Rumor has it that Michael Jackson’s sister La Toya is trying to sashay her way onto the ballroom floor of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

According to Us magazine, the one-time pop artist, who had modest hits during the 80s, is now in “serious discussions” to join the crop of new celebs who will compete for the crown in September.

“She’s a big fan of the show, and being from a musical family, it would be a good fit,” her rep says.

The new season will begin Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. Contestants will be revealed on the Monday, Aug. 17 edition of “Good Morning America.”

Wow. Lawrence Taylor is a great interview. I suppose I wouldn’t label him a lunatic, but I’d certainly say that he’s, um, eccentric, confident and probably not the best person in the world to upset. The Hall of Fame linebacker also happens to be an avid and accomplished golfer. He almost won the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament last year before falling apart on the final day. He returned to Lake Tahoe to participate in the star-studded event this weekend (he finished tied for 13th) and took timeout to speak with KLAC in Los Angeles about his experience participating in Dancing With The Stars (it detracted from his golf game), why he’d rather watch pornography than NFL football and how he has no intentions of spending much, if any, time around the game in the future.

On how his golf game was heading in to the event this weekend:

“You know, I started out very good. I played very well the first two days then the last day, I fell apart like the Unabomber. I blew up like the Unabomber. I tell you, last year, I came in to Tahoe about 35, 40 pounds heavier than I am now. You know, the altitude, all the walking, if I could take the cart to the green, I would. If I’ve got a 6 foot put, I’ll park the cart right beside that ball. No, but again, I’ve lost a lot of weight this year with Nutrisystem and Dancing With The Stars so I feel better, I can walk, so I can actually finish the course. To tell you the truth, I would be really disappointed if I didn’t finish in the top five this year.”

On his experience participating on Dancing With The Stars:

“Dancing With The Stars brings a lot of different people, I’ll tell you. Now, had I known what Dancing With The Stars actually consists of, I would have never done it because it’s a lot of work. You’re looking at six to eight hour days in terms of rehearsals and stuff. And that was not in the job description. And you know, really, after the first three weeks, I was looking to get off the show because my golf game was suffering. It was a lot of work. I’m happy for what it did for me as far as it got me in shape, it forced me to get in shape. I danced with a spectacular partner…and I met a lot of good people on that show. So the experience of meeting everybody and interacting – that was great.  Then you’ve got three assholes who want to criticize you. I’m like, I ain’t a professional dancer. I kill people for a living! I’m not a hitman, but you know…”

On if and how he plans to get involved or just give back to the game of football in the future:

“I don’t really mess with football anymore. That’s an era of my life that has passed. A lot of the guys will sit there and live football. Every Sunday they’re glued to the t.v. watching football. I don’t watch football. I’d rather watch two people fuck [ed. note: KLAC bleeped out LT's profane word and replaced it with 'have sex']. Now look, I don’t really watch football. I am very appreciative of all the fan love and all the people that remember the things you have done. But that’s not what turns me on in the morning.”

Guess which network has decided not to air President Obama’s prime time address tomorrow night? And the news-less CW doesn’t count [click here to read].

While ABC, NBC and CBS are giving up precious sweeps month real estate for the president’s press conference marking his first 100 days, Fox announced Monday that it will instead stick to its regular programming – an episode of “Lie to Me.”

The network, known for its conservative news slant, is the lone broadcast channel that turned down President Obama’s request for the time.

Tomorrow night’s speech will be the third prime time news conference in Obama’s 100-day presidency. It also marks the first time a broadcast network has refused his request.

The comedy, according to the Hollywood Reporter, follows two adult siblings (Jeff Davis, Rebecca Cheskoff) who move in with their eldest brother (Kevin Rahm).

Lil Kim and Jewel are among the musicians that will go from making albums to ballroom dancing on the next season of ABC’s bizarre hit show Dancing With the Stars. Jewel is no stranger to reality television, having hosted Nashville Star and guest-judged on American Idol. The Queen Bee, who has not released an album since 2005’s The Naked Truth will compete against fellow artists like the Go-Go’s lead singer Belinda Carlisle and country singer Chuck Wicks, according to ESPN, of all sources. All three will battle for the honor of being the C-list celeb who can best pick up dancing, as decided by a home audience and a panel of judges.

