Tia Kemp has been making her rounds in the blogging world, but so far nothing has awakened the sleeping giant known as Rick Ross. Are 50, the Bawse and Tia in on it together?! If so… who cares?! Two out of the three are bum status anyways.

Infamous drug kingpin Free Ricky Ross [click here to read], who was busted in the act of trying to purchase 100 kilos of cocaine in 1996, finally saw the light of day Monday (May 4), when he was released prison after serving 20 years.

Ricky Ross, who many believe was the man rapper Rick Ross took his name from [click here to read] oversaw a Los Angeles based multi-state drug operation in the early 1980s, which earned upwards of $2 million per day during its peak.

After L.A.P.D. set up a sting operation to bring him down (The Freeway Taskforce), Ricky finally turned himself in, weeks after a rogue police officer attempted to set him up and murder him in an alley. He was sentenced to prison and released in 1996.

Six months later, his former cocaine distributor, who was working for the CIA (unbeknownst to Ricky), asked Ricky for a favor — it turned out to be a set up. In 1996, Ricky Ross was sentenced to life in prison for orchestrating the purchase of over 100 kilos of cocaine from an undercover federal agent.

Eventually, Ross’ sentence was reduced through appeals, after a series of explosive articles by the late Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Gary Webb uncovered C.I.A.’s role in importing cocaine into black communities to fund Sandinistas in El Salvador, as part of the Iran-Contra scandal. Webb’s series, titled Dark Alliance, turned into a best-selling book that blew the lid off of the alleged C.I.A. complicity in the importation of cocaine into the US, creating the exceptionally profitable, and damaging, crack cocaine epidemic spread through many inner city neighborhoods.

Congressional Hearings, in the late-90s, found the book’s facts to be true.

After Rick Ross’ [click to read] Deeper Than Rap moved an approximate 158,000 copies its first week, Slip-N-Slide Records CEO Ted Lucas is speaking out, claiming it’s no surprise. Many disagree, citing that his soaring record sales are surprising due to the economic crunch, the release of freshman Asher Roth’s LP and the feud that was created between he and 50 Cent on top of the exposure of Ross’ past as a correctional officer [click here to read].

Earlier this week, Ross [click here to read] told AllHipHop.com, that he was ready to exist without sharing album points with his longtime Slip-N-Slide Records founder Ted Lucas, “I don’t just want half of the pizza. You ate enough slices – beat it. When I make my business movies – Ted Lucas, CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records – on a personal note, I got nothing but love for him. But on a business note, you can’t eat no more pizza. It’s all my pizza.”

Lucas responded this week, congratulating his biggest artist of the last five years. “When I heard about all that was going down, I knew that musically Ross would rebut by making great music and come out on top,” Lucas told Billboard. “If he wants to get caught up in personal issues, that’s fine, but I never doubted him musically and lyrically.”

“He’s constantly in the booth making music. In fact, he’s already working on album number four. Ross is an incredible rapper and not too many people can out-rap him,” added Lucas.

I guess when you have dope beats for your album, you can falsify your rep on wax… Ah, well. Beef and BS aside, 50 tries to set his to the left and give Ross some cred on having the #1 rap album in the country.

Radio head and uber blogger MissInfo came across the prologue to Deeper Than Rap, the tell-all book from the mother of Rick Ross’s son, Tia Kemp. In the text Tia claims that Rick (William Leonard Roberts Jr.) has gone through great effort to downplay how much money he is earning in order to not pay child support.

“It was a long and frustrating day. From the beginning Will was nervous and uncomfortable and so was I. For over six hours with a short lunch break in between, Ileana drilled Will and she covered a lot of ground. As the day went on the cagier he got. His partial financial records we had been given made no sense and as Ileana asked him to explain certain items, Will would refuse to elaborate. He claimed in his financial affidavit he spent $50 a month on clothing total yet I knew Will was a clothing and sneaker freak, always buying himself and Lil’ Will the newest gear. The baby had new Gucci sneakers every month. Ileana had a list of Will’s charges at the Gucci store, and other clothing stores and brand name chains for thousands of dollars at a time and William would explain that it was his mother and sister using his card to shop, not him. When Ileana asked him about the expense of his custom diamond chains, pieces and jewelry, Will swerved around the questions saying he didn’t buy anything, it was either his boy Gun Play’s jewelry or it was promotional stuff he got from jewelers, that he would swap out. Even the custom diamond piece of his actual face. Who would want to swap that? He wouldn’t say what he paid for one piece of jewelry. The affidavit said Will spent $200 a month on food. I know how that man ate, $200 wasn’t gonna make a dent no matter how much McDonalds he said he ate.

She goes on to write that Ross claims to only have made $202,439 in both 2006 and 2007, despite having two Gold records and owning a million-dollar home.

At a nightclub party in Brooklyn, NY, gunshots were fired while rapper Rick Ross was talking during a stage performance and the incident was caught on video tape. In the video footage, Rick Ross can be seen and heard speaking to a crowd in Brooklyn, when at the 1:00 minute mark of the video, you can hear gun shots fired in the club.

Though Rick Ross is involved in a current hip hop beef with rapper 50 Cent who’s based out of Queens, NY, the incident reportedly had no association and was a separate incident involving someone or something else inside of the club.

After the shots were fired, the crowd scrambles apart as one club-goer can be heard screaming “they shooting!” while Rick Ross, who was still on stage along with Triple C’s artist Gunplay at the time can be seen scoping the crowd and then can be heard still speaking, from the mic, the words “Trillaaaaa” while afterward saying, “I love ya’ll, Deeper than Rap,” before exiting the stage.

Coincidentally though, it’s somewhat ironic that the incident happened in the same town where the name “50 Cent” derived from, referring to Kelvin Martin, the 1980s Brooklyn robber known as “50 Cent.”

There were no official statements released by Ross or his reps regarding the gunshot incident at the Brooklyn party which, by the way, reportedly occurred at the BK Night Club.
