Lakers Beat Celtics 83 To 79 For 16th NBA Title

It was arguably the ugliest game seven of an NBA Finals, but the Los Angeles Lakers overcame a poor shooting night by Kobe Bryant to win their 16th NBA title.

Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant now have a ring for each finger on their hands winning back-to-back NBA titles.   Despite shooting 6 for 24 (o-6 from 3) Bryant still lead all scorers with 23 points and 15 rebounds on the night. Ron Artest and Pau Gasol kept the Lakers in the game scoring 20 and 19 points respectively. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 18 points.

“This was the sweetest,” Bryant said of his fifth championship. He also took home series MVP honors. “Tonight got the best of me.”

The Lakers now only need one more title to match the Celtics record of 17 NBA championships. Kobe Bryant needs one more to match the man he is constantly compared to, the legendary Michael Jordan.

    I still say Go Boston!! I had to deactivate my Fakebook page (no typo) but I didn’t want to get out of character. I hope Doc and Ray Allen return. Doc is a great coach. Rondo is a great player and I think Boston can make it back to the finals next year.

    I don’t really have a favorite team, I have players that I like but it was a good game. Just wish the outcome had been different. Lord, Artest finally has a ring with his retarded butt.

    Ron artests winning speech was priceless. He actually thanked his psychiatrist. Probably the reason why he is a different player. Anyway i am still a die hard laker hater, i wear my badge proudly. Celtics still got the most championships!!

    & wtf was up w/ kobe, they should have sat his ass down.

    Lakers back to back champions,waooooh they are the best ever seen in history of NBA. kobe is already a living idole to me and i think he is to other many people out there.and phill jACKSON should be named the special ONE,he is unbeatle.

    This was the most upsetting game I have ever watched. Im not gonna front I even cried a little lol. My city is hurting right now. The Celtics were doing pretty good for most of the game. But idk what was up with Ray Allen last night.. smh. Oh well we’re gonna come back next year stronger than ever. Failure is the ultimate motivator

    Oh and Kobe is excellent, but you can’t compare him to Jordan. Kobe has a crap load of stars on his team, at every position, Jordan didn’t have that. Scottie Pippen wasn’t A class, he was C class, but Jordan made everyone around him look better. Kobe doesn’t do that.

    Reading these comments i see a lot of these odiot’s need to realize that a pro game is 4 quarters therefore it’s just stupid to say they had the lead for 3 qts….so did clevaland and orlando….the Loston Celtic’s couldn’t hold on and deserve to lose….ALL the KOBE and Laker hater’s…HOW KOBE AZZ taste like yo boy SHAQ said……
