Ice-T: “Hillary Clinton Will Be President After Barack!”

Rapper/actor Ice-T is known for having some wild opinions and theory. He’s come out and said he believes Hillary Clinton will be the next president. After Barack Obama gets re-elected, of course. Here’s the story:

Regardless of the outcome of the presidential primaries, Ice-T already has his mind made up about the forthcoming election. The rapper and actor, who is making his directorial debut at the Sundance Film Festival with the documentary “Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,” says he expects President Barack Obama to be re-elected. After that, he predicts Hillary Clinton will be the next president.

The 53-year-old entertainer said, “She did the Secretary of State job, she was a G, she held it down, she didn’t cry,” referring to the former New York Senator with the hip-hop term for gangster (a positive thing). “Obama will support her,” he said, “and she’ll be the first woman president.”

I wonder how Hillary Clinton feels about being called a G. Does she even know what that means in hip-hop culture?

Ice-T may have cleaned up his image since his days of performing “Cop Killer” but that doesn’t mean the “Law and Order” star is ready to sit on a jury. The rapper and actor born Tracy Marrow reported to a Jersey City courthouse to fulfill his civic duty but was not chosen to serve.

“It really wasn’t that bad,” said the TV vet as he exited the jury pool room. “I went in and waited just like everybody else.”

Though Ice-T is known for repping the West Coast in the rap game he is a native of Newark, NJ and didn’t seem to pressed about sitting on a jury.

“I think they’re going to dismiss me,” he said outside the courthouse on Newark Avenue. “I think I would cause too much of distraction to the case.”

Hip-hop veteran Ice-T created quite a stir on Sunday after making statements about the self-proclaimed rap “boss” Rick Ross. In an interview Ice-T gave prior to the premiere of VH1′s”Planet Rock: The Story of Hip Hop and the Crack Generation,” he says Rick Ross (and many other rappers) are having an identity crisis.

“He thinks he’s [Freeway] Rick Ross, he thinks he’s Larry Hoover, he thinks he’s Big Meech, he thinks he’s MC Hammer, he thinks he’s Tupac. Like, who the f*ck are you really, dude?”

Ice T says many of today’s rappers glamorize a lifestyle that he wanted to escape at a young age.

“I don’t draw a line, I just try to tell the truth. If you tell the truth, itís gonna have a pro side and a con side. So I try to tell the full story, not just the story of when the hustlerís winning, but the trials and tribulations of the sñt he goes through.”

Coco Tweets About Wardrobe Malfunction

Earlier this week Ice-T’s wife Coco made headlines when she had a wardrobe malfunction at a Richie Rich fashion show. Anyone who follows Coco on twitter (@cocosworld) knows she is hardly shy when it comes to her chesticles, but wanted to explain that this was NOT done purposely.

“I walked the runway for the Richie Rich Fashion yesterday and I didn’t have a proper fitting and the silky dress I wore slipped down under my boob,” she wrote. ” My right boob popped out like it was trying to say hello to everybody but I quickly stuffed it back in then acted like nothing happened. I swear I didn’t mean for my boob slip to happen. It was just as shocking to me. But hey, sometimes you have to say it is ‘T*tty Tuesday.’”

Coco has a weekly event on her Twitter feed dedicated to her boobs and another on Thursdays featuring photos of her in thongs. However, she felt this DD-Cup display was not intentional and should not be taken too seriously.

“I woke up this morning and it’s the news of the century for some odd reason. People bombarded me with calls, emails…I’m like come on, seriously. IT’S A BOOB! We all have them. Can’t we talk about starvation in the world or Cancer?”

We could, but it wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining as “T*tty Tuesday.” Despite her insisting it wasn’t important, she later posted a video of the clip on Youtube, which was removed.

Ice-T recently got attacked by critics over a joke he made on twitter about Russell Armstrong, husband of Taylor Armstrong from “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” committing suicide. Ice-T tweeted, “Bad joke..but alotta those wives would make me consider it.”