Jewel will actually be competing against her husband, bull rider Ty Murray, on the show, which will also feature Olympian Shawn Johnson, actress Denise Richards, Blankman star David Alan Grier, Steve-O of Jackass fame, “computer guru” Steve Wozniak and Rock Daily’s personal favorite, New York Giants Hall of Fame linebacker, Lawrence “LT” Taylor.

Past musicians that have competed include 98 Degrees’ Drew Lachey, who won Season 2, Wayne Newton, the Spice Girls’ Mel B, Toni Braxton and Master P. In the gossip portion of our post, and we don’t know much about this Wicks guy, but supposedly he’s dating Dancing With The Stars dancer Julianne Hough, who happens to be his dance partner on the upcoming season. An American Idol-like controversy? We’ll find out when the show returns to ABC on March 9th.

ABC has ordered pilot episodes of three new series, including one from U.S. film producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s TV production group, industry sources say.

The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that Jerry Bruckheimer TV will be working with Warner Bros. TV on a pilot for an untitled series that will be directed by “CSI” director Danny Cannon.

The new series, whose pilot will be written by Mark Friedman, will follow a group of amateur detectives taking part in cases involving unidentified victims.

Producer Joseph Nichol, better known as McG in the entertainment industry, will be involved with one of ABC’s other new pilots.

McG will serve as executive producer for the drama “Limelight,” which takes place at a New York performing arts college. The series is based on the life of hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams.

The Reporter said producer Mark Gordon will executive produce ABC’s third new pilot, “Empire State,” which follows the culture clash of a working class family with a wealthy family.

Nominations for the 81st Academy Awards will be announced on Thursday, January 22nd, by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and Oscar-winning actor and Academy member Forest Whitaker.

Ganis and Whitaker will unveil the nominations in 10 of the 24 award categories at a 5:30 a.m. news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, where hundreds of media representatives from around the world will be gathered. Nominations information for all categories will be distributed simultaneously to news media in attendance and via the Internet on the official Academy Awards Web site, Oscar.com.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2008 will be presented on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live by the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

When she needs a self-esteem boost, Raven-Symoné can count on her biggest fan: her mom.

“She’ll call me and say, ‘You’re very pretty,’” says the former That’s So Raven star. “I’m like, ‘Thanks, Mommy!’ and that’s my confidence for the day.”

On Thursday, the singer-actress will be helping to boost some of her young fans’ confidence when she hosts a hundred 11- and 12-year-old girls at a Dove-sponsored self-esteem workshop in Cape May, N.J.

“It’s going to be so much fun,” the 23-year-old, who’s been working on her fifth album, tells People. “We want to build their self-esteem and give them tools to face the world the next day without us there.”

The singer-actress has experienced her share of criticism – especially from online “haters” – for her body, which she’s called “thick and fabulous.”

Handling the Critics

“People come up to me and have certain words for me, but you know what I do? I say, ‘I’m healthy, I exercise, I believe in myself, and I think I’m beautiful,’ ” she says. “You just have to learn how to transform the pressures into something that doesn’t soak into you on a personal level. You see it, you breathe past it, you don’t let it sink into your self-esteem.”

And to enforce her positive mantra, if something’s got her down, Raven has a simple technique. “At the end of the day I’ll call my best friend and yell and scream and get it out,” she says. “And the next morning, it’s out of my system.”

It was another banner day at “The View” on Monday, as the co-hosts welcomed – or rather tolerated – conservative author Ann Coulter for a discussion about her book “Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ And Their Assault On America.” [View clip below.]

In the segment before Coulter was introduced, co-host Barbara Walters read a passage that accused famous bi-racial personalities such as President-elect Barack Obama, Alicia Keys and Halle Berry of “race-bait[ing] their way to success.”

Coulter writes in the book:

“Even grifters know that to be embraced by the cool people in America, you must claim to be a victim, preferably abused by religious fundamentalists.

In a related phenomenon, various half-black celebrities insist on representing themselves simply as “black” — the better to race-bait their way to success.

