Convicted drug dealer Freeway Rick Ross got his name jacked by not one, but TWO rappers. Philly’s Freeway and Ricky Rozay have assumed parts of the gangster’s I.D into their own stage names (the beards were their own idea). But they aren’t alone. Vibe compiled a list of 10 rappers who have borrowed names from notorious gangsters and evaluated how that’s worked out for them:

A woman in Georgia has accused Rick Ross of fathering her 3-year-old child, and not paying any child support. Tyrisha Childers has filed a paternity suit against Rick Ross, and he’s wants to prove that he’s not the father by taking a DNA test.

Wale Comments On Pill’s Split From MMG

While on the carpet for lasts nights re-opening of 40/40 Sports Bar MMG rapper Wale shared his thoughts on former label-mate Pill’s split from Warner Music Group. ” Personal is personal, business is business. I’m friends with people that I’ve fired, so I’ve been in the game long enough to understand [you need to] separate the two.”

Pill expressed his dislike of the way his career was being handled via Twitter in December “Radio and TV b4 I had a deal, none after and u ask why Pill ain’t blew all the way up. Artist sign deals, label doesn’t do shit for them or don’t even know to work the artist. time wasted.” According to MTV, Pill was never officially signed to MMG although he was featured on a number of projects with Ross and other MMG artists. Pill’s deal was with Warner Music Group and he’s in the process of terminating that deal and walking away from the MMG Crew. Pill had this to say about Maybach Music Group “I ain’t got nothing against none of them, nobody. It’s just the situation don’t work.” Wale also said “I still support what he’s doin’; it just didn’t work out on the business side … Everybody gets chances, though. Everybody gets second, third, fourth, fifth chances. I believe in Pill, and I’m sure Rozay believes in Pill, and we wish him the best.”

Whether it’s Special Ed’s “The Magnificent” or Ice T’s “Colors” Rick Ross has demonstrated an appreciation for the classics in hip-hop. On his latest song, “Stay Schemin” from his Rich Forever mixtape the droning hook draws inspiration from Kurtis Blow’s 1982 ballad “Daydreamin.”

Kurtis Blow is best known by most early rap fans for his hits “If I Ruled World,” (Sampled by Nas and Lauryn Hill) “The Breaks” and “Basketball.” This relatively lesser known track was featured on Blow’s third album Tough, released in 1982.

Blow’s version, a lover’s lament after fighting with his girl, was considerably less menacing than Rozay’s interpolation. “Daydreamin’ takes me where I want to be,” he sang. ” Daydreamin’ lets me have you here with me.” But Rozay found something he could use.

Rick Ross isn’t talking about his latest solo album God Forgives I Don’t, and it may not be dropping as soon as we had hoped. The highly anticipated fourth project from The Boss was originally supposed to drop on December 13th, but was delayed after back-to-back seizures that halted his traveling to promote the project.

This is definitely bad news for those eagerly awaiting the new Rick Ross album, but there is some good news. There have been rumblings about him making a mixtape with Drake, and Rozay says it’s DEFINITELY a go.

After suffering from two seizures, Rick Ross is taking a lot of necessary precautions with his health. TMZ reports that Ricky Rozay is now traveling with a kit that includes (according to multiple sources) three different prescription medications, vitamins, water and an inhaler. Ross allegedly has a member of his entourage carry it around at all times.

During his first TV appearance since being hit with two strokes in one day, Rick Ross revealed that he recorded a collaboration with Jay-Z when he should have been on bedrest. Rozay was on BET’s “106 & Park” and told Terrence J and Rocsi that this new song would appear on his album “God Forgives, I Don’t.”

When asked about how was doing, Ross said he was feeling wonderful, and explained that his seizures weren’t violent. He added that he hadn’t slept a full eight hours in five years, and his lack of rest triggered the seizures.

Rick Ross was scheduled to perform in Atlanta and Los Angeles this week, and the show in L.A. has been rescheduled for 2012. This is probably a good idea, since Ross’ attempt to make good on a Memphis performance after his first seizure resulted in a second. Fortunately the promoters and Ricky’s team were on the same accord, and decided it was best for him to get better.

The official cause of Rick Ross’ seizures has not yet been revealed to the public, but he has been taking a bus when necessary instead of flying. Get more info right here.

His good friend DJ Khaled spoke with Russell Simmons about how Ricky Rozay is doing, and despite what it may seem, Ross is slowing down.

According to ViewHipHop.com, Khaled said, “He is at the crib and is going to rest and just chill until he gets his energy back. He is going to take everything one day by day.” Khaled added, ”I told him [Rick Ross] he has got to just chill and reIax. I told him he is a big enough star that he can just stay home. His life is more important.”

Even though people like Khaled are telling Ross to slow down, it’s not necessary. “When he went in the hospital that was a reality check,”Khaled explains. “I’m trying to tell him, but he’s telling me, ‘Khaled you ain’t got to tell me no more, I understand clearly I got to take my life seriously.’”

50 Cent and Rick Ross have a long history of beefing, so there was no telling what 50 would say about Rozay after he suffered from two strokes in one day on Friday (October 14th). Instead of throwing a jab, 50 simply stated “he gotta take care of his self” after one of his followers asked if he had anything to say about Ricky’s condition.

Hopefully this peace will last between the two former adversaries.
