Method Man Wants To Break Away From Weedhead Image

Method Man says he wants to put his weedhead image behind him. Meth cites his children as a reason for leaving his stoner image in the past.

“When you get older and you got kids going to school and you know teachers and things of that nature and they see how active you are and concerned with your children’s education and well being,” Method Man says, “it’s hard to sit there and to be taken seriously if people are always talking about ‘He’s always high,” or “He’s always on weed” and stuff like that which is totally not the case.”

“I feel like when I first came out, we were young and we were doing our thing, we smoked a lot and didn’t care if the world knew. Now, I have to use more discretion because of my kids. This is not for me. Everything I do is for them now, so I use a bit more discretion and I don’t put weed at the forefront anymore.”

DJ Quik Holds Album Release Party At Marijuana Dispensary

DJ Quik‘s eighth solo album, The Book of David, was released this week. To celebrate, Quik threw an album release party at a medical marijuana dispensary in Los Angeles on Thursday.

TMZ reports that Quik was in a “mellow” mood (Surprise!!!). He also performed a few songs from The Book Of David, and served up a special pot-themed cake.

Happy 4/20 to all the smokers. Today is a serious holiday to those that smoke weed so I decided to take a survey. I took to my Twitter and Facebook page to see what type of weed is most popular and got all sorts of replies. While trying to see what is the most popular type of weed now days, the topic of people not knowing exactly what they are smoking came up. I decided to throw some knowledge out there about the names and what is actually in your bag of weed. People refer to marijuana with many different terms but some of those terms are used depending on what the weed is laced with. Every place has their own slang so the terms also vary on geographic region.

I recently learned there is a type of marijuana named “Jim Jones” that is laced with cocaine and PCP. You also have something called “Juice Joint” which is weed laced with crack and if someone ask you to smoke “Purple Rain,” don’t do it! Its laced with embalming fluid and PCP. Just a few examples of types of weed you could be smoking and not know what is in it. You can heck out the full “Marijuana Slang Dictionary” list for yourself. Back to the type of weed everyone is smoking. What seems to be the most popular right now is Kush. Check out the top 100 most popular types of weed. I notice Kush is mentioned by several rappers. Are people smoking what they hear their favorite rapper speak about without knowing what is actually in the weed? You just can not go around smoking different types of weed just because you heard your favorite rap artist talking about it. Kid Cudi may have been known as the Lonely Stoner in recent years, but his recent announcement that he’d given up smoking weed caught many of his fans off guard. At a recent concert, Cudi revealed his reasons for breaking up with Mary Jane.

“You know how some people can take a smoke and they’re good, they do it for recreational purposes, sh*t like that. I was the motherf*cker who was doing that sh*t all the time, recreationally, every day, wake up, needed it, all those things,” Cudi said on stage. “While I was in that state of mind I just was missing a lot of shit that was going on in my circle. I just felt like I needed to just take a step back, clear my dome and focus on some real imporant shit. Like my daughter for one, my family, my business, things that are important. But you know, don’t be sad, I had a good run right?”

Due to 4/20, we at The Urban Daily decided to put together a gallery of celebrities who love to smoke marijuana and probably celebrate this controversial holiday every day of their lives.

4/20 was started back in the 70′s by some kids who would meet at 4:20 pm by the Louis Pasteur statue outside their school and search around for the cannabis plants that grew wildly over there. After finding some cannabis they used it to “blaze it up.” Somehow it evolved into a national celebration for cannabis lovers. From what I hear when people used to go to Central Park, they(I don’t know who “they” are) would drop marijuana from the sky (funny right).

Other names for marijuana: piff, kush, weed, chronic, haze, drough, sour diese, etc.

Kid Cudi says he has given up drugs. Now we know it’s April Fools Day, but Cudi, who was also known as “The Lonely Stoner,” says that this is no joke!

“I dont smoke weed anymore,” Kid Cudi wrote on his Tumblr blog. “I’ll leave it to the kids. Im 27 with a business to run and i need to be alert and focused with my mind strong. For those who still get it on, smoke one in my memory as your favorite lonely stoner.”

“This is not a joke,” Cudi continued. “I know most of you wanna see me all drugged out and f*cked up and i know misery loves company, but im sorry those days are over. I had a good run, Amsterdam and all. Im happy being sober. Im happy being a new me. Giva f*ck who thinks of me different, you didnt care about me in the first place if you cant be proud and happy for me for growing and starting a new chapter. Some new photos of Chad OchoCinco‘s new ride, a black matte Lamborghini, surfaced on the internet, and we hope they don’t get the Bengals wide receiver in trouble.

MediaTakeout.com posted photos of the car, which is clearly OchoCinco’s due to the custom floormats with his name on them. In one of the photos, what appears to be a blunt is just chillin’ in the ashtray. Now, it just might just be a good old, legal, tobacco cigar… and it might not.

Rapper Big Unk: “I’m Innocent Until Proven Guilty”

Louisiana rapper Big Unk insists that his life has never imitated his art. The “Go Hard” rapper was arrested in January of this year and charged with possession of 150 pounds of marijuana. Cops in Beaux Bridge, Louisiana also say they found $500,000 worth of jewelry and $72,000 in cash in his home. However, Unk (not to be confused with DJ Unk from Atlanta) insists he is innocent.

“I was just driving, minding my business and got pulled over, and the things they charged me with is false,” he told TheUrbandaily.com. “I had no marijuana in my possession and no marijuana in my house. They got money and jewelry, that’s correct but as far as the marijuana charge coming out of my house, I never had none of that in my possession what so ever.”