Ice-T spoke on the cast of “Basketball Wives,” Shaunie, Evelyn, Tami and Jennifer on twitter. He tweeted, “Speaking on Wives shows…Are any of the ‘Basketball Wives’ even married??? …So shouldn’t it be called..”Basketball Dumped H–’???” “Hey! People love to call my wife a H–,” Well at least she is a WIFE.”

Tracy Marrow aka Ice -T is one of hip hop’s most famous renaissance men. Starting out as a street pimp, Ice has made his mark in a plethora of avenues in the entertainment industry. After a successful and controversial music career, Marrow took a stab at acting. He hasn’t looked back since. In an ironic twist, the man who wrote songs slamming the police for their unjust treatment of minorities has added minutes onto his 15 by playing a slew of cops in various television shows and movies. For the past 10 years, Ice has had a supporting role on the NBC hit, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. As a former narc, Odafin Tutuola, Ice-T has won two NAACP Image Awards for his portrayal. Although he’s lived his life as an open book, we’re going to hedge our bets and say you probably don’t know everything there is to know about the man known as Ice-T. Take a look a few facts we unearthed.

1. New Jersey is Ice-T’s birthplace.

Despite repping L.A. to the death, Ice-T first appeared on the planet in Newark, New Jersey. He wasn’t a resident of Jersey for long so that is the main reason he doesn’t mention it much. In an interview he elucidated, “I was born in Newark, New Jersey, but I went to school in L.A. So ain’t no sense in claiming New Jersey. I didn’t run the streets there.”

2. Ice-T served in the Army.

By the time Marrow thought about joining the Army, he had a daughter to take care of. His stealing of car stereos and selling marijuana didn’t put a dent in the bills he had piling up. Marrow decided to enlist once he heard of the financial rewards that came along with enlisting. Ice served in the 25th Infantry and was honorably discharged. He reflected on that period saying, “I did four years in the military. And when I came out of the military, I got right into trouble.”

3. He hates the movies Breakin and Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Ice-T told Aimee Mann to eat a hot bowl of dicks when she expressed her distaste for his acting abilities on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. As angry as he got at her for slamming him, he was harsher on his earlier acting roles. Ice has stated in numerous interviews how bad he thinks those Breakin movies were. He said the films were wack and his acting was worse. We’ll say his acting in Breakin was better than whatever he’d like to say he was doing in Leprechaun in the Hood.

4. Ice-T shares a Grammy with Quincy Jones and Ray Charles.

In 1991, Quincy Jones brought together an elite group of artists for an track called, “Back On The Block.” Among the artists featured on the song are greats like Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Ray Charles, and Melle Mel. Jones’ vision for the project was to bridge the gap between soul, funk, and rap. While any other musician would treat their Grammy like a prized possession, Ice showed that wasn’t the case for him. When he allowed into his home for MTV Cribs, we saw the Grammy broken sitting on the kitchen counter. How’s that for anti-establishment?

5. The last five albums Ice-T has dropped have been on his own label, Rhyme Syndicate/Coroner Records.

We all remember the controversy surrounding Ice when he released “Cop Killer.” After coming under fire from his label, Warner Brothers Records, and the American public, Ice started his own label. Rhyme Syndicate which later became Coroner Records was behind the delivery of albums such as O.G. Original Gangster. Pimpin’ might not be easy, but he has made handling business look that way.

On Sunday June 12th Rapper and Actor Ice T will be co-starring in a reality TV series with his wife Coco aptly titled, “Ice Loves Coco.” The E! network will chronicle the couples day-to-day life as they manage their respective business ventures and their almost six-year marriage. In this exclusive interview with TheUrbandaily the couple talks about everything from the reality TV curse, the craziest thing someone has Tweeted and the rumor that Snoop was doing anything inappropriate with Coco.

TUD: What made you decide to do a reality show?

Ice T: We were hounded by E! to do it. People been asking us to do it for a while and finally the time was right and under the right rules and regulations. We didn’t want to destroy our relationship. It’s about our relationship and how we get along and how we handle business.

What is one secret to a successful marriage?

Ice T: You have to admire your mate. You can love somebody but not admire them. If you hold somebody in high regard, if you really look at your mate and go “Wow I really admire what they stand for,” that’s really going to hold true.

