I can’t believe that hate and “shock” about these shoes. Did it ever occur to your rocket scientists’ that Kanye didn’t come up with the price???

Afterall, the dude didn’t team up with “Reebok” or “K Swiss”…we are talking about the luxury designer (arguably the best) Louis Vuitton.

If you think a regular pair of LV’s sneakers are going to go for less than $500 you’re sadly mistaken. If you don’t like the shoes, fine. If you don’t like the price, fine. But why judge what someone else does with their money? Are you really in the position to be in someone’s pockets?

I ain’t mad at Kanye do what you do boy. i see sneakers going for around $500 bills sneakers that sold in the 80′s for about $60 are now $500 because Nike says they are specal editions but you can find them on the feet of about 1 out every 3 kids. The shoes are ugly and you an choose to buy or pass buy. having expensive fashions is not an indication of someone careing for others. I mean sean john sells really expensive clothes but i don’t see people ofter him for being expenesive. If people want to spend their dollars on those shoes so be it. I just don’t understand why we as a people buy gear from Europeans who could care less if we buy there crap. We all buy into materialism and if Kanye wants to cash in that is his own perogotive.

First off the price of his shoes has nothing to do with his pride in his community. Grow up people. This is the same man that was one of the first and few black people that stood up during the the Hurricane Katrina Diabolical let left thousands of our people dead.

Kanye West Ego may need it’s own room but ever line he drops shows he delivers messages more than 0I can say of the Lil Waynes and other rappers of that type and style of the world.

Funny thing about our people is this when athletes or stars make there shoes affordable no one buys them.

Shaq has been a force in the NBA for almost 20 years and you dont see people flying to the store to rock a pair of his shoes.

When we do rock low end sneakers not so much as adults but our children say ages 5 -18yrs old they get ridiculed for having them.

I’ve never been a Jordan fan nor have I ever brought any of his sneakers. So I cant tell you what year he retired officially.

And yet people still want a pair of his Airness Shoes. Even though he is insignifacnt to the game now that he’s now competeing.
I’m no knocking his legacy.

What I’m saying is the only reason people rock Jordans is because they have become symbolic with status.

Somewhere someone unknown powers that be decided in the black community Jordans equated you were doing it Big.

You dont believe me google the special they did on not the man Micheal Jordan but his sneakers.

So until we change are thinking on what we value you’ll see this type of behavior towards shoes clothing rims etc.

Guns and Butter Baby and none of that stuff appreciates.

Mr. West made a product devoid of color lines he made it with the intent of getting paid.

I’m not knocking him for fatting his pockets or Jordan.

You got two choices make him richer and buy them. Or invest your $700.00 and maybe one day someone will write an article on you saying how you dont love your people because you are offering a product they cant afford and yet if it was afforable they wouldn’t buy it…

I think that what they were trying to do by putting up that title for this article, is to mock him when he said that famous line on national t.v. “Bush Doesn’t Care About Black People!” Does anybody remember that, during hurrican Katrina, and I guess what they are tryin to do is mock and say that you have the nerve to call out Bush for not helping out financially with the victims of that natural disaster, but then a years later you’re gonna come out with a shoe that cost $300 away from fkn $1000!! That shows that Kanye himself is not conscious or thinking responsibily towards the economic crisis that we are going through right now, so he calls bush out as not “caring about black people” well Kanye isn’t showing much different, or even caring about people in general. After reading quite a few of the responses I am feeling good that people are rejecting the idea of purchasing this shoe based on principle. This is one of those products that hits the market exclusively for ‘niggas’ (i.e. ignorant people). Like Huey expressed on the ‘Boondocks’, a ‘nigga product’. Only a person who wants to feel exceptional from everyone else buys this shoe. And that person should feel exceptional… exceptionally foolish. I bet it’s being said that the shoe is selling out in the UK to soften people up in the US to the idea of buying a $700 shoe. only a fool would buy or release a sneaker shoe costing $700 during a worldwide economic depression. Kanye like MJ is a very gifted artist which must be acknowledged whether you like him or not. However, I am starting to develop such a disdain for him I wouldn’t buy his shoe simply based on principle. When I spend any significant amount of $$$ I try to do it in a way that’s sure to benefit the black community, domestic or abroad. Kanye seems to have developed into the type of artist who really couldn’t care less about that type of thing. As a matter of fact, I’d be willing to bet $$$ that shoe was probably made in a sweat shop somewhere, by child-laborers, in some economically exploited country.
