quincy jones was really close to MJ so i understand why he didnt go….some people grieve differently,even when that means they dont fully let themselves grieve….we all know quincy and MJ were very close and he may have needed to be in a different place to try to mask the emotions that hes feeling….hell elizath taylor wasnt there….nobody saw diana ross there along with many other people we all knew was close to him….

Quincy Jones did a interview with Donnie Simpson on the radio the day after Michael Jackson died and was really broken up over Michael’s death. Donnie Simpson asked him if he would be going to the funeral or memorial he said no. The reason is he said he does not go to funerals any more. He’s lost to many of his close friends in the last year and he just cant bear to go to anymore. I can understand it and I don’t fault him for not going. Some people don’t take death well and especially if its someone so dear and close to you. So I say we shouldn’t judge him.

All these emotional azz folks. Y’all are killin’ me w/ these off the cuff remarks about how other people should pay their respects. Quincy and Diana were 2 of the most important people in MJ’s life, and they both had as big of an influence on him as he ever had on them. They didn’t use him nor did they need him to get paper; gimme a damn break. The memorial was about MJ no question but ur grief is ur own, and people have the right to choose how they grieve. So whatever their reasons for not attending, Mike has been gone for over a week. It’s reasonable to believe someone so close to him could be all cried out by now, and not showin’ up at a PUBLIC memorial has NO baring on how much they loved him. Hell, I’ve forgone a few funerals in my lifetime for various reasons; I wanted to remember the person the last way I saw them before death; I knew the family well enough to know I didn’t wanna witness a fake, undignified service full of selfish azz relatives screamin’ at the top of their lungs, fallin’ out on the floor, and givin’ dumb azz testimonials all competin’ to show they’re the one their loved one loved the most; or maybe I just couldn’t get a reasonable flight out of town; whatever. In those moments I simply pray. I pray that the LORD keep my loved ones close, that HE send blessings in abundance to the family, and that my loved ones look out for me from above once in a while when they get the chance. When the love is genuine, sometimes being not present in body means being more present in spirit…Don’t judge, lest ye be judged !!

Quincy Jones stated days before the memorial that he was not attending because he did not want to be surrounded by 10 million people and he wanted to mourn without the media and pics. I just feel like it was a disrespectful move on his part. MJ does not have the option to attend or not to attend any event anymore. Karma is a b***h and when she comes, she comes hard…Quincy.

Ok, people who are we to judge how someone is supposed to act in a time of saddness. If you all had done your research before posting you would have found out the Quincey Jones didnt come because he couldnt bear buring another one of his friends. Lets just take a minute and think about how many people Quincy Jones worked with, now lets think about how many funerals he as had to go through to bury those people. I can not make any comment whether positive or negative towards Qunicy Jones. I do know that there were other so called friends of Michael Jackson’s that did not attend the public memorial. Are you going to chastise them as well? It was a public memorial and some people feel as if their feelings about Michael and his death is exactly that their feelings and shouldn’t be shared with the rest of the world. Maybe he felt like being there would also take away from the memorial. The media and even people who claim to be Michael Jackson supporters and fans were more concerned about who was in attendance and not just that a man was laid to rest and would no longer be of this earth. Everyone has their own way to grieve. Some can do it publically and others can not. Regardless, of whether Quincy Jones mourns the loss of his friend in front of us or behind closed doors, his relationship with Michael Jackson is exactly that his relationship not our relationship. As I previously stated, I can not say anything positive or negative about Quincy Jones because I do not know him but hopefully, the statements that have been flying around that he has made about Michael aren’t true and if the statements were said I hope they were not meant with malice intent. Qunicy Jones relationship with Michael is his own business and the way he chooses to grieve is his own business.

I was 15 when my father passed away and we were very strong bond. to know what his kids feel like there going to be questioning why left when they were so young and might even be angry at him for it, I was. But they will be fine all of them will come to a time when they can laugh and talk about Michael.

Man Quincy getting all this for missing a funeral.. What do people think of me for missing my own grandmother’s funeral. I was in basic training at the time,learning to defend our country when she passed. My family decided she was gone and there was nothing I could do, so no since in me being there. She would of wanted me to finish with my class anyhow. Life must go on in the presence of death.

So many rumors have surfaced since the death of Michael Jackson that you can’t even keep up anymore. As far as Quincy Jones not attending the Memorial, anyone who saw “Larry King Live” shortly after Michael’s death would have witnessed Quincy Jones saying that he wouldn’t be attending anymore funerals as long as he live. As odd as this may sound to some, the man has a right to make that decision without having his character questioned. We all grieve death differently and maybe this is what Quincy Jones thinks is best for him. Judge not lest ye shall be judged people.

Quincy has seen a LOT of death lately and I understand his sentiments. He’s seen his best friend Ray Charles pass,James Brown & also his future son-in law Tupac Shakir. Q is getting up in age himself and knows it’s just a matter of time before His own death! Don’t forget how close he was to Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes. I am still in disbelief that we have lost such a talented young man. He never had the Blessings we had being able to go get a soda, a pizza etc. in peace.
I am so saddened today especially for his Mother as I know all too well what it feels like to bury your own child. I am even more saddened for his children Paris especially. I can’t imagine how hard it will be for those children to continue growing up without the only Parent they knew. For I know all too well what it feels like to grow up without a father bu I can’t imagine what it feels like to begin growing up with your father and loosing him halfway to your adult hood years to sudden and unexpected death, especially when he is the most important person in your life.
I pray for Peace & Serenity to reach Michael’s Mother & children for this journey has just begun for them. Their hardest days are still to come.

Damn Q said he was going to be in Europe whenever they would have Micheal’s funeral/memorial….I was under the impression that he was going there for business purposes. He did also stated that he didn’t want to be grieving with millions of people either(LOL), he wanted to just grieve alone or whatever. That’s messed up!! You know what, ok, Quincy didnt have to be there, thats true! But i would think that if someone is that close to another person, and that much of a friend, they should be there. It may not bring Michael back, but i think thats the least thing you could do. Pay your respect to the man by showing up. I dont think theres any excuse.

If you look at this dude like hes family, you should be there point blank! Picture not showing up to your own brothers funeral. Just the thought of it dont sound right. It may be hard to face reality, but if the people who should be hurt the most showed up(Mother & Father, sisters, brothers, kids)then he couldve shown up.