Coco: However you met that person the first time, you want to keep that going. When I met Ice I was [dressed] in something really hot and obviously that grabbed his attention. Well I want to keep that hotness going. If he likes heels I’m going to stay in heels as much as possible. I want to do what he likes. You can never go away from that.

Ice T: Also communicate. Keep everything going on in the relationship right on the front burner so that both people know the climate.

What advice do you have for a man whose woman wants to do calendar modeling like Coco and he’s on the fence about it?

Ice T: All guys are kind of on the fence about that. When your woman models or becomes famouse she’s being seen by more people. That raises the odds that she could leave you. Of course when you get something you love you want to lock it away. Hopefully your wife can make you comfortable enough and keep you confident enough. Jealousy has a lot to do with how your wife handles it. If she models then wants to go and hang out it might add to your insecurity. Sure you get butterflies in your stomach because every guy in the world gets to see it; every baller, every millionaire. A motherf*cker might come from Arabia and kidnap her. But if you don’t care you ain’t sh*t either. You gotta have a little bit of insecurity. But Coco makes me feel secure, makes me feel like she’s happy. She doesn’t give me any reason to doubt our love. It helps.

Coco, your “Thong Thursdays” are really popular on Twitter(@Cocosworld). What’s the craziest thing a Twitter follower ever said to you?

Coco: It’s funny when the gay guys come out of their shell. It’s like I turn them. They’re straight now. That’s probably the funniest and craziest thing I’ve seen.

TUD: Many couples like Bobby and Whitney, Nick & Jessica, etc separate after being on a reality show together. Are either of you worried about that Reality TV curse?

Ice-T: I am! But because I’m worried about it I’m aware of it and therefore not going to let it happen. If you’re really in love with somebody you’re definitely gonna be concerned. If you say “Oh no I’m not worried about it” that arrogance will fuck things up. We’re very in tune. We communicate a lot. I don’t predict it but I’m aware of that curse [laughs].

Coco: I’m not worried about it. I think that curse is a Karma thing. If you put it out there it’s going to happen. I feel very secure in my relationships.

TUD: So what do you when you read the rumors on blogs like the one that Snoop did something inappropriate with Coco on Twitter?

Coco: We just laugh at it. Mediatakeout is a pure hater site. They never say anything good about you.

Ice T: This is some guy alone in his mother’s basement some fucking where. What is the matter with them? This should be the nail in the coffin for them. Snoop? Are you serious? He’s a good friend of ours. Last time we seen Snoop was at the Donald Trump roast. Oh, Lord. Snoop might run up in there with his football team and fuck em up cuz me and Snoop are friends. He’s probably like “Are ya’ll trying to get me killed with Ice T?” I’m probably having sex with an alien right now. If you’re going to lie then at least get close to the truth. Get more crafty with it.

Coco: It’s really outrageous. I would never leave the house if I ever read that sh*t, honestly. I think Ice is more worried about it. I don’t read the blogs. I don’t read all that gossip stuff. My life is so fabulous how it is, why mess it up? So when I hear about something like that I know what I’ve done and where I’ve been. But it sucks that the world will see that and believe it. If you keep track of me on Twitter you know everything I’ve done.

Ice T: When Coco says I take offense I’m a man so I am protective of her. She’s protective of me. But at the end of the day you can’t trip off of blogs because it’s unemployed little boys in the bedroom of their mother’s house writing shit. We’ve never had anyone walk up to us in person and say something negative. And that’s all that really matters—real life.

Coco: And in real life the love is overwhelming. All those haters hide behind a screen.

Ice-T briefly had a feud with Soulja Boy a couple of years ago. During a recent interview, Ice-T was asked for his opinion about Soulja Boy’s upcoming remake of Juice.

“I mean, you know… at somebody gotta stop it,” Ice-T said while laughing. “I dunno man. Do you. Do you.”

“Do you think I’d try to remake Pac’s movie? C’mon son,” Ice added.