Actress Halle Berry, singer Alicia Keys and matinee idol Barack Obama were all abandoned by their black fathers and raised by their white mothers. But instead of seeing themselves as half-white, they prefer to see the glass half-black. They all choose to identify with the fathers who ditched them, while insulting the women who struggled to raise them.

In 2002, Berry engaged in wild race-baiting to win her Oscar and then ate up most of the awards show with an interminable acceptance speech claiming that her award was “so much bigger than me.” People who say “it’s bigger than me” always mean it’s just about them. During the 2008 campaign, Barack Obama repeatedly said the exact same thing: “This election is bigger than me.” Would they be able to pawn off their personal victories as transformative events for the nation if they were not claiming to be doing it for the blacks?”

Word has it that Blair Underwood is refusing to play a bisexual character in the ABC produced Dirty Sexy Money. Underwood was said to have been “furious” with the very notion that he play such a character. His agent is concerned that the role could taint Underwood’s image as an actor and prevent him from being accepted by black movie goers (yeah, right).

ABC has unofficially decided to cancel Dirty Sexy Money while the station looks for Underwood’s replacement.

ABC and the Disney Channel have landed exclusive rights to televise two of Barack Obama’s inaugural events, including the new president’s first appearance at one of an array of inaugural balls on the night of Jan. 20.

ABC will broadcast “The Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration,” a first-ever event expected to include Obama and his wife Michelle’s first dance of the night, along with performances from musicians and other personalities. Obama also is expected to deliver his first speech of the evening at the event, to be held at the Washington Convention Center. The ball was announced earlier this week by the Presidential Inaugural Committee, with plans to feature Webcasting and text messaging to link with neighborhood celebrations around the country.

The night before, on Jan. 19, the Disney Channel will show “Kids’ Inaugural: We Are the Future,” an inaugural concert where Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, the wife of Vice President-elect Joseph Biden, along with their families, are scheduled. The event will be simulcast on Radio Disney and streamed afterward on Disney.com.

Earlier this week, Obama’s Presidential Inaugural Committee announced a deal with HBO for the exclusive rights to televise a star-studded inaugural kickoff event on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 18. HBO will make the event available for free for all cable subscribers.

The exclusive arrangements mirror deals made by Bill Clinton’s team for his inauguration in 1993. That year, HBO showed an event on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and the Disney Channel televised two live events at the Kennedy Center for children and youth, with Fred Rogers and Barney the Dinosaur among the acts.

No terms were disclosed for the exclusive arrangements.

In years past that meant we just got a handful of new midseason shows that replaced cancelled series, but now it’s more like a whole new season, filled with returning favorites and new series. HBO’s risky gamble paid off. It turns out that we viewers like to feel like voyeurs sometimes, and peek in on the lives of “others” – possibly a subset of American life that we don’t get to openly experience. The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Big Love is returning for its third season.

As if juggling three wives weren’t tricky enough, we’ll find modern polygamist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) tackling problems outside his three-house suburban home. Bill attempts to create some much-needed financial security by expanding from Henrickson Home Plus into Weber Gaming. And as he continues to try and extricate himself from family and business ties to the Juniper Creek compound, he discovers that the prophet Roman Grant (Harry Dean Stanton) is difficult to elude. The power struggles between first wife Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), second wife Nicki (Chlo? Sevigny) and third wife Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) continue – especially regarding the possibility of adding a fourth.

Legendary rapper Ice Cube and basketball phenom Lebron James have reportedly joined forces for the development of a one-hour drama for ABC.

According to The Plain Dealer, the forthcoming show will be based around the Cleveland Cavs star’s experiences as a black high school student playing in a small town.

It is slated to debut next fall.

For Ice Cube, it’s his third television project. In 2006, he produced a FX reality show called Black.White, and has signed on as an executive producer for an upcoming cop comedy series for NBC.

BC is adapting comic book “Fables,” created by Bill Willingham and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint, says The Hollywood Reporter.

“Six Degrees” creators/executive producers Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner are writing the script for the hourlong drama set at Warner Bros. TV.

David Semel has come on board to direct “Fables,” which revolves around characters from fairy tales and folklore living in exile in modern-day New York.

