Rapper 40 Glocc Arrested In Vegas For Allegedly Strangling Girlfriend

Rapper 40 Glocc — once signed to 50 Cent’s G-Unit record label — was arrested in Vegas after cops say he choked his girlfriend three different times in the same day.

According to the police report obtained by TMZ, 40 Glocc — real name Lawrence White — was arrested on October 3rd … after he allegedly unleashed a brutal beating on the woman.

Cops say 40 Glocc accused his GF of “playing him” — so he hit her several times about the head, face, legs and rib area … and choked her to the point where she “could not speak or breathe.”

In the report, the GF claims Glocc strangled her twice more before falling asleep — at which point, she snuck away and called 911.

50 Cent Signs DJ Pauly D To G-Unit Records

Earlier in the year, there was talk that ‘Jersey Shore’ star, Pauly D, would be signing to G-Unit Records. 50 Cent and the reality star made it official recently. 50 signed Pauly D to his dance and pop music imprint, G-Note Records.

Describing Pauly D smart and creative, 50 Cent said he’s a “great addition to G-Note and [the] G-Unit family.”

Pauly D is the first ‘Jersey Shore’ cast member to land a record deal and is also the first cast member to get his own spinoff show. Pauly D’s solo reality show will follow the DJ as he spins at celebrity parties and industry events and is scheduled to air sometime in 2012. For now, Pauly is finishing up a residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Some might remember he opened for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour.

It’s amazing what getting drunk and fighting on national television can get you these days.

Imagine receiving a phone call from 50 Cent and he tells you, “Quit. You don’t need to work anymore.” This was reality for Hot Rod who signed with G-Unit Records in 2006. He went from the real estate business to making records with greats like Mary J. Blige almost overnight. Sounds like a dream come true for most of us, but Hot Rod learned that being apart of a major label does not guarantee success. After a few ups and downs, Hot Rod began touring Europe where he took notice to the impact dance music had on the club scene. He immediately embraced the sound and went right into the studio and unveiled a new sound; his own spin of urban hip-hop mixed in with dance. I @itsJazzyFBaby recently spoke with Hot Rod about his new sound, G-Note Records, acting and more.

What was it about dance music that pulled you in?
I was touring overseas, I hit over 20 countries in three and a half years, and I was partying, and I’ve never partied like that in my life. I was accustomed to going to Hip-Hop clubs and Top 40 clubs, but a lot of clubs I was performing in overseas in Europe, they have dance DJs, house Djs, electro, so it kind of brought me into that world. After I performed, DJ’s would play that music all night and people would just be wildin’ out. At first, I was a little uncomfortable, but then it just got so comfortable as the nights went on. It just took me over; I really got into that scene. So when I started recording, it started coming out in the music. I wanted to experiment with that type of sound. It’s really where the music has gone now. You look at Top 40, you see Britney, Jennifer Lopez, The Black Eyed Peas, and not the type of records that are getting spun over there on the house and dance tip.

Did you think the hip hop world would embrace your new sound?
Yeah. When you go to any club now, even a Hip-Hop club, they’re going to have sets where they’re playing the pop music, because the Top 10 in the country is pop music. I think it’s all been blended together; it’s not segregated anymore. I listen to all types of music, and I think everyone has combined music tastes now.

Were you afraid that you may lose some of your current fans?
When I first put the record out, I knew that they were going to be confused, because the production is so different from the previous production that I was laying tracks over. Of course they’re going to raise some eyebrows. But a lot more people were accepting it.

You’re a rap artist so why sign with G-Note?
It came about with the new sound. G-Note Records was already established, but there were just no artists. 50 established that because G-Unit Records and the camp G-Unit (the actual group) the marketing behind that kind of blurred the lines between G-Unit the group and G-Unit Records. G-Unit the group is straight hardcore-gangster-shoot-em-up. But G-Unit records is a company. So when they say Olivia just signed to G-Unit Records, everyone thinks that she was in the group. It would have made more sense if G-Note was intact. He has a new label called G-Note for R&B singers and other genres of music. When I introduced the new sound to him, it only made sense to launch the label with that sound so they want be confused. As soon as you see G-Unit artists are doing pop music, the people are going to say, “What?!” That’s going to confuse the mind. So it just made more sense to put me on the G-Note side. I’m the first artist on G-Note, and Governor is also signed.