Unfortunately, this was not Unk’s first run in with the law. When he was 17 years old he was arrested and charged with attempted murder and served two and half years in prison. Unk, (real name Reggie Smith) began rapping while incarcerated and has since released several projects including Tolerated But Not Hated. The subject matter of his songs walks along familiar lines of hustling, stacking paper and the “fast life”, themes that make him an easy target for anyone trying to make a case against him.

“I think they probably listen to it and feel like everything we rap about is believable because of how we live or whatever,” says Unk. “But my situation… I don’t think the law had heard too much about my music until the incident. I think they going back and putting my music on trying to make the story look real, they trying to plan on me.”

Opponents of rap like Unk’s, with a focus on crime and drug dealing, insist that situations like this are just chickens coming home to roost. If you put out a song where you say “I’m trappin like it’s ’93“ shouldn’t you expect to get profiled? However, Unk insists that isn’t fair.

“I feel we should rap about whatever we want to rap about. That don’t mean we actually doing it,” he counters. “We might know witnesses or seen or did it in our past but that don’t mean we still doing it. Ain’t no different than a movie. They do all the killing on there.”

Unk, also known as “Mr. Real Estate,” has a new “movie” coming out called “Flood Zone,” a mixtape of all new music that he is selling on iTunes and livemixtape.com. On the tape he has a song called “Pushing Weight” with Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman and his artist Jeff Lynn. While his collaborators have had their own share of legal problems he doesn’t think that that he, or anyone else, should be guilty by association.

“I’m a good dude, I take care of my family and I’m innocent till proven guilty,” says Unk. “You know I believe in God so I don’t think I’m going to be proven guilty. So we looking innocent all the way.”

Montel Williams Arrested In Airport For Possession Of Pot Pipe

Former talk show host and medical marijuana activist (and prescription holder), Montel Williams was arrested at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee for possession of a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.

The Milwaukee Sheriff’s office says that the pipe was found on Tuesday by TSA agents at a security checkpoint. Williams paid a $484 fine and was allowed to continue his travel plans.

Williams, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, says he uses marijuana to ease chronic pain. He became an activist for medical marijuana laws after being stopped at a Detroit airport for the same charge.

Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are encouraging California voters to participate in the midterm elections coming up on November 2nd.

They aren’t too concerned about the battle going on in Washington, DC between Democrats and Republicans, though. They are coming out in favor of the passing of California’s Proposition 19 that decriminalizes the usage of marijuana for personal use which proponents claim will help the seriously ailing California economy.

While partying at Miami Beach’s club Liv after a show last month, Drake was spotted in the V.I.P. area smoking what looked like a joint.

Radar Online got photos of Drake and the funny looking cigarette, and their source claims that the whole area reeked of weed.

We’re not surprised.

Drake’s a rapper.

Drake’s rapped about smoking weed before.

Besides, Drake’s down with sizzurp slurpin’ Weezy.

We should be thankful that he’s not “dating the white girl” a la Bruno Mars and Kid Cudi, or rolling on E like T.I. and Tiny, or smoking rocks like DMX, or shooting up heroin like B.G. used to do… or….

Should we go on?

All we gotta say to Drake (and all the other celebs that like public drug consumption) is that if you’re gonna participate in the illegal act of partaking in the stickiest of the icky (or any drug for that matter), do it at home before you go out to the club. There are cameras everywhere, and who knows how the people whose products you endorse (hello Sprite and Kodak!) will feel about you being the face of their products as well as an unofficial spokesperson for Mary Jane.

Unless you’re Snoop Dogg.

Or a member of Cypress Hill.

And even if Drake just prefers to roll up his own tobacco, it would be in his best interest to know that Miami Beach recently passed a law banning smoking in indoor public places.

Lil Wayne Can’t Sell House Due To Weed Smell

According to the NY Post’s Page Six column, Weezy is trying to sell off his Miami apartment, but due to his constant smoking activities, he can’t find a buyer.

Why? Because the the marijuana scent is scaring off potential buyers.

“My fiance and I called to make an appointment to see it, and the broker, deadpan, goes, ‘I have two questions: Are you offended by the smell of marijuana?’” a prospective buyer told the paper. “And do you mind coming late in the afternoon? It’s currently rented by Lil Wayne and these are not morning people.”

Despite the issue, the couple still attempted to view the property, but when they arrived, they were greeted by scantily clad women and an apartment full of weed smoke.

“Once we got there, a member of Wayne’s posse opened the door to the overwhelming smell of marijuana,” the unnamed individual said. “Two hot, rap-video-looking girls were walking around in nothing but a bra and underwear, blasting hip-hop. We just went in and looked around and tried not to stare.

“He had a perfectly organized closet of crisp t-shirts on hangers, neatly stacked piles of XXL magazine, and a fully stocked bar featuring multiple bottles of Hennessy Black,” they continued.

Two guys who kinda-sorta-sometimes perform with the Wu-Tang Clan rap group have been arrested in Arkansas … on a tour bus that cops say was “filled” with marijuana smoke.

Ronald Bean (left) and Patrick Charles (right), aka DJ Mathematics and Streetlife, respectively, were busted last night after a routine traffic stop turned into a scene from “How High.”

According to the police report, the officers opened the bus door and “could immediately smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the bus … the bus was filled with smoke and the odor of marijuana.”

The cops claim when they went onto the bus, they noticed “marijuana blunts and residue were laying in plain sight.” Cops also claim they found 110 ecstasy tablets hidden inside a can and $8615 in cash.

In total, 8 men, including Math and Street, were arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell — the bus driver was released with a speeding citation.
