In an interview with People magazine, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, says her second grandchild is “doing great” and is “beautiful.” On her role as a grandma, Tina says it feels “amazing” and is “the second best job I’ve ever had.” For those of you wondering who Blue Ivy Carter looks like most – mama Bey or papa Jay-Z – Tina noted, “She’s only a month old. So we have to give her a minute.”

The rumors of Beyonce taking her judging talents to The X Factor may be false, but she is searching for new talent. Blue Ivy’s mother is looking for a female vocalist with the same, if not more, ambition and hustle to be featured on an upcoming Beyonce release.

Aspiring singers can film their own version of “End Of Time,” where it will be judged by music industry insiders. Those insiders include King B and her choreographer Frank Gatson. The judging criteria includes creativity, musicality, and originality. Besides being featured on a Beyonce project, the winner will also win $4,000.

Despite Lil Wayne’s claims, Jay-Z is widely considered the best rapper living. His talent has afforded the former Marcy Projects resident trips to St. Tropez and luxury apartments in New York City. As nice as the money is for Jigga, he gives charitable donations to different organizations. Or does he?

According to reports, hip-hop’s biggest figure only gave his own charity, The Shawn Carter Foundation, $6,431 in 2010. Jay-Z walked home with $67 million that year. In the same year, Beyonce made $87 million, after taxes, and contributed nary a copper penny to her husband’s scholarship foundation.

Carter did just perform two sold out shows at Carnegie Hall where the proceeds were split between The Shawn Carter Foundation and the United Way of New York. Tickets ranged in price from $150 – $15,000. We know the total amount of ticket sales raised a nice sum of money for the charities, but exactly how much is actually going to the charities?

The rumor seemed ridiculous when it first surfaced, but Simon Cowell has now officially confirmed that Beyoncé was never offered a contract valued at $100 million to join him as a judge on FOX’s The X Factor. Speaking with Extra, Cowell dismissed the speculation, explaining, “No, I have no idea where this rumor came from. I read it online that I had offered her $100 million/year. It’s complete nonsense. The budget of the show is $100 million. No one’s gonna pay $100 million/year for someone.”

Those hoping for another high profile diva – Mariah Carey – becoming a judge can give up on that hope, too. Cowell added: “Just to put it out there, she will not be on the list. I adore her, I would love her, but you can’t expect someone who’s just had two kids, who’s got a record career, to make the kind of commitment we would need on this show.”

As if you didn’t have enough reasons to hate her, Beyonce made her first post baby appearance to attend hubby Jay-z’s Carnegie Hall concert, looking like a gazillion bucks. Queen Bey looked stunning in a red ruched Alice Temperly dress and Christian Louboutin pumps. Her nails were painted in a eye popping shade of electric blue, most likely a subliminal shout-out to her new bundle of joy, Blue Ivy. After the star-studded charity concert, la familia Carter took the festivities over to the 40/40 club.

With Beyonce being a first-time mom, she wants to stay in one place for the first few years of Blue Ivy Carter’s life. Simon Cowell is looking to capitalize on that by getting Beyonce to sign on as a full-time judge on the American version of The X Factor. It was reported Cowell was looking to get Mariah Carey to replace Paula Abdul as judge. However, he’s having second thoughts after Nick Cannon’s “Mariah is too legendary” comment because he feels she isn’t as relevant as she once was.

Simon wants Beyonce because she is the biggest pop star in the world at this point and her involvement in the show would give it the boost to smash American Idol in ratings. Bey is familiar with the show. She’s performed on the British version and even mentored Alexandra Burke, who went on to win the British title. No comment has been made about the rumored deal from the Knowles-Carter camp.

Thanks to Rutgers University, students will be able get a full understanding of Beyonce by taking the college course “Politicizing Beyonce.” It falls under Rutgers’ Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, and doctoral student and lecturer Kevin Allred teaches the class.

Beyonce’s moves as a sex symbol and role model are analyzed, and Allred explains, “This isn’t a course about Beyoncé’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend.” He adds, “While other artists are simply releasing music, she’s creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona.”

Beyonce wrote an emotional letter to her fans talking about superstar singer Etta James’ death. James died Friday morning due to complications stemming from leukemia.

Beyonce wrote on her site:

“This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. I am so fortunate to have met such a queen. Her musical contributions will last a lifetime. Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist.

