Before the syrup, dental surgeries, jail time, baby mamas, and platinum records, Lil Wayne was known as Baby D.

The 12-year-old future hip-hop superstar was in a group with a 14-year-old B.G. called, cleverly enough, the B.G.’z (“Baby Gangstaz” for those who were wondering). In 1995, they released their debut, True Story, but Lil Wayne Baby D was only featured on three of the songs.

These songs would be Weezy’s first ever commercially available songs!

With both of their new albums, Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood and Cocky & Confident in stores now, it was only fitting that B.G and Juve to speak on the Hot Boyz phenomenon, their break-up and eventual reunion.

Christopher “Baby Gangsta” Dorsey wants no part of your barber. The New Orleans rapper is on borrowed time in a very real way and the whirlwind schedule has left him very little time to tighten his braids, so a stylist is hard at working parting his scalp between interviews. Someone jokes that he might be the last rapper with braids left and suggests maybe he cut them off to simplify his life and he offers an incredulous look saying “I like my hair.”

Having a pretty girl play in your hair is one of those perks of growing up in the ‘hood and B.G. isn’t about to give that up before he has to. Just days before this interview he was arrested in his hometown for gun possession, a charge that could land him back in jail for a very long time if it sticks. But today the only thing on his mind is his new album, Too Good 2 Be Hollywood and well, his hair…

So B.G. took a few minutes with TheUrbanDaily.com to talk about the new album, the perception of rappers in the penal system, post-Katrina New Orleans and his late friend Soulja Slim who was murdered six years ago this month.

“Ain’t like I stay in the ‘hood. I live in the estates, all of my neighbors is white.  I lay my head there, but when I get up I go to the hood…” – B.G.

Last week New Orleans rapper B.G. was arrested for gun possession during a routine traffic stop.After posting bond he is moving forward with the promotion and release of his eleventh studio album, Too Hood To Be Hollywood.  In our full length sit-down we covered everything from the charge, The Hot Boys reunion and battling his Heroin addiction to post Katrina New Orleans and his late friend Soulja Slim.

In the preview below he shoots down the notion that rappers get arrested to help boost their street cred.

Rapper B.G. is currently in the custody of the Orleans Parish Criminal Sherriff’s Office after being arrested in his hometown on Tuesday night (November 3), the night before he was scheduled to host an exclusive listening session for his latest project.

The former Cash Money recording artist was arrested along with two other individuals following a routine traffic stop.

According to The Times-Picayune’s website, officers from the New Orleans Police Department’s 7th District discovered three hand guns upon searching the late-model Chevrolet Tahoe in which the three were riding.

Along with the three weapons, two of which had been reported stolen, authorities also seized loaded magazines and two extended magazine clips, the police said.

Twenty-nine year-old B.G., born Christopher Dorsey, was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm, as was 28-year-old Jerod Fedison.

Six years after The Hot Boys released Let ‘Em Burn, their last project before they officially split, Juvenile, Lil Wayne, B.G., Turk, and producer Mannie Fresh are in talks for a reunion, according to Vibe.

“I already signed the deal,” Juvenile told Vibe late last month, “so for me I’m gonna definitely say it’s a go. I already received the check.”

The New Orleans group officially split back in 2003 amidst rumors of financial mismanagement and infighting, although group members Juvenile, B.G., and Turk left Cash Money Records earlier in 2002. Despite previous issues however, members believe that now is a good time to get back together.

While Cash Money Records, fronted by acts Lil Wayne and Birdman, is currently raking in the dough by the millions, a former employee is wondering where his cash is at.

Tristan Jones, aka “T-Mix,” has recently filed a lawsuit against the New Orleans record label stemming from an alleged breach of contract. In the suit, Jones states that he signed an exclusive production deal with Cash Money in November of 2005, which also included his expertise in programming, arranging, and mixing.

The contract, which evidently ended in 2007, had allegedly promised Jones production royalties on all projects he performed on, including Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter II and Birdman’s 5 * Stunna. While Jones has stated he has received partial payments amounting to about $187,000, he believes his contribution of over 40 master recordings spanning two years is cause for a larger stipend.

Cash Money Records, which was founded by Ronald “Slim” Williams and Brian “Baby/Birdman” Williams, has allegedly grossed over $30 million because of Jones contributions, says his attorney. The lawsuit demands nearly $2.25 million in owed income.

Damn, they got winged monkeys flying around and everything! T-Pain has regressed Negro kind back to the days of “The Wiz,” when we weren’t yet allowed to vote… for Shirley Chisolm. That’s not a place I’m trying to go back to–not for some skrippers. I don’t care how “fuego” they may be.

My main gremlin Lil’ Weeziana sounds like he just came out of appendectomy or some shit. For this, I’m well-pleased to finally have a visual for this song. I’m sure it’s a direct contrast to the near-comatose state Wayne must have been in during the recording process. He can’t fool me with all that dancing around and shit like he wasn’t halfway to ’98 B.G.-status in the booth spilling Tussin PM all over someone’s Crispy Asian Chicken carpet.

Sorry, B-Gizzle. The junk never leaves you alone. Neither do the haters.

For realsies, though. I didn’t understand a single word of Wayne’s verse. Don’t take my word for it, but he may have referenced his face tattoos and some Mexican lady cleaning “house sheets?” If he was pumping any of their usual Save-A-Ho propaganda in these trying financial times I’d like to remind the children that trickin is trickin–even if you got it. Don’t let the Lollipop King and the nigga who fell in love with a skripper tell you any different.
