Pop Culture Moment #6: Jay-Z & Kanye West “N*ggas In Paris” [VIDEO]

Jay-Z and Kanye can deny their membership in the secret society all they want, but we can still speculate. After reading about all of the Illuminati imagery theories in the comments of several posts, The Urban Daily wanted to highlight some of the supposed Illuminati images found in everyone’s favorite track from Watch The Throne. How many did you spot? Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments.

Mason Symbol – Obviously, there’s no need to explain the Freemason symbol. It makes an appearance on more than once. Though Freemasonry isn’t directly associated with Illuminati, they wind up being grouped together in most instances. Jay and ‘Ye made sure the Freemason symbol was displayed. Lie and say it isn’t.

The Vitruvian Man- In the middle of the video, you can see a mirrored image of a lion’s head. On the surface, there isn’t much to talk about. However, you can see a figure similar to Leonardo da Vinci’s sketch, “The Vitruvian Man.” He was also speculated to be in the secret society. It might not be a direct reference, but if you’re in a secret organization, indirectly referencing something is the highest form of flattery.

Baphomet – If you’ve never heard of this, allow me to school you. Baphomet is a pagan deity which is popular in occultism and Satanism. The image often is mistaken as the devil, but in truth, it’s the representation of both male and female. The phrase “As above, so below” comes from Baphomet. the Throne try to disguise it as scene filler, but everything is strategically placed in music videos.

This news doesn’t help Jay-Z and Kanye’s denials of being members of the group. Jay’s RocaWear clothing line is emblazoned with Illuminati symbols. Kanye West has been accused of selling his soul to the devil and people use the fact he hasn’t made a song about God since “Jesus Walks.”

While I’m a little bit of a conspiracy theorist, I’m not too sure about this one. I doubt people would admit to a murder and put it in the background of a song. That’s not being a smart criminal. But what do I know? I’ve never committed a crime. On the other hand, everyone likes the song and can never explain why. Could it be The Illuminati has programmed us to go stupid to a song we think is stupid only to distract us from hearing their implication in the murder of one of hip-hop’s most beloved MCs? Now Ocean’s about set to release his debut album. In an interview with BBC News, Ocean gushes that he’s “super proud of” the as-yet-untitled spring release.

“It succinctly defines me as an artist for where I am right now and that was the aim, just to make something that represents where you are at that space and time,” he adds. “It’s about the stories. If I write 14 stories that I love, then the next step is to get the environment of music around it to best envelop the story and all kinds of sonic goodness—sonic goodies.”

This movie has been in development for several years, but it’s still moving forward. According to producer Denise Di Novi…

We heard that he knew we were working on the Jetsons. He reached out and said he’s a huge Jetsons fan. There are a lot of Jetsons fanatics out there, especially people that are into either futuristic science or design. He was interested in creatively brainstorming what we were doing with the movie and what ideas he might have. It was a really friendly, preliminary conversation.

DONDA, named after his late mother Dr. Donda West, is a design company that will, according to West,  “galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce there dreams and ideas…”

West wrote that the company will be comprised of over 22 divisions with a goal to “make products and experiences that people want and can afford..” West ran of a long list of positions he will be looking to fill, including nutritionists and DJs.

“I want to put creatives in a room together with like minds that are all waaaay doper than me,” he added. “We want to help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel. To dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need. To marry our wants and needs. DONDA.”

Kanye West’s mother Dr. Donda West died on November 10, 2007 due to complications from cosmetic surgery. She was 58 years old.

“I spent two weeks with him in Hawaii working on his album, ” he began.” And let me tell you what this young man does. They get up every morning and have breakfast together, him and his whole crew. They talk about yesterday, the next day and the present…how to make their music better. Then they exercise together, focus and get their energy up. Then they go do some charity work…good Karma. Then he goes to the studio from 4pm to 4am, 12 hours. Then wake up and do it again the next day…the way everything happened was focused energy and I never saw that from a rapper before.”

Only Kanye can do something like that.”

Even before Kanye had become the multi-platinum Grammy-winning artist he is today, he was making the fashion world pay attention. The former art student even uses his own blog to exercise his artistic vision, which leans less towards music and more towards his love and passion for style.

This past October, the G.O.O.D. Music head debuted his own womenswear collection, DW by Kanye West,” at Paris Fashion Week in front of the likes of people like Vogue’s Anna Wintour and designers Riccardo Tisci and Alexander Wang. The line was inspired by his mother Donda West, who passed away in 2007.

Mike B. recalls one of his first meetings with Kanye, not surprisingly at a Louis Vuitton store. “Back in 2003, I was just beginning to style Chris Brown, Pitbull and Dwayne Wade. I was on my way to meet [Kanye] at the Bal Harbour Mall. I see all this commotion, so I’m thinking that Puff was over there. They were telling people to leave the store. They shut it down because Kanye had requested to be in the store by himself,” he remembers.

The self-proclaimed Louis Vuitton blew up about six months later and has been shopping so much since then, that he “could speak Italian.”