Ice T & Coco To Star In New Reality Show

Ice-T & his wifey, Coco, are slated to be featured in an upcoming E! reality show called Ice Loves Coco. The show will focus on their day-to-day life as Coco tries to reach the next level in her modeling career.

“He feels it is time for his buxom and bootylicious bride, Coco, to take her career to the next level and he is there to support her every step of the way,” a rep told AllHipHop.com about the show.

The show featuring the couple, who are described as “very traditional couple, wrapped in a very nontraditional package” that are a mix of “Desi/Lucy meet Ozzy/Sharon.”

Ice Love Coco debuts in June on E!.

Ice-T’s Son Arrested In California

Ice-T’s son, Ice Marrow, was arrested early yesterday in Van Nuys, CA. The 19-year-old was picked up by a traffic officer and arrested on an unconfirmed misdemeanor charge, reported by some outlets to be public indecency.

According to CarltonJordan.com, Ice-T refused to bail out his son and “his mom is broke because all Ice T’s money from Law & Order has gone on Coco’s implants and surgery.” So now, Coco is walking around with Ice Jrs bail money on her chest!”

Ice Marrow is slated to appear on the upcoming reality show “The Real Teens Of Hollywood,” produced by Dick Clark Enterprises.

Prison Break: Hip-Hop Behind Bars In 2010

One of the more disturbing trends we noticed in 2010 was the staggering number of rappers who ended up in jail.

Reminisce with us as we go down a list of some of the folks that we hope didn’t drop the soap this year.

T.I.

T.I. probably had the worst year when it comes to being in jail. After serving a jail sentence on federal weapons charges, T.I was released from a halfway house on March 26th and put on probation. However on September 1st, T.I. was arrested again after the driver of his car made an illegal u-turn. Police searched the vehicle and found drugs in the car.

T.I. went back to jail on November 1st to serve an 11 month sentence.

Lil’ Wayne

Weezy did a bid on Rikers Island from March 8 to November 4th on weapons charges. During his time in the clink, Weezy managed to release several music videos that he shot before going in, as well as the I Am Not A Human Being album.

DMX

DMX was in and out of jail this year. In March, he went in for violating his probation. After being released in July, he went back to jail three weeks later on a reckless driving charge for 90 days. On November 19th, he was arrested for violating his probation again.

Suge Knight

The former Death Row Records head was arrested for driving with a suspended license in early December, but earlier in the year, Suge was nabbed by police for ordering a hit on a man.

Foxy Brown

Foxy Brown was arrested this summer after violating a protective order placed on her by her neighbor, Arlene Richmond. Richmond claimed that Foxy yelled at her and mooned her.

Wiz Khalifa

The “Black and Yellow” rapper was busted in November after police found a sizable amount of marijuana on his tourbus. He was charged with possession and trafficking.

Jae Millz

The Young Money rapper was arrested in May after his girlfriend called the cops on him during an argument. Police found that Millz was in possession of marijuana.

Kid Cudi

The Cudster was arrested on June 11th in New York and charged with felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance after police were called in response to a disturbance involving Cudi and an unidentified woman. Cudi later admitted that the controlled substance he was caught with was cocaine.

Ice T

Though he plays a cop on Law & Order, Ice T found himself on the wrong side of the law in July when he was arrested for driving with expired auto insurance. The charge was later dismissed.

Too $hort

The Bay Area hip-hop legend was arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery in July after a scuffle in an Idaho concert venue.

Petey Pablo

Petey Pablo found himself in serious trouble on September 11th when he was arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport after airport security found a gun in his carry-on luggage.

Juvenile

In February, Juvenile was arrested at his home after police responded to a call from his neighbors complaining about the smell of marijuana coming from the home.

Flesh-N-Bone of Bone Thugz N Harmony

In March, the Bone Thugz member was arrested during a concert in the group’s hometown of Cleveland on warrants for felonious assault with a firearm, and domestic violence.

Karriem “Biggs” Burke

The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records was arrested in October, along with 43 other people, on federal drug charges.

Khia

The raunchy female rapper was arrested in September for “endangering security interests.”