Are you gearing up for a 2011 album release?
Yeah, the single is heating up. There’s definitely not a date, but we’re looking at the fall. Currently the single is on the Billboard Dance/Club chart at number 30 and on the Billboard Dance/Club Airplay chart, it’s at number 24.

What producers are you working with on this album?
I’ve got my in-house guys — they go by ‘Out the Box’. Definitely working with Magneto; he co-produced with Havoc on Eminem’s last album. And now he’s doing some work with Ludacris. He’s up-and-coming now. I’ve been working with him for a long time. And now I’m working with some of the big house producers like David Guetta and DJ Chucky.

Can we expect any major feature artist?
I’m sure it’s going to be some big names, but right now I’m building the foundation. At this time, I don’t have any huge features. I have 50 on a couple records obviously. They are spaces for big name features to be on there. But as of now, they’re not. Of course I would love to have an Akon or someone of that caliber on the album. But as of now, it’s just me and some unsigned features.

Do you plan on doing any acting?
Yeah, I have a couple of scripts from 50. He did that 10 movie deal with Lionsgate. So I definitely have some scripts in my hand and you’ll see me in a couple of those films. I’m real excited. That’s why it feels good to have a boss like 50 Cent whose head is in so many different things. It makes it a little easier to transition into these situations, because he’s already been through.

Would you say taking on a new sound was a good idea?
If you don’t change with the time, you might as well kill yourself. Because the music is going to keep moving. Either you stay and get left, or you can progress. It was a process. It actually took three and a half years for me to get into my new sound. It makes sense. It’s definitely worth it.

50 Cent To Release First Single From New Album This Week

50 Cent is releasing the first single from his new album this week. The rapper made the announcement of the song’s impending arrival via Twitter today, April 18th.

“I’m putting my first single off my new album out this week,” 50 wrote on the social networking site. “Nothing but heat.”

50 has yet to divulge the title of the song or the new album.

50 also revealed last week that his new album will come packaged with a new movie that the rapper will write and direct. 50′s last album, 2009′s Before I Self Destruct also came with a self-written and directed movie.

“One of the biggest problems with Buck’s situation is not only that it’s so complex, but also that he didn’t understand it,” Joyce said. “The money went in and the money went out and Buck’s universe of knowledge about his financial state is a balance on an ATM receipt. … Buck never knew at one point, at several points, that he was a millionaire.”

Lloyd Banks Blamed For Violence At Concert By Witnesses

Witnesses are pointing the blame at Lloyd Banks for the stabbing of two men at the rapper’s recent concert in Buffalo, NY. Banks is said to have incited the crowd to violence by mocking their town.

Charles Webster, an amateur boxer who was to participate in the Golden Globes tournament, was stabbed at the show. Webster’s cousin, Jamar Norton, spoke to Buffalo’s WIVB Channel 4 and claimed that Banks played a major role in the fight.

“[Lloyd Banks was] cursing, making fun of our town, just getting everybody riled up to the point where it’s chaos,” Norton said.

Buffalo lawmakers are holding an emergency meeting with club owners and promoters to discuss how to deal with increasing violence in the city’s downtown area.

When a photo of 50 Cent appeared on the internet last year showing the G-Unit rapper 50 pounds lighter, many were concerned about the rapper’s health. It wasn’t until 50 explained that the extreme weight loss was for a role in a movie that it all began to make sense.

50 Cent lost 50 pounds for his role in the film Things Fall Apart. In the movie, he plays a football player who is dying of cancer. This week, a new photo of 50 Cent on the set of the movie leaked to the internet showing the actor/rapper in a hospital bed.

No release date for the film, which also stars Ray Liotta, has been confirmed.

Lloyd Banks On Starting Over: “I Want To Turn Every Hater Into A Supporter”

“Start It Up” might be Lloyd Banks latest hit but “starting over” probably best describes his mind set now.

