Apparently Sticky Fingaz has an issue with Dame Dash and his new BlakRoc project because Onyx's new project is called "Black Rock." In the prologue to Onyx's new video, Sticky is shown having a rhyming conversation on the phone with a voice that sounds like Jay-Z (read: it's an impersonator).

Apparently Sticky Fingaz has an issue with Dame Dash and his new BlakRoc project because Onyx’s new project is called “Black Rock.” In the prologue to Onyx’s new video, Sticky is shown having a rhyming conversation on the phone with a voice that sounds like Jay-Z (read: it’s an impersonator).

Sticky throws darts, and a few them sting a little bit. The most notable being the perpetually grouchy emcee’s pointing out that the members of the BlakRoc band (who are also known as The Black Keys) are all white.

Onyx member and actor Sticky Fingaz reached out to HipHopDX Monday to clarify reports by website TMZ.com, on a gun-related accident.

Reports from Sticky’s Major Independents production company confirmed a “firearm mishap” while shooting the rapper’s directorial debut, A Day In The Life, bearing the tagline “one bullet leads to another.” Spokesman for the company told HipHopDX, “Last week when Sticky was showing off his baby Desert Eagle to a friend named Luce, the gun accidentally went off and shot Luce in the leg. The bullet shattered a bone in Luce’s shin and he had to have surgery. He’s doing fine now, but the bullet is still lodged in his leg and he’s going back this week for a second opinion. No charges were filed and the two are still friends.”

Sticky Fingaz added to HipHopDX, “This incident was unfortunate , but could have been much worse. I’m just happy Luce is recovering and in good condition.”

Aside from directing A Day In The Life, Sticky also wrote and stars in the film which will be released July 7th by Major Independents and Lionsgate Films. It’s the first movie to be told entirely in rap and stars Omar Epps, Mekhi Phifer, Fredro Starr, Ray J, Michael Rapaport, Bokeem Woodbine, Faizon Love, Malinda Williams and host of others.

The soundtrack is out August 18th from Tommy Boy Records featuring music from the film and four all new songs from Sticky and Onyx. Look out for Onyx’s The Black Rock Tour of the US and Canada starting July 9th.

BET has acquired broadcast rights to “Dough Boys,” the debut film from Preston Whitmore’s Give Back Raise Up Program, through which he finances and produces low-budget pictures showcasing newcomers in front of and behind the camera.

The film’s first screening will be Feb. 5 at Laemmle Theatre. Paramount Home Video will distribute the DVD.

“It’s hard to find someone that’ll believe in you enough to put money up to back your dreams,” first-time director Nicholas Harvell said. “Preston didn’t just talk about it, he did it.”

The film, which follows four troubled youths and the poor choices they make in the inner city, was penned by Wilmore. It stars Arlen Escarpeta (“Friday the 13th”), Cory Hardrict (“Gran Torino” “He’s Just Not That Into You”), Maurice McRae (“The King”) and Lorenzo Eduardo (“The Hammer”), Wood Harris (“The Wire”) and Sticky Fingaz (“Blade, “Doing Hard Time”).

Whitmore is writing a film for Imagine Entertainment and Pharrell Williams, which he is to direct. He previously wrote, produced and directed “This Christmas,” starring Delroy Lindo, Chris Brown, Idris Elba and Loretta Divine.
