Amy’s parents Mitch and Janis have launched the Amy Winehouse Foundation today to raise money for projects that are trying to make a difference. Her last recording “Body and Soul” is a duet with Tony Bennett, and the proceeds will go to Amy Winehouse Foundation. The song was released today, and you can take a look at the video below.

The music world is currently mourning the passing of yet another legend, as Nick Ashford succumbed to throat cancer. Over the past two years we have lost the likes of Amy Winehouse (twitterpage), Gil Scott-Heron, Teena Marie (@msteenamarie), and of course, Michael Jackson, to name just a few.

Sometimes it really does seem as though you never fully appreciate what you have until it’s gone. So now, rather than waiting to shed tears after another musical great makes their final transition from this world to the next, this blog is to celebrate the gifts of unmatched artistic talent we are able to enjoy now, while the artist is still around to share in the personal joys their professional career brings to the lives of millions.

In a great example of this practice, this past Monday, NoYouAintRadio.com posted backstage footage from The OVO Fest in Toronto… where one of Hip-Hop’s biggest superstar’s of the moment, Drake, brought out Motown music legend Stevie Wonder to perform with him during one of his shows. As one of the industry’s undisputed legends, this act of deference towards Stevie and the introduction of his legacy to an entire new generation of fans is what showing love to music’s living legends is all about.

In fact, did you know that today marks a moment of time that Stevie made history? That’s right, on this day in musical history, August 24th, 1963, Stevie Wonder became the first artist to score a U.S. #1 album and single in the same week. Wonder was at #1 on the album chart with “Little Stevie Wonder: The 12 Year Old Genius” and had the #1 single “Fingertips – Part 2.”

Amy Winehouse’s toxicology report has revealed that there were no illegal substances in her body at her time of death. “Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death” read the statement released by her family. Amy was found dead in her London home three weeks ago after last being seen on stage seemingly high.

Last night, Keri Hilson was out partying with a Amy Winehouse Look a like. She shared a twitpic of the two with her followers, “Gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance).” Keri received tons of angry tweets from Amy Winehouse fans who felt the tweet was insensitive. Keri later apologized for the tweet.

Come on, I mean no harm. All due respect. But really the resemblance freaked me out. This was simply the best tribute ever. #RIPAMYWINEHOUSE

Amy Winehouse was buried this morning in London. She was found dead in her apartment Sunday July 24. Many suspected her cause of death were due to drugs but nothing was found in her home. The results of Amy’s autopsy was found inconclusive. Officials are currently waiting for her toxicology results.

I was looking for my young womanhood.” Whitney says Bobby even spit in her face while under the influence while Bobbi Kristina watched!

A run-in with groupie extraordinaire Kat Stacks exposed Soulja Boy’s dangerous Coke Habit. Stacks secretly video-taped Soulja Boy Tell’ Em’s hotel room, where lines of Coccaine were on the dresser. Soulja Boy even admits to being warned by his father at an early age about drugs “My Dad was on me heavy about drugs. He found a little sack in my bedroom, but it wasn’t from drugs. They came from some earrings that I bought. He and my stepmother kept asking if I do drugs. So I finally just said, ‘Look, I rap. I’ma be a famous rapper. My name’s Soulja Boy.’ And started showing them everything I was doing on the Internet– my MySpace page and everything.” said Soulja Boy to SOHH.com

5.Slick Em’

Drug: Cocaine

Slick’ Em was kicked out of group Pretty Ricky after video surfaced on WSHH of him snorting lines of coke in a Hotel room. Since, Slick Em’ has been rumored to be dating Keyshia Cole’s mother Frankie who also is a substance abuser.

6.Michael Jackson

Drug: Propofol

The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, died on June 25, 2009 after a he was failed to be resuscitated due to going into cardiac arrest after a Propofol intoxication. The autopsy report suggested that Michael was killed by then doctor Conrad Murray who gave MJ the lethal doses of Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine. Michael’s death opened the flood gates to many problems he had been suffering from including: chronically inflamed lungs and that his arms and legs were covered with puncture wounds. Michael was also confirmed to be emaciated and weighed only 136 pounds at his time of death.

DMX was recently released from jail after serving a little over a year for violating his probation after using drugs. At one point DMX was once moved to the Mental Health unit of the Arizona State prison. Since his emergence in the late 90′s DMX has gone to jail seven times for drug related charges.

In an interview with The UK’s Sun Lindsey said this about her trouble with cocaine “I was only aware of cocaine because of my dad. I was terrified of it. But I tried it because I was stubborn, stupid, and wanted to see what it was like. It’s not something I ever want to do again. It made me feel like s***. It became uninteresting to me. I’m hyper anyway and I have that kind of personality so I don’t need something like that.”

London Police say Amy Winehouse, the troubled songstress who struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, has been found dead in her London apartment. Officials confirm that a 27 year old female was pronounced dead at the home in Camden Square in northern London.

A cause of death has not been determined.

Amy Winehouse released her first album, Frank, in 2003 on Island Records. Songs like “F*ck Me Pumps” and “My Bed” (which shares the same sample as Nas’ “Made You Look”) earned her a legion of fans and critical acclaim. Her follow up album, Back To Black, featured more production from Nas collaborator Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, spawning the hit “Rehab.”

The Grammy Award winning song was autobiographical in nature, since Winehouse had on-going issues with drugs and alcohol.

Several days ago Winehouse performed with her god daughter Dionne Bromfield at the iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse in Camden. This may be her last recorded performance. [source]

I can not possibly fathom what Amy Winehouse and Nas could be doing together.

