The “Oh” singer tried her hand at reporting and did a little corresponding. She even got a chance to interview Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch and Brandon Meriweather. We can’t wait to see her interviewing skills.

Are Ciara and Ludacris dating? According to one of MTO’s snitches, the two are getting pretty close.

Ciara was seen with Ludacris two days in a row during “Luda Weekend” in Atlanta. His girlfriend Eudoxie was nowhere to be found until Ciara left town. Ludacris then showed up with Eudoxie by his side and things didn’t seem to be all good between the two.

Just in case you thought Ciara and Keri Hilson were the same person, let me clarify in this installment of Face 2 Face that they aren’t! The media have pit Ci Ci and “Miss Keri Baby” against one another because they are very similar artists, both women are talented and exceptionally beautiful. Ciara and Keri dance, sing and leave men swooned by their sexy appeal.

Ciara debuted on the scene in 2004 with “Goodies” featuring Petey Pablo. Combined with her second single “1,2 Step” her first album sold over five million copies. Goodies scored Ci Ci four Grammy nominations. Two years later Ciara reemerged with Ciara:The Evolution, which took the number one spot on The Billboard Charts. Ciara:The Evolution spawned her biggest hit to date “Promise.” Ciara has sold over seven million copies and had five number one singles!

Keri Hilson got her start as a songwriter for artists like Usher, Mary J Blige, Kelly Rowland, The Pussycat Dolls and more. In 2009 Keri tried her hand at her own music career with In An Perfect World. It debuted within the top five slot on the Billboard Charts. “Knock You Down” featuring Kanye West and “Turning Me On” helped In A Perfect World go certified gold. Keri Hilson is currently promoting “No Boys Allowed” her most recent album which features her most popular song “Pretty Girl Rock.” Keri has been nominated for three Grammys and won a BET award.

Ciara and Keri’s beef started in 2008 when the ladies began taking subliminal jabs at one another. Keri started the beef with this line “She can dance, she can sing, but tell them b*tches to the left” but who is going to finish it?

When you hear the term ‘freedom fighter,’ civil rights activists are the images conjured in your brain. This time around we’re turning the term on its ear. The people on our list are artists who’ve fought to be released from their contracts at their record labels. The reasons why musicians and record executives argue range from minute details to the direction of an artist’s career. It’s like a divorce and the mass public is the child. We’re asked to pick sides. After reading, hit the comment section and tell us who’s side you’re on–the artist’s or the company’s.

10. Ciara vs. Jive Records

Following countless delays, Ciara decided she had had enough of the setbacks Jive placed in front of her. She took to her Facebook page to complain about the label’s lack of promotion. Ciara stated she had to pay to promote her single, “Gimme Dat,” out of her own pocket. Jive’s lack of faith in the Atlanta singer/songwriter led her to request for their contract to be terminated. A few weeks later, Ciara’s name disappeared from Jive’s roster of talent and her website, Ciarasworld.com, had been shut down. The virtual erasing of Ciara’s ties with Jive led many to speculate she had been dropped. After all, those rumors were floating around before Ciara decided to blast them on her Facebook page. Inquiring minds are still searching for details concerning the deterioration of their relationship.

9. Jill Scott vs. Hidden Beach Recordings

Our soul sista, Jill Scott has had a seemingly controversy free. Our love affair with Jill almost came to a screeching halt earlier this year when she and Hidden Beach Recordings were embroiled in a nasty lawsuit. The label’s head honcho claimed the neo-soul singer stopped recording for the company before her six album deal had expired. Scott countersued citing Steve McKeever, the label head, cost her millions in profits. Before the situation could get out of hand, the two came to an agreement. Jill was allowed to leave and signed a deal with Warner Brothers Records, which distributed her fourth effort. Hidden Beach will release a 10 song project entitled “Just Before Dawn: Jill Scott From The Vault, Vol. 1.” Why can’t cooler heads prevail in all of these situations?