Zicherman and Metzner wouldn’t elaborate which fairy tale characters will be featured in the TV series, but noted that Big Bad Wolf and Snow White, who are central to the comics, will have a similar role on the show.

“We set up a structure to allow any fairy tale character to show up in any one episode,” Metzner said.

The fairy tale characters will keep some of their trademark characteristics. For instance, Prince Charming will be handsome, while Big Bad Wolf will have to shave a four-day shadow from growing back every day.

But overall, “they are just like real people in the real world who live and breathe and look just like you and me,” Metzner said.

MediaTakeOut.com just got word that producers of the ABC hit series Dancing With The Stars have approached Stevie Wonder to be on next season’s show.

And according to a snitch close to Stevie – he’s actually considering it. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, “We’re taking the offer seriously, but no one has agreed to do [the show] yet.”

Seattle Grace is about to lose another doctor.

Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, who has played lovable intern George O’Malley since the show’s debut, has asked producers to write him off the hit medical drama.

While details of his exit have yet to be ironed out, a source close to the situation says that it seems likely Knight’s request will be granted and he will be released from his contract.

Recent reports that Knight has not been attending table-reads for upcoming episodes or that he had walked off the set and cleaned out his dressing room are inaccurate, a rep for Knight tells PEOPLE: “He has been there every day. He was at a table read yesterday. He hasn’t said goodbye to anyone.” The rep had no further comment on his possible exit.

Of speculation that Knight was still upset about former cast member Isaiah Washington’s alleged use of a homophobic slur about him — which prompted Knight to reveal he was gay, and which some felt series creator Shonda Rhimes took too long to rectify with Washington’s dismissal — a source familiar with Grey’s says it is false.

“The Isaiah stuff has no relevance at all,” says the source. “T.R. doesn’t even know why people would mention it. It was so long ago.”

So why does Knight, who remains a fan favorite, want to leave?

“Have you seen the show lately?” says the source. Knight has received little screen time this season, with the show focusing on controversial storylines like the romance between Katherine Heigl’s Izzie and her long-dead lover, Denny.

“It’s time to move on,” says the source. “It just feels like this is the right time to go.”

News of Knight’s possible exit, first reported by EW.com, comes after Grey’s made headlines last month when actress Brooke Smith, who played Dr. Erica Hahn, was abruptly let go from the show.

ABC had no comment.

Flash Forward is based on Robert J. Sawyer’s sci-fi novel and chronicles the chaos that ensues after everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and has a mysterious vision of the future that changes lives forever.

Vance will play Stan Wedeck, the Los Angeles bureau chief of the FBI.

Davenport will play Lloyd Simcoe, who is trapped in Northern California when the event occurs and struggles to reach his son in a Southland hospital.

Flash Forward has a pilot order with a series penalty behind it, and will be directed by David S. Goyer.

Brooke Burke waltzed away with the title in last night’s final dance.

In the very first week of the season, Len Goodman, one of the show’s three judges, all but called the competition for Burke — TV hostess/actress/model (and mom whose top Google-summoned images flaunt seriously sheer panties).

Actually, if there was one moment when Burke claimed the latest glitter ball of B-star glory, it was on Monday night’s competition show, when she and pretty-boy partner Derek Hough did it up to “You’re the One That I Want,” from “Grease.” The show’s fans say that as the freestyle competition goes, so goes the trophy. When Burke stripped off her Sandra Dee duds for a pink-sequin “Sandy” number that let her perfectly turned dancer’s hips and legs go wild — well, poor Lance Bass, for one, was toast.

Not that there wasn’t appropriate end-of-season swooning for Super Bowl champion Warren Sapp, who (sorry, Redskins star Jason Taylor, a runner-up in Season 6) staked claim to being Goodman’s new favorite “entertainer.” Sapp also won monstrous applause from the studio audience for how he jiggled his 300 pounds around the floor with partner Kym Johnson, whom he threw all over the place with lifts in the finals.

Boy-bander Bass (who revived his sailor-dud/tight-white-pants jitterbug with partner Lacey Schwimmer) loomed as a dark horse, but he had no chance of playing enough catch-up to beat Burke, who won 80 percent of the week-to-week competitions.

