Lupe Fiasco Says Collab Album With Pharrell Williams Is On The Way

Lupe Fiasco took to his website to make two announcements to his fans: “FOOD AND LIQUOR 2 COMING SOON….LUPE AND PHARRELL ALBUM COMING SOON…”

That’s right, 2012 will likely see the release of his his fourth solo album, a sequel to his debut effort. And more surpisingly, there is also a collaborative set with Neptunes producer/rapper/singer Pharrell Williams.

Some may recall that the two, along with Kanye West, planned on releasing an album as a group called Child Rebel Soldiers years ago. It never panned out. But maybe they’ll have an easier time hooking up. Two busy men with hectic schedules is more convenient than three.

Just before the stroke of midnight on Thursday night, Kanye West tweeted a picture of what is surely art (if not the cover) to be included in his anticipated collaborative album with Jay-Z, “Watch The Throne.”

Yeezy made the surprising (and ambitious) announcement at his New Year’s Eve bash that the album would be released in one week. Well here we are almost a full week from that announcement and Kanye is making sure his word is kept!

The tweet explicitly suggests 1-11-11 as the drop date – which is a little more than a week, but we won’t hold that against ‘Ye and Hov.

The discussion on Twitter now surrounds what the letters H.A.M stand for. Someone’s early guess: Hot Ass Mess.

That can’t be right.

Drake blushed like a little girl when responding to the rumors about he and Wayne collaborating to bring us an album.” He also clarifies if it is true or not and it’s official, we will see a Drake/ Wayne album in the future. He also mentioned that he was extremely excited (we could tell) more so than almost everything in his life. After all the hype behind Drakes Mixtape, can you imagine the hype behind a Wayne/ Drizzy album???

Waka Flocka Flames stopped by Houston’s 97.9 for an interview on Wednesday.

Nnete from Houston’s 97.9 The Box Madd Hatta Morning Show interviewed Waka Flocka Flame Wednesday and the rapper, who has 4 mixtapes releasing soon, explains why he’s not worrying about dropping an official album:

Man I ain’t finna make myself hot and then have them eating off of me and then I’m just left with nothing?

Nnete goes on to ask Waka if he thinks record deals are overated and here was his response:

Psshh Don’t You? Man, (shakes his head) folks aint cutting no checks man, …. At the end of the day, it’s on me…like one single and people saying ‘oh man, you should drop an album, you hot!’…Who? I aint finna go double-wood for ‘Oh Let’s Do It’, real talk!

Waka then mentions that he plans to make himself hot first and then use the labels to get him in movies, tv and on the radio! He later says he is just trying to learn the business right now and even makes a comparison between artists and prostitutes, saying:

You are a prostitute. You have to sell yourself.
