Kobe Bryant was recently fined $100,000 by NBA commissioner David Stern for dropping an F-bomb on a referee. Much was made about the slur but Black Mamba is not alone in athletic outbursts. Blackvoices.com has compiled a list of some of the most infamous bleep-filled tirades in sports.

2. A line judge at the 2009 US Open felt Serena Williams’ wrath when the tennis champ disputed a call. Williams was fined $10,500 for her transgressions but received no suspension from the USTA. Her outburst not only caused controversy due to her harsh language, but it raised the issue of whether a double-standard exists in tennis where male players are given more leeway to argue calls. In fact, there’s a history of male players like Jimmy Connors and Andre Agassi who’ve ranted at officials and received what amounts to a slap on the wrist and fines of $1,000. We’re not saying Williams is right for barking at the official, but there’s got to be equity in punishment between the sports’ male and female stars.