8. The Clipse vs. Jive Records

In 2003, One of the casualties of the merger between BMG and Sony Music Entertainment was The Clipse. Signed to Pharrell’s Star Trak imprint, the Virginia rap duo was legally forced to stay on Jive when Star Trak moved its distribution deal over to Interscope. Jive, known more for having success with pop acts, allowed The Clipse to finish working on their second album without having any intention of delivering it to the public. Tensions between the group and the label mounted until Malice and Pusha T asked for a formal release. When Jive denied their request, The Clipse took the issue to court. As litigation took place, the duo started dropping the mixtape series, We Got It 4 Cheap. By the end of 2006, Jive relented by releasing Hell Hath No Fury, in conjunction with The Clipse’s Re-Up Records.

7. 112 vs. Bad Boy Records

People question how Diddy can be a label executive when he wants to be an artist himself. That has been the basis of quite a few artists leaving Bad Boy Records. 112 was one of the biggest male R&B groups in the late 90s and early 2000s. After having a hit album with Part III, the boys of 112 decided they were men and needed to take a stand. Slim, Q, Mike, and Daron felt Bad Boy no longer suited the mature adults they’d become. Despite all parties’ calling the decision amicable, many believed 112 signed with Def Soul for more creative control over future projects. Being the legal gangster he is, Diddy worked out a deal to where 112 would be represented by both companies for the release of Pleasure & Pain. Amid rumors of internal strife, 112 parted ways in 2007 and Def Jam dropped them from their roster.

6. JoJo vs. Da Family Entertainment

In 2006, JoJo was at the top of her game. She had a Top 10 hit with “Too Little, Too Late” and was crafting tracks for her next album. By 2009, new songs hadn’t materialized. JoJo posted messages on her Myspace page informing her fans it was Da Family Entertainment who was holding up the new disc. Later that year, she filed a lawsuit against the boutique company. The singer alleged her label wouldn’t let her out of her contract or allow her in the studio to record new songs. An agreement was finally reached in January of 2010. JoJo’s future albums would be distributed through Interscope Records. If you’re wondering where the new album is, it’s slated to hit shelves this coming fall.

5. Consequence vs. G.O.O.D. Music

The beef between Kanye West and Consequence is a personal one that spilled over into business. When Kanye debuted in 2004, Consequence was there. He helped with lyrics and concepts for each of Kanye’s works, save My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. While the squabbles between the two remained under wraps for a moment, Consequence grew tired of playing a secondary role when he was promised a starring one. Cons has alleged he hasn’t received credit for the work he contributed to West’s albums. Another thorn in the side of this relationship is Consequence’s sophomore disc being delayed by Kanye and Q-Tip’s dragging of their feet. Consequence has left G.O.O.D. Music and created his own label called Band Camp. To add insult to injury, he changed the title of his next album from Cons TV to Get Even. I wonder who’s the target for that dagger.

4. Faith Evans vs. Bad Boy Records

As one of the flagship artists on Diddy’s label, Faith Evans wasn’t as big a name she should have been. Faith recorded some of the biggest R&B hits for the company. the issue for her was the same issue 112 had with Sean Combs. She felt there was a conflict of interest. How could the person supposed to guide your career do their job effectively when they were trying to be and artist themselves? After the moderate success that was the Faithfully album, Faith made history by becoming the first contemporary R&B singer contracted to Capitol Records.

3. The Lox vs. Bad Boy Records

When you talk about being out of place, The Lox signing with Bad Boy Records is prime example. The Lox found themselves fighting to be rid of the Bad Boy image. Shiny suits and big budgeted video didn’t fit the rugged outlook of the Yonkers rap trio. Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch wanted to work with Ruff Ryders label because they had a harder image which fit The Lox’s attitude. After venturing down all legal avenues to no avail, they took it to the streets. The group started a grassroots movement with t-shirts emblazoned with “Let The Lox Go.” Diddy relented, yet kept some of their money from their future earnings.