Leachman, the Oscar-winning actress, was eliminated a few weeks back, though she did appear to win the prize for most finale-night screen time — and most mention of her cleavage. (Sapp ran a close second for those super-size man-boobs.)

The most awkward moment of the night came when comedian Jeffrey Ross (who was kicked off at the start of the competition) roasted the three finalists and couldn’t do better than making gay jokes about Bass and fat jokes about Sapp.

“DWTS,” which was the top-rated show last week with nearly 20 million viewers, has become a drama-queen show, with all its injuries and ambulance runs, punctuated by a big Marie Osmond faint-away in Season 6. The just-completed Season 7, though, was tops for the sheer number of medically mandated disasters. (The topper: After professional partner Julianne Hough had to be taken to the emergency room after a show because endometriosis put her in need of an appendectomy, Schwimmer felt compelled to announce that she, too, has endometriosis. But — whew! — Schwimmer was not so sick as to need medical intervention, let alone tone down her self-promoting partnership with Bass.)

There was all kinds of faux drama last night, as the couples stood around waiting while Cyrus sang. Meanwhile, Burke drew almost weepy tears from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who had sung Burke’s praises often.

Leachman and Sapp provided fun, but ultimately, it was Burke’s grace — and crown — that shone brightest.

“I looked at a brilliant actress, whom I have adored since I first saw her in Silence of the Lambs,” Washington says in the November 17th issue of TV Guide. “For her to be treated this way, I find very interesting.”

Grey’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, released a statement last week insisting that “Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian… We did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke’s character would sustain in the long run.”

In any way you slice it, Washington believes the move was harsh. “The fact is that, just before the holidays, you have a mother, a wonderful actress removed from a steady income without the proper reasoning behind it,” he says.

I’m not much of a baseball fan, but for those that haven’t been following this topsy-turvy MLB season, you  be scratching your head at this interesting World Series lineup. The Philadelphia Phillies look to do it again versus the scrappy Tampa Bay Rays as Game 1 of the World Series is underway at 8:00pm on FOX.

This America’s Next Top Model-esque show with an attitude opens up with cat fights, name calling and plenty of things that’d make a church man blush. Tonight, the 11 hopefuls looking to win the affection of their judges are judged themselves as they must revamp their wardrobe and get their intern on for a worldwide audience at 9:00pm.

Dirty, Sexy, Money, ABC, 10:00pm -

ABC’s newest and hottest show since Desperate Housewives is making a splash with tonight’s episode. Nick is not pleased to see his estranged mother’s name on the prosecutor’s list as he prepared to defend Letitia. Meanwhile, Patrick wants to tell the truth about Ellen’s death, but Tripp objects. Be sure to catch all the soap opera drama tonight on ABC.

Sons of Anarchy, FX, 11:00pm -

The boys at SAMCRO must scramble up some dinero to come up with their Charleton Heston contribution, but unbeknownst to them – the Mayans and Nords make steps to make their alliance stronger. With all that and Jax having a hard time with Tara, the sparks are sure to fly and you better be there to watch Sons of Anarchy – tonight – at 11:00pm.

Ironically, Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star with the famous assets, doesn’t know how to work with what she’s got. Kardashian is a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” this season and she is looking a little nervous out there. The star admits that she doesn’t know how to move it and that everyone expects her to be “sexy” but she’s really not.

Last night (Sept. 23) she performed the Mambo to Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back (I Like Big Butts)” with her partner Mark Ballas. The judges got on her for not knowing how to shake it and her total score was an 18 out of 30. Poor thing, keep practicing so you can make your fellow bootyliscious girls proud!

Whoever says there are no good black family dramas on TV isn’t watching “Lincoln Heights.” Season three of ABC Family’s critically acclaimed series about a Los Angeles Police Department Officer and his family kicks off on tonight (September 16) at 8pm.

In the first two seasons the critically acclaimed ABC Family original series, which was nominated for multiple NAACP Image and NAMIC Awards, began following the consequences Los Angeles Police Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) faces when he decideds to move his wife and their three children back to the dangerous neighborhood where he grew up.

When the end is near, you may not know what to do, but on National Geographic Channel’s I Came Back From The Dead, survivors tell their stories on how they defied medical convention.