When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed.”

Many remember Beyonce receiving critical acclaim for for role as Etta James in the film Cadillac Records, which Knowles also produced.

In her alleged first interview since having her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce is every bit the gushing new mom you’d expect. In an exclusive to Star Beyonce says of her new child, “Nothing can describe the feeling. You have the instant connection once you know your child is growing inside you, but when you hold it for the first time, the words can’t be found.”

Beyonce announced to the world that she was with child at the 2011 VMA’s during her performance of “Love On Top.” From that moment the Beyonce Baby Watch went into full swing. The anticipation came to an end on January 7, 2012 when news of Beyonce checking into Lenox Hill Hospital leaked and hours later friends of Hov and Bey leaked the name of their newborn, Ivy Blue Carter.

In the wake of the birth there were several reports that other parents were kept from seeing their children due to security restrictions placed by the Carters. But Beyonce defends the precautions they took:

“Security was very tight, not for the sake of it,” she said. “It was for the security of our daughter.”

As if some Beyonce news wasn’t weird enough, an insect found in Austrailia was named after the pop diva. According to the Huffington Post, Bryan Lessard, a 24 year old researcher at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, announced the fly had been sitting in a fly collection since 1981. That is the same year Beyonce was born.

Lessard commented that he was inspired to pay respects of the golden backsided horse fly’s beauty by naming it Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae. He also stated Beyonce would be “in the nature history books forever” and that the fly now bearing her name is “pretty bootylicious” with its golden backside.

Blue Ivy Carter is a newborn and already has haters! After news broke that Queen Beyonce produced an heir to the Carter fortune, some church folk assumed it was the end of the world. A church in West End, North Carolina had the most to say. The Church’s sign read,“Beyonce had her baby. Satan is on Earth.”

According to TMZ, the pastor of the church claims not one parishioner of his church is responsible for the sign’s defacing. He says he rushed over to change the sign once he was bombarded with calls and complaints about the tasteless message. The pastor chalked the sign’s message up to mischievous teens around the area.

Damn, can we at least let baby Blue join The Illuminati with Jay-Z before we start calling her Satan? Geez!

Since Beyonce announced her pregnancy last fall rumors have swirled about her. Would the child be a boy or girl? Was she faking the whole thing? Things haven’t chilled out since she gave birth to her healthy daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, over the weekend.

And though Mother B. hasn’t spoken out on the incessant allegations, her little sister Solange took to Twitter yesterday to address the peanut gallery.

“It has really gotten out of hand,” she starts the tweets. “I’ve been doing my best at keeping my mouth shut….but the ignorance is really sad and upsetting. We are supposed to be super human and watch people we love get slandered, lied on, and ridiculed. It is one of THE hardest things to accept. In any other workplace…if someone directly tells your mother or sister is a liar and a fake ect…you would naturally express yourself. However, the pure happiness and joy I’ve witnessed and experienced helps me to keep my mouth shut.”

Beyonce’s pimped out Mercedes Benz van was seen making a grand exit from Lenox Hospital this morning.

The Daily News reports:

“A procession of vehicles with blacked-out windows made a speedy exit from the upper East Side hospital’s side gate in the wee hours of Tuesday, witnesses said. Two black SUVs motored quickly out of the facility’s E. 76th St. loading dock at 1:30 a.m. Moments later, a van parked on a nearby corner reversed into the same loading dock, and the large roll-down gate closed. The gate reopened a few minutes later and the van drove out, turned the wrong way on the one-way 76th St., and then headed north on Park Ave. One of the two SUVs blocked traffic on Park Ave. so the van would not be impeded.”

Lenox Hill Hospital Executive Director Frank Danza also says: “The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true.”

R&B songstress Kelly Rowland, 30, will be honored by Essence Magazine this February during Grammy weekend at their third annual Essence Black Women in Music event.

Rowland, alongside Beyoncé Knowles, launched iconic, multi-platinum girl group Destiny’s Child. Since the DC breakup in 2005 Rowland’s scored a few hit singles as a solo artist and was a host on the eighth season of British talent show The X Factor.

Kelly’s up for a Grammy this year, nominated for in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for her slow jam “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne.

In a statement, Essence editor-in-chief Constance C.R. White says Rowland’s “talent, drive and remarkable creative force show what it truly means to be a young powerhouse in an ever-changing industry.”