When I first saw these photos it didn’t occur to me that this was Nas, I totally overlooked them. But you better believe it surely is him!

Maybe he was helping her to her car, or maybe he was giving her a ride home because she was too drugged up to drive, what ever it was– its odd!

By the way– Nas is looking scrumptious!

In case you forgot, Amy’s song “Me & Mr Jones” from her Back To Black album is basically a stern warning to her boyfriend that he made her miss a Slick Rick concert, but she’ll be damned if he makes her miss a Nas concert.

Amy Winehouse is in trouble again after overdoing the Christmas spirit and causing mayhem at a pantomime in Milton Keynes. The Rehab singer went to the production of Cinderella, starring Anthea Turner and Bobby Davro, but got a bit carried away with the audience participation aspect of the show and ended up being thrown out after a fight.

Winehouse, who according to the Sun newspaper spent large parts of the show standing up, continually disrupted the performance by shrieking “He’s fucking behind you”. Many children in the audience of 1,400 were apparently reduced to tears as she shouted: “F*ck Cinders, Prince Charming. Marry me” and laid into the Ugly Sisters, yelling that they were “b*tches”.

And after heckling the cast, the 26-year-old ended up fighting with the theatre manager Richard Pound. When he tried to move her out of the main auditorium to a box after the interval she allegedly attacked him – kicking him in the groin and pulling his hair. Winehouse was eventually bundled out of the building, but not before the police had been called

Thames Valley Police confirmed they were called to the theatre and are investigating an assault claim.

Winehouse had apparently gone along as the guest of former pop star Anthony Kavanagh, who was standing in as Prince Charming in place of boyband singer Ben Adams.

Before the punch-up Winehouse was introduced to cast members, but that didn’t go entirely smoothly either. The Sun reports that she had a cut on her wrist and bled on Fairy Godmother Anthea Turner. One source at the theatre said she was acting “like a demonic child”.

We’ll refrain from making a “Rehab” joke… this time.

10. Missy Elliot Block Party
Aside from two songs on the soundtrack to the film Step Up 2 The Streets, Missy has been pretty quiet since the release of her last album, 2005′s The Cookbook. With production duties rumored to be handled by long-time collaborator Timbaland, as well as The Neptunes and Danja, the music world is eagerly anticipating the return of one of it’s most creative and fun figures.

9. N*E*R*D Instant Gratification
Pharrell, Chad, Shay, and new member Rhea will return for the fourth N*E*R*D album in 2010. Will the addition of a new female member set the group on a path similar to that of The Black Eyed Peas?

Representatives from her label in the UK have confirmed that the “Rehab” singer will release a new album in 2010. She’s been on the island of St. Lucia recording with Salaam Remi who previously worked with Winehouse on her Frank and Back To Black albums.

Everybody’s favorite Canadian former teen soap star will finally release his debut album, Thank Me Later, in 2010 after what seems like an eternity of hype and mixtapes. Can Drake deliver on the promise of his past work?

Originally scheduled for release in 2009, Usher’s latest album is set for a March 2010 release. Our fingers are crossed that Usher’s new record continues in the vein of his Confessions album and steers clear of anything resembling his last album, Here I Stand.

Nearly 10 years after her last album, Sade is gearing up for the release of her sixth studio album in 26 years, Soldier Of Love. The title track leaked on to the internet in early December and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Divorce Drama For Amy Winehouse?!

Winehouse’s hubby says that he wants out of their mariage – for her sake.

“I have to let her go to save her life,” Blake Fielder-Civil – who is currently in rehab after being released from jail in November – told a British newspaper Sunday. “I am not abandoning her. I am doing this out of love.”

During the interview with the News of the World, Fielder-Civil also admits that he “introduced” the 25-year-old Winehouse to crack and heroin. (Audio files from portions of the chat are available on the paper’s Web site.)

The former video production assistant – who wed Winehouse in 2007 – denies being after the singer’s money and says he will not “fight her for anything.”

Winehouse’s U.K. spokesman, Chris Goodman, says he is unaware of anything formal underway to end the marriage.

Winehouse has not visited her husband at the rehab center where he was sent as a condition of his early release. He spent almost a year behind bars after pleading guilty to charges of assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Meanwhile, Goodman tells PEOPLE that the singer remains hospitalized at a London clinic and is “doing fine.” The rep says she is being seen as part of her ongoing medical care.

Amy Winehouse’s second album, Back to Black, is one of the finest soul albums, British or otherwise, to come out for years. Frank, her first album, was a sparse and stripped-down affair; Back to Black, meanwhile, is neither of these things. This time around, she’s taken her inspiration from some of the classic 1960′s girl groups like the Supremes and the Shangri-Las, a sound particularly suited to her textured vocal delivery, while adding a contemporary songwriting sensibility. With the help of producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, “Rehab” becomes a gospel-tinged stomp, while the title track (and album highlight) is a heartbreaking musical tribute to Phil Spector, with it’s echoey bass drum, rhythmic piano, chimes, saxophone and close harmonies. Best of all, though, is the fact that Back to Black bucks the current trend in R&B by being unabashedly grown-up in both style and content. Winehouse’s lyrics deal with relationships from a grown-up perspective, and are honest, direct and, often, complicated: on “You Know I’m No Good”, she’s unapologetic about her unfaithfulness. But she can also be witty, as on “Me & Mrs Jones” when she berates a boyfriend with “You made me miss the Slick Rick gig”. Back to Black is a refreshingly mature soul album, the best of its kind for years.