2 Live Crew – Nasty As They Wanna Be

BEST: The kings of controversy pushed the nation’s buttons with their sexual-themed music and this raunchy album cover of girls in thongs. The music content was over the top as well, causing it to be ruled as obscene and illegal to sell. Luke and 2 Live Crew had the last laugh: Nasty As They Wanna Be sold over two million copies.

Prince – Lovesexy

WORST: Prince posed nude on the cover of his 1988 album and not only did he offend people but also kind of grossed people out. Most record stories refused to carry it or wrapped in a black sleeve and maybe that wasn’t a bad thing. This is something that was probably supposed to be sexy turned just downright weird.

Lil Kim – Notorious K.I.M.

BEST: Lil Kim loves to show skin and she did so on the cover of her 2001 album. She appears topless, covering herself up with her jeans rolled down showing a “tattoo” that reads “Notorious K.I.M.” that gets mighty close to her public region.

Ohio Players – All of their album covers

BEST: The Ohio Players had the most sexy and provocative album covers in the 70s from girls covered in honey to leather whips and chains. This makes them true innovators of the sexy album art.

Rick James – Throwin’ Down

WORST: This has to be the most suspect album cover of all time. Rick appears in a Roman outfit but there’s not much to the outfit. It’s like a ancient speedo with gladiator boots to match. The strategically places guitar in front of his crotch doesn’t help much either.

Remy Ma – Shesus Khryst

WORST: Remy Ma is depicted as a female Jesus nailed the the cross. Like Jesus, she also only has on loin cloth. Get what’s wrong with this picture?

Spank Rock & Benny Blanco – Bangers & Cash

WORST: This is a re-make of 2 Live Crew’s Nasty As They Wanna Be and that’s exactly what is wrong with it.

Trina – Da Baddest Bitch

BEST: This could be a best or a worst but since Trina is a bad ass bitch we had to vote for best. Only Trina could be half-naked in a nurses uniform with defibrillators in hand while straddling a dead man.

Ice-T Traffic Charges Dismissed

Ice-T has emerged victorious in a feud with the New York Police Department, as traffic charges against him were dismissed today, August 17th, in a Manhattan court.
Ice-T, who also stars in “Law & Order: SVU,” was originally charged with driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seatbelt on July 20th.

The rapper/actor became upset over the attitude of the officer, whom he labeled a “punk b**ch rookie cop” who arrested him for no reason.

Ice-T was arrested in New York City this morning.

Shortly after tweeting about taking his dog (who has its own Twitter account… wtf?) to the vet for surgery, Ice-T was pulled over by NYC cops for a seat belt violation. Apparently, Ice has a suspended license and was taken into custody and quickly released.

UPDATE:

Of course, Ice-T turned to Twitter once the whole ordeal was over and had a few choice words to say about the cop who pulled him over.

And in case you were wondering about the surgery Ice-T & Coco’s dog underwent, Ice was kind enough to update us on that as well:

Curtis Mayfield’s “Impressions” On Today’s Music

Today marks the 68th anniversary of the birth of one of black music’s greatest songwriters, Curtis Mayfield.

His work with his group The Impressions, as well as his solo work continues to live on in today’s music through sampling. Having been sampled by artists ranging from Mary J Blige to Kanye West, his music has been exposed to an entire new generation of listeners!

Here are a few of our favorite Curtis Mayfield-sampling songs!

Kanye West “Touch The Sky”

Built off of a generous loop of Curtis’ classic 1970 single “Move On Up” from his debut solo album, Curtis (hello 50 Cent), Kanye created one of his most popular singles which was accompanied by a hilarious video!

Mary J. Blige “Be Happy”

The lead single from Mary J Blige’s second album, My Life, samples Curtis’ “You’re So Good To Me” from 1979′s Heartbeat album.

Ice-T “I’m Your Pusher”

Ice-T’s first taste of mainstream success came with the release of his second album, 1988′s Power, which featured the hit single “I’m Your Pusher.” The song was a reworking of Curtis Mayfield’s classic “Pusherman” from his essential soundtrack to the 1972 blaxploitation film Superfly. Ice-T would hook up with Curtis a few years later to record a song for the soundtrack of the 1990 sequel, Return Of Superfly.

