Actor Billy Dee Williams is known by most people for two things; those smooth Colt 45 commercials and being the only Black man (on camera) in the original Star Wars. The veteran actor will be making an appearance at the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con this week where he will mix and mingle with Star Wars fans from across the country. Still revered for his role as Cloud City leader Lando Calrissian, Williams is pleased that he is still a fan favorite after over 30 years.

GALLERY: Snoop Dogg Launches Adidas Originals X Star Wars Collection

“They love Lando Calrissian,” he says in an article on Moviefone. “I enjoy doing these conventions because it gives me an opportunity to say ‘Hi’ to all of the people who’ve given me support over the years.”

In creepier news, Billy Dee admits he’s a pack rat when it comes to Star Wars mementos. “I have an Ewok head from the movie. I have it in a box, put away. I have to take it out of the box and put it behind some glass.”

Another Super Bowl is logged in the record books and while none of them made me laugh as hard as last year’s “Keep Your Hands Off My Mama” spot by Doritos, these weren’t half bad. Here are our favorite $1million spots from Super Bowl XLV.

1. Volkswagen Passat, “The Force”
A little boy dressed as Darth Vader is frustrated by his inability to use “the force” until he comes across his dad’s new car. Points for making an elliptical machine look like a spaceship.

2. Eminem Chrsyler 200
Slim Shady finds a new way to rep for his home city of Detroit, Michigan.

3. Kia Optima “Epic”
When Poseidon fights with aliens over a car it must be one sweet ride.

4. Mini “Cram It In The Boot”
Preface watching this with “Pause,” ” A-Yo!” or any of the your favorite deflectors of sexual innuendo but this commercial was pretty funny.

5. Doritos “House Sitting”
Didn’t everybody know that sprinkling Doritos brought things back to life? It was on the Laser Disc outtakes of Stephen Kings’ Pet Cemetery. For real. Go look.

George Lucas ventured down to Hollywood from his empire at Skywalker Ranch to present the American Cinematheque’s 23rd annual award to one of his favorite Jedi’s, Samuel L. Jackson, and ComingSoon.net intercepted the man behind some of pop culture’s most iconic mythologies. Lucas gave up a handful of plans that were not quite as secret as the plans to the Death Star, including his intentions for a fifth Indiana Jones adventure, and 3-D-ifying the classic Star Wars films.

ComingSoon.net: You had huge success this summer with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Are you seriously thinking about another one? Harrison Ford’s said there may be plans afoot.
George Lucas: Yes – we’re looking for a “MacGuffin,” which is an object that he goes after. They’re very hard to come by!

CS: Would you want to keep the whole family together for a film – Indy, Marion and Mutt?
Lucas: It really depends on what it is Indy goes looking for and then how the story falls out of that, and then how convenient or inconvenient to have the group there.

CS: A while back when we spoke you were planning to take the six Star Wars films and put them into a 3D format. Is that still something you’re working towards?
Lucas: Oh yeah. The technology is very difficult. It exists – it’s just extremely expensive, and so what we’re trying to do is figure out a more practical way of pulling it off.

CS: And what about Red Tails, the project with the Tuskegee Airmen that you’ve been wanting to do for some time now – there’s progress there?
Lucas: We’re casting that right now and we’re shooting in the spring.

CS: Do you have a director lined up?
Lucas: Yes, we have Anthony Hamilton directing.

CS: Do you think you’ll be directing a film again any time soon?
Lucas: Not for a while. I’m getting rid of all my development. Everything that I’ve ever developed is going to be finished in about a year, a year and a half or two, and then I’m going to go do my own films.

CS: You’re here in L.A. to pay tribute to Samuel L. Jackson. Of all the actors in Hollywood who would’ve killed to lobby you for a part in the “Star Wars” prequels, why was Sam an actor that you felt fit your plans enough to bring into “Star Wars”?

Lucas: To be honest, he’s the only one who asked, actually. He didn’t really lobby for it. He was on a talk show and someone asked him what movie he would’ve liked to be in or that he would like to be in that he hadn’t been in and he said “Star Wars.” So I called him up and said “Is that true? Do you really want to be in ‘Star Wars’?” He said “Yeah – as long as I’m a Jedi,” and I said “Well, I have a little tiny role, but it grows if you’re willing to do the three movies.” He said “I’m in.” It was just like that. He didn’t look at it like “This is a chance to make a whole bunch of money, a chance to do a big thing.” He just did what was asked of him and tried to make it as good as he possibly could.

The Insider was on-hand for Samuel L. Jackson’s moment of glory during the 23rd Annual American Cinematheque Awards.

Jackson was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award, which puts him in good company with previous recipients Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Al Pacino. The actor tells “The Insider” his feelings about winning the prestigious honor.

