Loon began his career as part of the rap group Harlem World and began to make a name for himself as a solo artist on Puff Daddy and Usher’s “I Need a Girl” parts 1 and 2.  He released three solo albums for three different labels, Loon, No Friends and Wizard of Harlem.

According to the New York Post, G-Dep walked in and confessed to the murder after 17-years. He told police officers he rolled up on Henkel on Park Ave and 114th street and announced a robbery.

Why: Before Craig Mack was completely obscure he had been reduced to a punchline. After the release of his gold debut album ‘Project: Funk Da World’ the only time you’d hear Craig Mack’s name was when rappers were comparing something’s ugliness to his face. Harsh. The beginning of the end for Mack’s rap career came with the “Flava In Your Ear” remix where he was out-shined by every one featured on the song (except for Rampage Da Last Boyscout.)

Prior to the remix’s release, Mack had a hit single with the original and was destined for stardom. After the remix to ‘Flava In Your Ear’ dropped, everyone forgot about Mack thanks to a fellow named Biggie Smalls and a dancing Puff Daddy Diddy. Where’s Craig Mack these days? We don’t know, and sadly we doubt you care.

This photo of former Bad Boy Records artist, Craig Mack, shows him holding an “Illuminati” sweatshirt with the year 2010 on it.

The picture, taken by famed hip-hop lensman Ernie Paniccioli, appeared on TheRapUp.net recently, and Paniccioli left a comment on the blog explaining the story behind the sweatshirt, and when the photo was taken:

“The Shirt was created by my Haitian best friend who is now sadly MIA. He knew 2010 was the date when all types of evil would be manifested both man made and by the forces of nature as in Earthquakes (China, Haiti, Chile) volcanoes (Iceland), flooding (Memphis) and of course BP oil and two never ending wars in the Middle East. What happens to artists who sign with Bad Boy Records has many different names, but the story is always the same: Diddy discovers (or manufactures) some promising new musical act. They record a breakout hit, and of course the producer is all up in the video. The poor saps get one, maybe two hits more, and then vanish. All America is left with is Diddy. A few notable names got away relatively safely: The LOX, Mase, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige. But in honor of Black Music Month, here’s a look at those artists who got sucked into The Black Hole known as Bad Boy Records and were pretty much never seen or heard from again.

When Sean “Diddy” Combs learned he and his posse would have to be searched for weapons upon entering a New York club Monday night, the mogul reportedly decided to take his friends and go elsewhere, according to the New York Post.

As the story goes, Diddy was tapped to co-host a birthday party for DJ Clue at club M2 on West 28th Street Monday night with Kobe Bryant after the historic Knicks/Lakers game in which Bryant scored 61 points.

But the artist had no idea that the New York Police Department had an undercover gun detail searching guests as they came into the club. “Everyone wanted to make sure that the dozens of NBA stars in attendance, including Lamar Odom, Vince Carter and Pau Gasol, would be safe,” an insider told the newspaper.

When Diddy arrived at 1:45 a.m. with a six-man entourage, a witness said he “flipped out” when cops asked to search him and his friends. “He went nuts, saying, ‘Why are you disrespecting me like this? Why are you doing this to me?’ During the commotion, one of his guys slipped away, unsearched, back to the car.”

Diddy “stormed off and started to text DJ Clue asking, ‘What the [bleep] is going on?’ and asked if he could go in the back entrance,” the Post reported. When told that the cops would have to search him and his friends there as well, Diddy decided not to attend the party.

Bryant, on the other hand, endured the pat down and stayed until 4 a.m. “He was in the VIP area, where there were strict orders not to let any women in near him,” the Post reported. On his way out, Bryant (who drank water), after ordering two bottles of champagne for his pals, left the waitresses a $2,000 tip.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is being sued by an artist who claims his design was used without permission by the mogul for his “Unforgivable” cologne bottle.

According to TMZ.com, Tom Patti filed a lawsuit in Federal court last week against Diddy and his company, alleging he ripped off the glass cradle of “Unforgivable” from his design called “Modulated Solar Airframe”

Patti is reportedly seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit. Diddy’s camp declined to comment.

Danity Kane has officially been offed, according to Dawn Richards and Bossip:

“When “Making the Band” returns on February 12, fans already know two former members will be missing: Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods, who were dismissed from the group by Diddy last season. But they’ll probably be surprised that Shannon Bex isn’t there either, which apparently means the end of the band. “As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist],” Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). “It’s devastating……for me.” “You’ll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn’t even make,” she continued. “We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That’s fine if that’s the choice.”

Looks like Diddy does it again. Aubrey and D.Woods got a head start on the other ladies.

50 Cent wants to launch a diet supplement. The rapper – real name Curtis Jackson – is considering creating his own range of vitamin-enriched pills but refused to be drawn on the details.

He is quoted by the New York Daily News newspaper as saying: “Right now, I’m interested in dietary supplements. I’ll be coming up with something very soon.”

“I can’t tell you what it would be called. I’d be blowing the big launch party!”

The “Candyshop” hitmaker also claimed he is drawing inspiration from music mogul Diddy when it comes to fashion.

He joked: “When my career blew up, I developed the Diddy syndrome. That’s where this velvet blazer came from.”

“As soon as you develop the Diddy syndrome, you put a little more grease in your hair, and soon enough, you’re selling cologne.”

While 50 may have been joking with his jibes to Diddy, Kanye West recently revealed 50′s attacks on him left him feeling as if he had been “spit on.”

The “Stronger” hitmaker says he is distraught by the rapper’s continued derogatory comments towards him because he has always been such a big fan of his work.

He said: “Just as a real human being, I can’t say that it doesn’t affect me. I was such a fan of 50.”

“It’s almost like if a little kid walks up to you at the airport and is like, ‘Man, I love you so much,’ and then you spit on him, it’s like ‘I don’t know if I love you as much as I used you,’ as you wipe the spit off your face. But you still play their music.”

Former Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day has reportedly scooped a whopping $500,000 to pose naked for Playboy magazine.

The singer bared all with her reality TV bandmates for an anti-fur ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in October.

And O’Day will once again show off her curves for the cover of the March issue of the men’s magazine, after Playboy boss Hugh Hefner made her an offer she couldn’t refuse.

A source tells the New York Daily News, “Aubrey’s making about $500,000 to drop trou. For that kind of money, she was like ‘Why not?’“

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has made a bold offer to remake the traditional Times Square New Year’s ball – and is willing to donate $1 million to charity of the proposal is approved.

According to reports, Diddy and Ciroc Vodka want to redesign the current ball, which drops down the flagpole on top of One Times Square every New Year’s at midnight, to the brand’s blue circle.

“As the official vodka of New Year’s Eve, it’s only fitting that we take over New York, the most iconic New Year’s city in the world,” said Diddy in a statement. “I’m going to give every adult in America a taste of what it’s like to enjoy a sophisticated celebration with Diddy, and what better time than while ringing in the New Year.”

If the plan is approved, the $1 million will go to needy charities in New York city. It is, as of yet unknown whether the city has given the go-ahead for the redesign.

Regardless of the decision, Diddy will be hosting a New Year’s party in Miami, FL next week at the Fontainebleau nightclub with Maroon 5′s Adam Levine and Chace Crawford.
