In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com Haitian Heroes star Jimmy Jean-Louis shares the details, the joys and the horrors of his heart wrenching trip home to the earthquake devastated nation of Haiti.

It’s a bittersweet trip for the actor as he thankfully reunites with his parents, he at one time feared were dead, but at the same time tries to come to terms with the unimaginable horror that has hit his homeland and that he is witnessing first hand.

“Heroes” Actor Trying To Locate Parents After Quake

“It was nice and it was peaceful to see my parents because we already had comes to terms that I was coming,” Jean-Louis tells RadarOnline.com. “It was just this amazing relief to see each other. It was calm and very emotional but nice to be able to see them and hug them – a genuine simple hug. That was great.”

Wyclef’s Friend, Haitian Rapper Jimmy O Died In Earthquake

But the joy of reuniting was soon overshadowed by the realization of the devastation of his surroundings in the developing country that was hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, the largest earthquake to have struck the world in 200 years.

“As I said I had a house that collapsed and another house next door and there are people laying dead underneath the house,” Jean-Louis shares. “From going around the neighborhood, from where we are, everyday, many times a day, I don’t know how many times they come and they bring dead bodies just to burn them, just to burn.

Bryan Fuller worked on the first season of NBC’s hit series Heroes, before leaving for ABC’s Pushing Daisies. When that show ended, Fuller was snatched back up by NBC for Heroes. Now, Fuller has spoken to SCI FI Wire about the show and where he sees the future of the show going.

When asked what he wanted to accomplish with the new scripts, Fuller answered “I just really wanted to get everything back to a character base. I think character was shoved aside for plot. The second year with the virus was interesting, but then it got complicated and techno-babbly. With “Villains,” it started out interesting and then became about formula. When they started talking about how we were injected with our powers and it became sci-fi ghetto storytelling, I became disconnected.”

Fuller continued “Mohinder went from a noble scientist to being a mad scientist with Jeff Goldblum hair and wardrobe. Claire became so strident and unlikable because she was just whining, bitching and holding a gun. I was just concerned the wheel had been jerked so sharply in the wrong direction with what had worked about the first season, which was ordinary people with extraordinary powers. Everything ordinary about their lives went out the window, and everything was extraordinary. That was my frustration.”

Our 2009 Midseason TV Preview runs down all the notable shows starting up in the next few months.

Please note that our list strictly covers series that have definite release dates (so any shows with “to be announced” air dates, like The Philanthropist and The Goode Family aren’t included) and doesn’t cover fall series that are just returning with new episodes, with one exception: Heroes (which is starting up a whole new volume of episodes, entitled, “Fugitives”).

This week, Monday through Wednesday, we’ll be running a Midseason Preview each day, covering the new and returning shows in the order of their premiere. Yesterday we talked about shows premiering 1/6 to 1/16. Today we’re covering shows starting up 1/18 to 2/8.

Big Love
Starring: Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chlo? Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amanda Seyfried
Network: HBO
Airs: Sundays at 9pm ET/PT
Season Premiere: 1/18/09

HBO’s risky gamble paid off. It turns out that we viewers like to feel like voyeurs sometimes, and peek in on the lives of “others” – possibly a subset of American life that we don’t get to openly experience. The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Big Love is returning for its third season.

As if juggling three wives weren’t tricky enough, we’ll find modern polygamist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) tackling problems outside his three-house suburban home. Bill attempts to create some much-needed financial security by expanding from Henrickson Home Plus into Weber Gaming. And as he continues to try and extricate himself from family and business ties to the Juniper Creek compound, he discovers that the prophet Roman Grant (Harry Dean Stanton) is difficult to elude. The power struggles between first wife Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), second wife Nicki (Chlo? Sevigny) and third wife Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) continue – especially regarding the possibility of adding a fourth.