Beyoncé “Resentment”

Beyoncé sampled Curtis’ guitar instrumental “Think” from the soundtrack of Superfly for this song from her 2006 B’Day album.

Monica “A Dozen Roses” / Edgar Allen Floe “The Righteous Way To Go”

In 2006, Monica’s “A Dozen Roses” hit the radio airwaves with a sample from Curtis’ 1970 ballad “The Makings Of You.” A few years earlier, hip-hop producer 9th Wonder flipped the same song for Edgar Allen Floe’s “The Righteous Way To Go” giving it a totally different feel than the Monica song.

Six Of The Worst Hip-Hop Movies Ever Made

Music and movies have always gone together. Musicals have been popular films since the golden era of Hollywood. Back in the day, it was almost required that film stars be able to sing just as well as they could act.

Sadly, the marriage between music and movies hasn’t been entirely blissful, especially when hip-hop is added into the equation. Over the years many films have been made with hip-hop culture at the focal point, or with rappers in starring roles, few of them worth the celluloid they were filmed on.

Here’s a look at some of the worst hip-hop films that we’ve seen starring rappers ternt actors.

Belly (1998)

This Hype Williams directed movie has only one saving grace: the work of its cinematographer, Malik Sayeed. Belly is a beautiful film to look at, but Williams uses every music video cliché possible and fails to provide an interesting story, or even a cast (Nas, DMX, Method Man, T-Boz from TLC) capable of making the film bearable to watch. After the nearly perfect intro sequence, the movie spirals out of control. Fortunately for movie-goers, Hype hasn’t directed a feature length film since this one. A sequel of sorts was released straight-to-DVD in 2008 and starred The Game but I didn’t even bother to watch it. I’m sure it’s worthy of a spot on this list as well.

State Property 2 (2005)

State Property 2 had a whole bunch of cameos and no plot whatsoever. How in the hell did Beanie Sigel get out of jail after shooting up the courtroom in the first place? Dame Dash tries to make an overblown Rocafella ad with all of the artists on the label without thinking of any character development or plot or acting. On the flipside, Noreaga is amusing as El Pollo Loco.

SP2 is also notable for it’s liberal usage of the F word, as evidenced in this below highlight reel from the film

Before I Self Destruct (2009)

It’s a film starring 50 Cent. Need I say more? Curtis stars in this film as a young guy who wants a basketball career, but after his mother is killed, he’s hellbent on revenge. This waste of time was packaged with 50′s album of the same name, and features one of the most ridiculous sex scenes ever filmed.

Full Clip (2004)

Busta Rhymes stars in this loose reworking of the 1970s film Bucktown as Pope who returns to his hometown to claim an inheritance left by his father. Pope finds that the town in a much different state than when he left and he partners up with his old friend Duncan (Xzibit) to reclaim the town. Wyclef appears in the film as the narrator of the story who you want to empty a full clip on by the time the film reaches its halfway point.

Cool As Ice (1991)

Vanilla Ice stars in this film loosely based on the classic James Dean film Rebel Without A Cause. Ice was at the height of his popularity when this film dropped, and his status as every teenaged girl’s fantasy couldn’t save this movie from tanking. Lucky for us, Ice delivered one classic piece of dialogue that will forever live in infamy…

“Drop that zero and get with this hero!”

Rappin (1985)

As a kid, I made an ill-advised trip to the movie theater with my sisters to see this Mario Van Peebles movie that came out when movies like the Breakin’ franchise, Krush Groove, and Beat Street were all the rage. Ninety long minutes later, we emerged from the theater wanting our $2.50 back. Rappin was a re-telling (notice a trend here?) of Robin Hood in which Mario Van Peebles starred as Rappin John Hood (get it?). No words can explain just how bad this movie was, so peep the trailer:

With all of the direct-to-DVD hood flicks that being hawked at barbershops across the country, we’ve certainly missed a few of them. Which ones would you put on your list???
