Quite often, one of your Facebook friends will dedicate their profile picture and status to a late celeb, but others recognize people who were blessed enough to survive life-threatening accidents.

You would never be able to tell some of them were in life-threatening accidents. Here are some celebrities who used their circumstances to celebrate life, make people laugh and offer good music.

Richard Pryor
In 1980, Richard Pryor suffered severe burns due to an freebasing accident involving 151-rum. He has been known to joke about the incident in his stand up work, specifically on “Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip,” when he compared himself to a burning match.

Sean Kingston
Sean Kingston crashed into a bridge while jet skiing near his home in Miami in May. Since the accident, the Jamaican-native is focusing on weight loss and healthy living.

Kanye West
Chicago rapper, Kanye West, made his breakthrough as a rapper in 2003 with “Through the Wire,” which story lined a freak car accident. Kanye’s mouth was healing when he recorded the track.

50 Cent
It’s no secret that 50 Cent was shot nine times in his hometown of Jamaica Queens. He has lived to reminds us all about it through every album cover, song lyric and interview.

Martin Lawrence
In 1999, Martin Lawrence took a jog and passed out from heat exhaustion. Let Martin tell the story, it was the “hottest day of the year.”

Martin Lawrence Producing New Series For TV One, “Love That Girl!”

On January 10, 2011 TV One will premiere its first original scripted series, “Love That Girl!”, executive produced by Martin Lawrence. The series stars Tatyana Ali as Tyana Jones, a young divorcee who returns home to Southern California to work in her father’s (Phil Morris) real estate business. When her unemployed brother Latrell (Alphonso McAuley), an aspiring stand-up comedian, unexpectedly moves in with her, the world that she was trying to create is suddenly turned upside down.

The series was created by Bentley Evans who worked on both Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show.

“My sister Anastasia and I were very interested by what Bentley and Martin were doing with this series from a business standpoint, and the creative story that the show tells only made it that much more attractive,” said Tatyana Ali. “Of all the characters I’ve played, ‘Tyana’ is my favorite so far.”

Love That Girl will air on Monday January 10th at 9Pm on TV One.

Martin Lawrence & Jamie Foxx’s upcoming Skank Robbers film started out as a fake trailer aired during one of BET’s past award shows.

Now the film starring Lawrence & Foxx’s female characters Shenehneh and Wanda has even more star power!

TV show “Extra” asked Foxx about the status and plot of the film.

“We rob banks from northern California to southern California. Halle’s in it, so it’s going to be hot,” Foxx revealed.

Today the DVD for Sony Studio’s Death At A Funeral comes to video stores and on-demand outlets. In this remake of the British comedy a father’s death brings a family together for a literal comedy of errors. The all-star cast is made up of some of the today’s funniest comedians, Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan and Kevin Hart.

With the success that so many of our favorite comedians have achieved in Hollywood it’s easy to forget that most of them got their start on a stage with one mic hoping to make the audience laugh. No scripts. No retakes.

For the past few months TheUrbandaily has been catching up with some of our favorites as they prepare to take the stage once again and we’d like to take a moment just to tell them thank you for the laughs!

Wanda & Shenehneh Movie Gets A Release Date

The upcoming film starring Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence as their famous female characters, Wanda and Shenehneh respectively, has a release date.

The film, currently still in development, has a release date of August 19, 2011 according to IMDBPro.

Jamie Foxx will be handling scriptwriting duties.

Foxx popularized the Wanda character during his stint on “In Living Color.” Shenehneh was one of Martin’s many characters on his 90′s sitcom “Martin.”

We heard it but we didn’t believe it. Two black men in drag resurrecting their 90s characters for an action movie. You could get mad or ou could enjoy it. I laughed at both characters growing up. Hopefully I will be able to enjoy them as a grown up. Jamie Foxx says he wrote the script and it will have Wanda and Sheneneh.

Chris Rock’s plays the lead in Death At A Funeral, a remake of the 2007 British film of the same name directed by Frank Oz. The Neil LaBute directed film also stars Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, Martin Lawrence, Luke Wilson, Regina Hall, and Zoe Saldana.

The film centers around a funeral and all of the misadventures that happen from family secrets being revealed to the body coming up missing. Judging from the trailer and the excellent ensemble cast, this looks like a film worth watching when it hits theaters on April 16, 2010!

A couple of weeks ago, the news broke that Martin Lawrence was about to jump into television again in a new animated series for the FOX network based on his experiences growing up in Washington D.C., plus a one is a single-camera series for the Starz Network that revolves around an interracial family.

Well it looks like that there is more up Lawrence’s sleeve in the film area also. Our sources have discovered that Lawrence and his production company, Runtelldat Productions, have begun to develop one of his successful franchise films, Big Momma’s House 3. The film series revolves around Lawrence’s character as an FBI agent who disguises himself as an old lady to protect a beautiful federal witness and her son. No word yet if actress Nia Long will reprise her role in the film.

Speaking of television, don’t forget to check out Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up as Season Four Premieres July 17th at 11PM ET/PT on the Starz Network, Hosted by comedian Doug Williams.

Martin Lawrence Returns To TV!

Martin Lawrence is making a come back y’all…to television. THR.com reports that the star has several porjects lined up:

At Fox, Lawrence is behind an animated comedy, which is being penned by Rodney Barnes, that is based on his experiences growing up in the Washington, D.C.-Maryland area.

At Starz, he has a single-camera interracial family show based on the comedy of Gary Owen. Both projects have script commitments.

Additionally, Lawrence is developing a multicamera family comedy set at a funeral home that is expected to be taken out to other networks.

The Fox animated half-hour, which is being produced by 20th Century Fox TV, will follow the misadventures of 13-year-old Martin as he comes of age in D.C.

‘Talkin’ Dirty After Dark’ Star Passes Away At 76

It has been confirmed to us today that veteran comedian and actor Rodney Winfield has passed away today due to complications with his kidneys. No word yet on exactly what sort of ailment he had, but it has been confirmed that he passed away today. Winfiled was probably best known for his perfomance in Talkin’ Dirty After Dark and Dead Presidents. Winfield was 76 years old.