The L Word
Starring: Katherine Moennig, Jennifer Beals, Rachel Shelley, Leisha Hailey, Pam Grier
Network: Showtime
Airs: Sundays at 9pm ET/PT
Season Premiere: 1/18/09Showtime’s sexy series, focusing on a group of lesbian friends and lovers, comes to an end this year, with the sixth and final season. In an interesting turn of events, Showtime is widely publicizing the fact that one of the show’s main characters, Jenny (Mia Kirshner), will die – because her death is not a season ending cliffhanger, but rather how the season begins. However, Kirshner (whose character is rather unpopular with many viewers for many reasons, including her frequent infidelity) will still be a part of the entire season, as we slowly learn, via flashbacks, what exactly occurred that led to her demise. Showtime is mulling over a spinoff series to The L Word, which could be set up by the events of Season 6.

Starring: Billie Piper, Iddo Goldberg, Callum Blue, Cherie Lunghi, Ashley Madekwe
Network: Showtime
Airs: Sundays at 10pm ET/PT
Season Premiere: 1/18/09Returning for a second season is this British import starring former Doctor Who star Billie Piper. The eight-episode second season, which aired in the UK this past fall, will continue the in-depth look at the life of Belle, a high-class London-based call girl. The drama picks up right where last season left off, with Belle abandoning a try at being a courtesan to become an independent escort and the newly single Ben offering to be her security. This season, Belle will juggle her newly independent path in her career with her personal life, including her friendship with Ben and feelings she develops toward a “regular” (i.e., non-client) man.

Quicker than the ticker inside John McCain’s chest, NBC has just cancelled My Own Worst Enemy starring Christian Slater and Alfre Woodard.

Clocking in at just four episodes, Enemy came into the season with a lot of hype, yet fell victim to mixed reviews. Ratings ultimately dealt the show the most damage with declining numbers since its premiere, even hitting a new low this past Monday which forced NBC’s hand in pulling the plug.

My Own Worst Enemy had the best lead-in with Heroes at 9pm. Although the third season of the critically-acclaimed superhero show has its own troubles with ratings, they’re still the shining gem on NBC’s overall weak schedule. It’s yet to be said whether or not the show will run another episode or not, but this should serve as a notice that numbers are that matters in the end.

Every night, The Urban Daily’s resident TV blogger, Kevin L. Clark, gives you his What To Watch rundown for everything on point that’s on television. Here’s what you should check out for Monday, October 13th!

Inside the Actors Studio, Bravo, 7:00pm -

Christian Slater has been a star ever since a child and with a new show making headlines on TV, James Lipton sits down with the embattled star to discuss his craft. The star of My Own Worst Enemy talks about his ups and downs in Hollywood, his relationships and career in this 15th season opener of Inside the Actors Studio.

Chuck, NBC, 8:00pm -

This hokey NBC television show has found its own popularity in the fact that somethings just go underneath the radar. On Chuck, Sarah’s ex-flame and partner, Bryce Larkin (Matthew Bomer) returns and goes undercover with her as an overly touchy-feely couple… which makes Chuck a jealous guy. Watch as sparks fly on NBC’s Chuck at 8:00pm.

Heroes, NBC, 9:00pm -

I’ve been kind of iffy about this newest season of Heroes. Happy that it’s back on and past the writer’s strike, I’m kind of disappointed with all the plot twists. Equally eager to see how it all works out, tonight’s episode finds Claire hunting a Level 5 escapee who can create black holes; Ando frets Hiro’s association with Daphne and Knox and Suresh’s mutation prompt him to find a cure. Will there be more questions or answers on tonight’s episode of Heroes? You be the judge!

Roast of Bob Saget, Comedy Central, 10:00pm -

Co-star and best friend, John Stamos, hosts the roasting of Full House’s favorite dad – Bob Saget. Fellow roasters include Susie Essman, Greg Giraldo and Jeffrey Ross. Sorry, no Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen appearances, you pervs… But be sure to tune in to the jokes on Comedy Central at 10:00pm.

The O’Reilly Factor, FOX, 11:00pm -

Everyone’s favorite talking head (pause…) is back at it again with his FOX tactics. As the week begins and the countdown to November 4th continues, O’Reilly will probably have some things to say about last week’s presidential debate, Joe Biden vs. Sarah Palin and his major use of those spelling bee words will make sure everyone will have a dictionary on standby. Check him out on FOX at 11:00pm.