“Everybody has their time,” says Lloyd Banks from the terrace of the G-Unit offices. “But when you go through your buzz and people still rock with you that’s when you’re doing something right.”

Eight years ago his crew put a new spin on the mixtape game with “50 Cent Is The Future.” Unauthorized remixes of songs like Tweet’s “Call Me” established Banks as a star in the crew which led to two solo albums, The Hunger For More and Rotten Apple. But after a successful run with Interscope Records Banks found himself a free agent again. But with the music industry in flux that could have been a blessing in disguise.

“I was working out of my home and one of the first things I did was build a studio,” he says. “I never stopped recording. I was able to think clearly as an independent with no one in my ear. ‘Beemer Benz Or Bentley’ felt like a new beginning.”

The auto-motivated street hit spun off multiple remixes (most notably Joell Ortiz’s “Nissan, Honda Chevy”) and placed him back in the public eye. Along with the LLoyd collabo “Any Girl” Banks now had the the ammunition to negotiate a distribution deal for his next project.

His third solo album Hunger For More 2 will be in stores on November 22nd distributed by EMI Records. Banks sat down with TheUrbandaily.com to talk about starting over, working with the other Lloyd and which car he actually prefers between the Beemer, Benz and the Bentley.

50 Cent and Jadakiss squashed their beef and took it one step further to make, “Dump,” a hot record with a really bad name.

Back in 2005 these two didn’t like each other very much. Jadakiss got caught in the crossfire of the Ja Rule vs 50 Cent beef but they let bygones be bygones in 2008 and Kiss performed at the ThisIs50 festival in 2009. While 50 Cent sounds like he’s been listening to a lot of Black Rob I’m not mad at this track at all. I’d put this up against Jay-Z and Nas’s makeup song “Black Republicans” any day.

50 Cent & G-Unit To Collaborate With Kanye West?

50 Cent recently revealed that he may be collaborating with Kanye West in the near future.

While talking to MTV about his upcoming album 50 talked about some of the producers he was reaching out to for beats.

“A lot of producers send stuff that’s interesting,” he said. “To me, it inspires me to write with different cadences, see a different style. I don’t want the record to sound like old material. I want it to sound like something new. They all go, ‘Oh, Fif, we want that Get Rich or Die Tryin’. They do the same thing to Jay-Z, [but] if you want the old one, buy the old one. If you want the new material that the artist is inspired to write, check it out.

“I sat with Swizz [Beatz]; I’mma try to get in with him. Don’t even be surprised if you hear me and Kanye, just talented artists — period. I’mma collaborate and make a monster this time. Ain’t nobody off limits to me in my head. If creatively they have something they feel is something for the project, I’m with it.”

This may come as a surprise to those who bought into the Great Universal Music Group Marketing Stunt of ’07 and thought that Kanye and 50 were bitter rivals… Sorry to disappoint the carnivorous hip-hop heads out out there.

Kanye took to Twitter to praise Lloyd Banks, calling him one of the most underrated rappers.

Young Buck Planning 50 Cent Lawsuit Over Record Deal

Young Buck is planning to take on rival and G-Unit leader 50 Cent for an amount that could be as much as $5 million dollars.

According to the Nashville City Paper, Young Buck will sue 50 Cent for his freedom from his G-Unit recording contract, which has prevented him from releasing material, or recording guest appearance tracks with other artists.

Young Buck, born David Darnell Brown, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection, to pay off his debt in a structured, timely manner.

The Nashville rapper will file a lawsuit against 50 Cent, G-Unit and Sha Money XL.

“Mr. Brown intends to reorganize his debts and pay off the IRS in a timely manner through Chapter 13,” Lynda Brown told the City Paper. “We hope to secure the return of his personal property quickly. He will also be filing a lawsuit in the next 30-60 days against his former manager, G Unit label and Mr. Curtis Jackson.”

Lloyd Banks is a lucky man. The “Beamer Benz Or Bentley” MC has never heard porn star Brian Pumper rap or seen his video, “Oh It’s Shaved.”

When asked about Montana Fishburne’s estranged co-star wanting to join G-Unit Records Banks managed a polite grin but offered the rap rookie some advice.