2. Michael Jackson vs. Sony Music

Michael Jackson’s last full length album he recorded was the 2001 disc, Invincible. Before its release, Jackson and Sony were at odds over the artist’s master recordings. Michael was supposed to receive the masters to all of his work in 2000. However, there were clauses in the agreement which made sure Jackson didn’t get his masters for another 20 years. MJ discovered the lawyer representing him in the matter also worked for Sony. After unearthing the shady practices of Sony Music, Michael sought an early exit from his contract. When Jackson informed the label he was leaving the company after Invincible was finished being promoted, Sony suspended all promotions for the project.

Prince has never been one to shy away from controversy–be it rocking chaps with the butt cut out on national television. One of the most attention grabbing moments in Prince’s career was when he etched ‘slave’ in his face when he began to feel Warner Brothers was stifling his creativity. When Warner Brothers wouldn’t let Prince out of his contract, he began dropping albums in rapid succession to fill the requirements of his deal. How’s that for there being more than one way to skin a cat?

Did Amar’e Stoudemire and Ciara break up already? People were wondering if this was true when Amar’e showed up at a Whitney Art Party event without the singer, who was seen at the “Hangover” movie premiere instead. The ball player seemed to be a bit touched when press asked where Ciara was, he relied “She’s not here buddy.” Word is while at the event Amar’e was keeping company with a brunette who told press her name was Laura Belmont-de Gunzburg. She said she works at the Pace Gallery and is the daughter of art collector Nathalie de Gunzburg, the chairman of the board of trustees at Dia Art Foundation. Laura said she and Stoudemire were “just friends.” However Amar’e left the VIP area without her to check the artwork in the silent auction. No word from Amar’e or Ciara’s reps at this time.

50 Cent granted Vibe Magazine an exclusive interview about his relationships with Ciara and Chelsea Handler; Drake not winning the Best New Artist Grammy and Young Buck.

On Chelsea Handler:

I don’t speak to her as much as I did. [...] Chelsea is confident. I think confidence is the sexiest thing about a person. She’s the kind of person that if you’re blessed with the opportunity to hang out with her, you’ll enjoy it. I’m not sure you’ll look at her and actually want to jump over the table and f*ck her, but you might. You would leave after talking with her feeling that she is a cool person.

What about Ciara’s case?

Singer/Song-writer Ester Dean has written hits for celebs like Brittney Spears and Chris Brown. The 24- year old is Grammy nominated and currently basking in Billboard success with singles she wrote for Rihanna and Katy Perry. Ester admits to living in poverty-like conditions saying “Three years ago I was dead broke,” Ester jokes to the LATimes about not being able to afford Fruit Loops (“Not being able to afford Fruit Loops and having to buy the Fruity O’s in the white box, or the mac and cheese that’s not in the blue box,”). She goes on to say ‘Drop It Low,’ honestly, was for Ciara, but she didn’t come get the song. And then Britney [Spears] wanted it,” she said. “During the demo [Polow] kept telling me, ‘You’ve gotta believe it’ as I was singing it. A week later he asked if I wanted to hear my new single.”

Rumor has it that there is a sex tape with singer Ciara and ex-boy toy 50 Cent floating around the hands of some “hood dudes.” Mediatakeout.com reports that “Ciara is “s*ckin some [dude] off and [having unprotected sex]. You can’t see the [dude's] face, but he is built and sounds like 50.” The video is said to be very graphic but there is no confirmation that it is indeed Ci Ci. The perpetrators are asking for $50,000 in exchange for the video.

“Well, well, well……u dont say……:)” the tweet read. Many assumed the tweet was a retort to a comment Rihanna made towards Ciara during their infamous Twitter battle in late February. Rihanna said that Ciara couldn’t book concert gigs due to her declining popularity.

Ciara says that it’s all a misunderstanding and that she was not talking about Rihanna in that tweet.

“Well, well, well, u dont say..i didnt say any thing about any1 and a story is created,” Ciara tweeted. “There is no need for me to hide what i feel or be subliminal when it pertains to that situation. If i had anything to say i would have said it directly. i didnt realize the timing of my statement until i saw my timeline. Yesterday, it was revealed that Rihanna’s current concert tour is experiencing sluggish ticket sales, with only 3,700 tickets being sold for an upcoming show in Boston. The star would need to sell at least 15,000 tickets just to break even.

