Lil Wayne Takes Shots At “The Throne” At Pre-Grammy Party

Lil Wayne took an opportunity to spread some love during a very somber Grammy Awards weekend–to a point.

After celebrating the success of his label YMCMB with performances, plaques, announcements (Christina Milian is now signed to the label) and even a moment of silence for Whitney Houston, he couldn’t help but take a jab at Kanye West and Jay-Z.

“I ain’t really got nothing else to say, but uh…I met a bad red bone, I took the b*tch home, I asked her what she want to watch she said surely not the Throne,” spit Lil Tunechi, who immediately dropped the mic and walked off the stage.

This is the second such shot Weezy has taken at Jay-Z. On “It’s Good” from Tha Carter IV weezy rhymed “Talkin’ ’bout baby money, I got your baby money / Kidnap your bitch, Get that ‘how much you love your lady?’ money.”

The boast was supposedly in retaliation for a jab Jay-Z sent on “H.A.M” where he said “I’m like really half a billi n*gga, Really you got baby money / Keep it real with n*ggas, N*ggas aint got my lady money.”

We can only guess that Jay-Z has been more preoccupied with his own baby’s money to respond to Lil Wayne. The new dad just released photos of he and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Jay sampled her voice for her tribute song “Glory”, making her the youngest person ever to chart on Billboard.

Lil Wayne and Bow Wow gallavant in a futuristic city with women while rapping singing about getting those ladies to sweat when they’re in the bedroom. “Sweat” will appear on his upcoming album, Underrated, which is due to hit the streets March 13th.

Well THR reports that Grand Central Publishing is set to release Wayne’s prison memoir Gone Till November this winter on Nov. 28. November is a compilation of journal entries Weezy kept during his eight months he was in jail for gun charges.

“We are thrilled to be publishing Wayne’s prison memoir,” said Ben Greenberg, executive editor at Grand Central Publishing to THR. “He kept detailed journals of his inner and outer life while he was on Rikers Island, and they certainly tell a story. They are revealing.”

We all knew it was a matter of time before the music industry became too much for West Coast MC, Game. In his latest music video, “Martians vs. Goblins,” Jayceon Taylor finds himself in the loony bin. Tyler The Creator aka Wolf Haley is right along with Game rapping about throwing Rihanna in front of a train and tying Lil B up to a tank of propane to watch him blow up. Whoa, buddy! In an odd turn of events, Lil Wayne contributes vocals, but doesn’t appear in the visual. Asylum patients mouth Weezy’s parts.

“The concept of the video is really trying to go more on the horror side. Game gets checked into the insane asylum and then he ends up getting taken to the coroner’s room and put to sleep,” offered the video’s director Matt Alonzo.

This cut off Game’s R.E.D. LP reminds me of Russell Simmons‘ failed horrorcore rap group, Flatlinerz. However, it is a cool Halloween joint, if that’s what you’re into.

2011 has been an interesting one for Luther Campbell, aka Uncle Luke. The legendary Miami artist and record label owner made a bid for Mayor of his hometown Miami-Dade county.

“They call me a daredevil,” he says of the move. “A couple times I thought what am I doing?”

His plan included a stripper tax (that probably didn’t go over well with his core fans) and he finished with 11% of the vote. But the opportunity lead to a mini-movie based on his life being submitted to the Sundance film festival. Always a hustler.

Luke also made news earlier in the year for challenging adopted Miami resident Lil Wayne to give back to the Miami community that he has made his new home. Luke set a January 1st deadline or else Weezy would have his “Miami card revoked.”

However, Uncle Luke insists that he meant no ill will towards the Young Money boss and that he was simply pushing Lil Tunechi to not forget the little people.

“When I say something to these young guys I say it as a big brother as a person who paved the way for them,” Luke explains. ” I look at myself as a Magic Johnson speaking to NBA Players. It’s not to hurt them, it’s to help them. It’s very important for them to give back to their communities. To be great you have to give back. People took it out of context. I guess I shouldn’t have given him the ultimatum of January 1, that was a little harsh. But the heart of what I said was to give back. He does community service.”

That is what happens when someone typically known for having a good time decides to get serious. But that doesn’t stop Luke from doling out advice. When asked what Weezy’s New Year’s resolution should be Luke offers a rather novel idea.

“Lil Wayne should get all of his tattoos removed,” Luke says. “That would be some major sh*t there. Then all of the little girls that shouldn’t have a tattoo would be running down to get em removed. Lil Wayne would put so many people to work removing tattoos. He would put more people to work than Obama.”

What about other celebrities like Rihanna? She has been one of the most talked about figures of 2011. Does Uncle Luke have any New Year’s resolutions for her?

“Rihanna, you don’t do too good with men, get you a girlfriend. I know she gonna come after me cussing me for that one.”

After Drake dumped his management team, it is now reported that he’s trying to leave Lil Wayne‘s Young Money to join Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation. If the rumors are true, it’s goin’ down, basement!

Drake was repped by Hip Hop Since 1978, the same team that manages Lil Wayne. Drizzy also detached himself from J Prince, the executive who helped him link up with YMCMB, and parted ways with his agent ICM to join the William Morris Agency.

Between the AMA’s success of Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Drake and now the signing of veteran Busta Rhymes, Cash Money Records has been knocking reality TV chicks out of headlines all year. But do they deserve all of these accolades? Our friends at TheSmokingSection.net definitely think so.

Yell, kick, scream, throw bitch fits all you must, but the truth is the truth. Cash Money Records has been the most successful business venture of its kind for a long, long time. No Limit’s tank ran out of gas. The R.O.C. crumbled. Bad Boy manages to stay afloat, but that’s mainly due to Diddy’s image. Def Jam has seen more than its fair share of negative press in recent years and still finds itself coming to grips with Shakir Stewart’s death. Meanwhile, Grand Hustle comes and goes with T.I.’s legal dealings. The point being is this. No label matches the longevity and mainstream success of this New Orleans conglomerate.