“I mean it’s a million people out there that wanna be signed to G-Unit,” says Banks. “I haven’t heard him rap but I can’t knock nobody’s dream. All I could say is that it doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve been rapping since I was about 11 years old. I take it that serious. Michael Jordans and Kobe Bryants don’t happen by accident.

“That’s the thing about rapping; it’s one of the only professions you don’t need a GED for. You can wake up fresh out of prison and say I’m gonna be the best rapper out. [But] if I told you to come try out for the Giants you gotta be prepared for that workout. There’s a difference.”

Lloyd Banks and G-Unit have signed a distribution deal with EMI records and his third solo album, The Hunger For More 2 will be dropping this November.

Brian Pumper seems to think that all of the attention his raps have been getting lately are because they are actually good, because now he wants 50 Cent to sign him to G-Unit.

In an interview with Pow TV, Pumper talks about his aspirations to be a G-Unit rapper, have his own cologne line, and a some other stuff that probably won’t ever happen, unless God is a practical joker.

Young Buck Says 50 Cent Is Trying To Destroy His Career

Nashville, Tennessee rapper Young Buck recently took aim at 50 Cent, revealing the Queens-rapper is still feuding with him and attempting to destroy his career.

Young Buck was once a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit collective.

According to Young Buck, 50 Cent is blackballing him from the rap game and preventing him from working with other artists, due to his contractual obligation to G-Unit.

“His reaction, being so harsh, is to basically stall me out to a position where I lose everything, to where my numbers drop,” Young Buck told the Nashville Scene in a new interview. “Because if you don’t have a new product out, then you can’t go get the big dollar for your shows. [He wants] to pretty much destroy my life from a silent-sided way of doing things. That’s his angle, and my contracts allow him to be able to do that.”

Young Buck stated that he is still very much in demand as an artist and has had the opportunity to work with a variety of artists, including longtime affiliate Lil Wayne.

But 50 Cent is allegedly preventing Young Buck from making guest appearances, which would raise his profile in addition to putting money in his pocket.

“The problem is, I go to be a feature on their hit record, and then they have to go to 50 Cent to clear me on the record, and he says, ‘No.’ And they’re looking like, ‘Well, damn’ — cause if it wasn’t for that I would probably be on every record that’s out right now, cause everybody and their mama reaches out and gives me support,” a frustrated Young Buck said.

Lloyd Banks Beats Assault Charge In Canada

G-Unit member Lloyd Banks won a major victory in court on July 15^th when an Ontario judge dismissed criminal charges against the Queens, New York rapper.

The charges stemmed from an incident in January of 2010, when Lloyd Banks, born Christopher Lloyd and a group of men allegedly assaulted Chris Hines, a well known booking agent in Ontario, Canada.

Last week, Justice Michael Epstein dismissed all charges relating to the January incident, which sparked headlines around the world.

“After a careful and neutral evaluation of the facts, it is good to see that the system actually worked,” Banks’ United States attorney Scott Leemon stated. “With this finally behind him, Banks looks forward to coming back to Canada soon.”

50 Cent May Cancel “Black Magic” Album

Black Magic was to be the fifth album by 50 Cent, but the rapper may not release the looming opus.
“I’ve written an album that’s called Black Magic, but I am not sure it will be my next album,” 50 Cent explained to Rolling Stone Brasil. “Since I’ve made it back to America after recording in the UK and different territories since I was on the road, I started writing different material that don’t quite fit that concept.”

50 Cent is presently on global tour and admitted that the influences were coming through in his music.

“Black Magic had a different style to it, a different vibe. I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres like rock music. The way rock music allows the energy to decrease and then comeback to high energy.. I was getting music that had that kind of vibe to it. I did some things that were a little dance inspired, the tempo was higher. Just playing with a lot of things.”

However, upon his return, he was inundated by American producers with a more conventional style.

“Since, I got back, I’ve been writing things that don’t fit that [concept].”

Mid-way through his performance of “Ayo Technology,” a man hops on the stage attempts to grab 50 Cent.

He is quickly pummeled by security offers, while G-Unit cohort Lloyd Banks can be seen striking the man, who is quickly booted from the stage.
