn. The person that said it was mad I didn’t want to sleep with his POT BELLY ASS!! I’m strictly DICKLY!! I can’t see myself being with anybody. I’m not 20 and when you reach a certain age all that BS should go out of the window. But some of us never grow up. My sorry ex never will. Still chases woman with a BIG ASS! You can’t pay bills with it! I congratulate you Mr. Kravitz do your thing don’t worry about the haters saying you are GAY. They talked about JESUS they are going to talk about you! I love your music! i’m celibite and been that way sences i’ 21 birthday and i’m 23 now i know it hasnt been long but i think it can help you think more clearly or that might just be me.
i am celibate myself. more men need to get on the ball of celibecy b/c the best sex is guilt free sex, meaning theres no guilt when ur married its ok!!!! (waiting for someone who is on the same page as me)

Lenny Kravitz is loved by women everywhere, across racial/ethnic boundaries..He possesses a truly “universal” appeal..This just increases it..Shows that not only is he sexy, he’s very intelligent, and self-actualized…He ought to be commended for his DECISION to be celibate, as he more than likely deals with temptation on a CONTINUOUS basis; lots of dudes think of themselves as “ballas”, but are nowhere NEAR the level this man is. He probably has a supermodel for every hour of the day; top notch dame throwing herself at him, and he chooses to deny himself the very thing that adds to his public persona.