“I guess I’ve done something significant in this business,” he says. “And it’s really very strange to get a lifetime achievement award in what I think is the middle of my career. I’ve got like a hundred more films I want to do.”

George Lucas, who worked with Jackson on ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars,’ shares his experience working with the actor.

“Fantastic, he’s a really professional actor,” Lucas says about Jackson. “Always going 200%, giving you a lot more than you ask for — always there ready to work.”

The Urban Daily has a lot of fun here in the office and wherever we go we always get asked what do we think is sooooo funny about the 2008 Presidential elections. Well, after the jump, you can check out our top five presidential punchlines!

#5. Vote for Lando Calrissian!

In a galaxy far, far, far away… Billy Dee Williams throws his hat into the ring as the race for leader of the Star Wars galaxy heats up. A smear campaign from Emperor Palpatine gives a vicious attack on Calrissian’s campaign. Someone shouldn’t have given Williams all those Colt 45′s and that outrageously bad outfit.

#4. Diddy – “Sarah Palin Scares Me!”

Diddy may be a lot of things… (Insert your thoughts here)… but he’s not much of a punk. When his latest rant aired on his DiddyTV Youtube channel, you caught a glimpse at to what makes the “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop,” man stop dead in his tracks… Sarah Palin. I thought it would be birth control and child support…

#3. Peanut Wiggins – Chocolate News

If you ever want to piss people off during the most important election of the year, then head on down to Jacksonville, Florida and hang out with Peanut Wiggins! The obnoxiously “real” electoral gatekeeper will make sure that the crimes of Florida in 2004 don’t happen again. But if can’t spell the candidate’s names… is it same to say that you can’t count the votes, either?

#2. ‘Twas The Night Before November 4th

Those crazy kids at The Real certainly know how to use hip-hop as humor. In a skit befitting of Dave Chappelle, the New York duo put a yueltide spin on today’s voting frenzy. Hopefully, when this catches fire, Obama will be sooooo impressed that he’ll do the “Arab Money” dance after taking the oath of office.

#1. Saturday Night Live – Katie Couric Interviews Sarah Palin

After Tina Fey made a special guest appearance as Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, she cemented her name as one of the best female comics in the game. When paired with Amy Poehler, they’re comedy gold! The kicker is that most of the bit was pulled directly from the actual interview on CBS. But in all of her adorable cuteness, Tina Fey makes Sarah Palin endearing to millions of viewers with two gunshots, a wink and a smile…

For fans of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars franchise, you may be upset to know that the Lucas braintrust decided to amend their story with a new apprentice for Darth Vader. But for the truly enthusiastic gamer, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a thrilling moment full of amazing displays of power and destruction, that could’ve been great, had it not hyperwarped pass all the good stuff too soon.

Once you hear that classic John Williams theme to open Force Unleashed, admittedly, your heart will skip a beat. Nerds and newcoming fans alike are mystified by the ideology of Star Wars and its classic good-versus-evil tale. In this game, you’ll find that it delivers both. This title represents a serious step forward in storytelling for the famed franchise (probably because George Lucas didn’t write it…).

The artwork is another big proponent to Star Wars success as a video game. Beautiful and lush, the concepts behind the visuals instill the right moods needed in each level. From the junkyards of Raxus Prime to Felucia, coasting through space with the greatest of ease will certainly catch your eyes. You play Galen Marek, aka Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice (and Soul Calibur IV cameo player). With the Clone Wars now ended, Vader sends you on the hunt for the last of the remaining Jedi. Multiple plot twists ensue as you interact with Vader and some friendly and not-so-friendly faces, making this game remarkably intimate.

In due time, you’ll grow fond of Marek and his companions, as their moral conflicts carry a lot of weight. You truly feel like a powerful Dark Jedi, equipped with a variety of force powers and lightsaber slashes to make rebels and imperial foes fear you, alike. Bad points are given to developer LucasArts, as they fail to string all this together into one smooth, cohesive gameplaying experience to keep the momentum going. The targeting mechanism which controls the force is problematic, making it easy to grab something other than what you needed and even more easier to throw it at something that what you intended. The game’s camera is also a nuisance, as getting into a smaller space means claustrophobic angles for this third-person action game.

Weird glitches force this game to come off with a variety of mixed results. Boss encounters elicit some larger-than-life sequences that feature all the acrobatics and pain-inducing attacks that you’d expect from a Dark Jedi. But while they require you to pull platforms or bend metal slabs, the buggy application of your force may make that a headache inducer. There are moments of sheer awe that are ruined by a broken feedback system, bringing what should’ve been Force Unleashed’s most exhiliarating level to a grinding halt.

All in all, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a well-conceived game with its most interesting storyline to date playing itself out on your gaming platform. If you have the strength and will to resist the Dark Side (throwing the game out of a window due to frustration), then this is one to have for anyone who’s a fan of the series and wants to continue to navigate the Lucas universe.