Rihanna and Ciara have become involved in a Twitter beef. The young hot R&B stars exchanged words directing disses by name in one another’s tweets. It all started with Ciara on Joan Rivers where she said “Rihanna used to be so nice. I just saw her and she wasn’t the nicest” Rihanna immediately took to Twitter to respond:

“My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme”

“U gangsta huh? Haaa”

“Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of”

“Ciara baby, I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup”

Ciara tweeted:

“Trust me Rhianna u dont want to see me on or off the stage”

“Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. you threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let’s chat in person”

Ciara Talks About Facebook Letter [VIDEO]

Rap-Up TV caught up with Ciara during All Star Weekend to ask her about the infamous Facebook letter she posted on her Facebook page in regards to wanting to be released from Jive Records. The young star says:

“I guess the best thing for me to say is that letter was from my heart and it was from a real place. It was really about me talking to my fans and letting them know where I am and being real and honest. That was my reason for writing it. I just wanted to say what I felt, and God willing I believe everything is going to work itself out and fall in place like how it is suppose to, so right now I’m just enjoying myself.

I want my fans to know I did write my letter from a real place and I want my fans to know I’m enjoying myself and I think that’s important for them to know that I’m happy and I’m okay. I’m going to be going to South Africa and Australia in about a month and then I’ll also be going on a US tour of which I’m excited about. Cici is going to be grinding, it doesn’t stop, It never changes”

Ciara Wants To Be Released From Her Record Contract

Last week, rumors flew around the internet that Ciara had been dropped from her record label, Jive. Those rumors turned out to be false, though not too far from the truth. It appears that Ciara wants out of her contract.

Ciara set the record straight by sending out a message to her fans on Facebook.

To my fans:

This week the net has been a buzz of the rumor that I have been dropped from my label. At this point that rumor is false.. It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me. I have had some great times and success with my label, but sometimes like all great things, it’s at that point where I feel we don’t share the same views on who I am as an artist. The past two albums have been very frustrating for me. At times there were songs I chose to lead a project and I was ignored! This project, I even tried to get “Gimmie Dat” started I spent tens of thousands of my own money only to hear the radio PDs tell me my label didn’t want the song played. I even spent more than one hundred thousand dollars out of my pocket on the video to bring my vision to it and still no label support. I do understand that some labels are not financially supporting their artists and I have become one of them. You, my fans, know that I strive to do my best to deliver to my you the best songs and creative vision I possibly can. I’m dedicated to my music, performance and to my fans! I’ve tried to be a team player with the label only to have compromised what I truly believed and was not given the right opportunity to promote and inform my fans of the release of this album. I have so much of me as an artist I still want to give to the world and my fans. A release would allow me to go be creative with people who care and understand me as an artist. In a short time, I will be able to bring to you a new music energy and a visual excitement! Thank you so much for standing by me through the good, bad, and the confusion. I love you all.

50 Cent Gets At Ciara On Twitter, Subliminally Calls Her A B*tch

In 50 Cents latest Twitter rant he attacks ex-beau Ciara. Ciara subliminally tweeted the above statement and 50 Cent responded in a not so friendly manner. He even called her a b*tch. Someone really needs to slap some sense into this man.

50 Cent and Ciara were rumored to be dating but the leggy R&B star told Wendy Williams that wasn’t the case.

“[He’s] like my best friend,” Ciara said. “He’s been my best friend for years. So it’s definitely positive energy. That’s pretty much the situation.”

To which Williams asked, “So no more romance involved but you’re friends now?” And Ciara responded, “No, no, I didn’t say that. Don’t put the story on me, but I am single now.”

The back-and-forth got more intense last night, when Ciara tweeted 50 Cent directly. “Who you callin’ a b**ch” Ciara asked, while providing a link to Queen Latifah’s classic 1993 song “U.N.I.T.Y.,” which blasts men for calling women “b**ches.”

“Now I’m not going back n forth with you on twitter,” 50 Cent tweeted in response. “Now cut it out.”
